A man of many pursuits, Walt "Clyde" Frazier, the legendary NBA Hall of Famer with the distinction of being one of The Top 50 NBA Players, led the NY Knicks franchise to its only two championships (1970 and 1973). Today, as the color commentator for the Knicks on the MSG Network, he delivers solid sports analysis and well-seasoned talking points courtside while being a fan favorite for his rhyming rhetoric and trademark bold, retro fashion style. The eldest of nine children, raised in the racially segregated Atlanta of the 1950s, Mr. Frazier learned leadership early on between helping to care for his siblings, quarterbacking his high school football team, and strong family values instilled in him. He pursued basketball after realizing there were no professional black quarterbacks. As co-captain of the Southern Illinois University basketball team, Walt led the team to victory in the 1967 NIT Championship. Drafted 5th overall by the NY Knicks, Walt was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team during the 1967-68 season. He went on to become a 7-time NBA All-Star and posted one of the greatest performances in NBA playoff history during Game 7 of the 1970 NBA championship series, beating the LA Lakers. The game is recognized by many as the greatest game seven ever played. Aside from sports broadcasting, Walt splits his time between NYC and St. Croix where he runs a gentleman's farm and manages several rental properties he owns. For nine years, he was a partner with Ark Restaurants in Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine restaurant . Unfortunately, the restaurant recently closed permanently due to COVID. Mr. Frazier has written eight books, with the latest focused on health and fitness, eating healthy, exercising regularly and practicing yoga. Early in his career, he formed The Walt Frazier Foundation, and has generously supported youth mentoring and education for 50 years. Host Brad Johnson, as a native New Yorker, was a teenager and idolized Walt when he played for the Knicks. Listen as Walt and Brad discuss Walt's upbringing and early motivation to succeed, what advice his Knicks teammates shared with him as a rookie, his love of the Caribbean and a description of a typical day as a gentleman farmer. Hear how he earned the nickname "Clyde", the beginning of his love for fashion, as well as his transition from arguably being the best player in the Knicks franchise history to his life after basketball, and how he manages his life post-career. * * * Please follow @CornerTableTalk on Instagram and Facebook For more information on host Brad Johnson or to join our mailing list, please visit: https://postandbeamhospitality.com/ For questions or comments, please e.mail: info@postandbeamhospitality.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Wolfe and Dustin are having just the swellest time with Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, and this episode is ridiculous. Pure bananers. Have you ever played a movie? Have you ever watched a game? This is sort of like both those things, but also Dangeresque is there and he's got to get the formula. You know, the formula that makes plants grow good? And also he has to get the rocket's launch codes back from Perducci. And also, he's gotta find Sultry Buttons in Paris. Or maybe it was Tokyo? Or Cairo? Maybe Ireland? And also he's gotta rescue his partner Renaldo. And also he's gotta fight Uzi Bazooka on the sun. And also... Anyway, this is Dangeresque 3: The Criminal Projective. In Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, only the rockingest may thrive. Do Wolfe and Dustin have what it takes to win a battle of the bands? Absolutely not. Wolfe plays trumpet. That's an automatic DQ. Ooh, DQ. Dairy Queen. Haven't been there in a while. They used to have one near me, but it hasn't been there for like a decade. It's not like there aren't ice cream places, but DQ had some specific things like that chocolate drizzle that hardened as soon as it touched the ice cream cone. How did that work? I can never get my chocolate to stick like that. Anyway, this is the Baddest of the Bands. Welcome all to a actual Episode of Indeed Podcast - sort of. With new format changes and setup. We will complete shows in a shorter format more focused on topics. Roundtables - Interviews - Creepy or Cool - Game focused. We hope they can provide faster content as we ramp up for summer. Tonight's round Table brings Keefe, Kerry and Chris together to look at three new topics. The First is about a study done in America says that even teens admit that they are addicted to their cell phones. Second we talk about a finnish boy who was able to point out a software flaw and win 10k in reward money. Last we follwup on the lawsuit on Anaxar where a American Language Society wants to argue that the Klingon Language can not be copy-written. These brings discussion and incite for us that even when setting a time limit, Kerry finds a way to write a book.
On this episode of Threepcast, we finally get around to reviewing Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People! Do these Telltale episodes capture the thoroughly surreal Homestar Runner universe? Can we determine which episode is the best? Will we stay focused and prevent the podcast from descending into a Strong Bad quote-a-thon? Listen and find out! Next time, we review the 1991 CD-ROM probably-ahead-of-its-time adventure game classic Spaceship Warlock! Show notes: Behind the Bad Chapter 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2YKuzLGmto
The Threepcasters return for a super-long Broken Age review extravaganza! Did the game live up to its kickstarted hype? Or was it a crowdfunded catastrophe? Listen to find out the opinions of four random people! Next month, we make another attempt to get through Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, and also play some of the Flash adventure games available on homestarrunner.com! This is the REAL Mazinger, MAN. For this TWO HOUR BEHEMOTH of an OSMcast_!_, we are once again joined by Daryl Surat of Anime World Order and Otaku USA to talk about STUFF. We talk about anime, video games, the State of The Mecha Genre, but really we mostly talk about S** hin Mazinger Z**, the awesome new re-imagining of the classic Go Nagai series, as the director Yasuhiro Imagawa only knows how: By making it really, really awesome. Protip: Due to magical and mystical nature of audio processing Daryl sounds a touch softer than Kevin and Basil. It makes us feel more important than we actually are. Also we trip over each over a little bit, as while Daryl is used to talking via the Internets, Basil and Kevin are not. You have been warned! Promo: THIS IS NOT AN ANIME PODCAST! Those liars! They talk about anime ALL THE TIME. We met these guys at AWA and thought they are pretty cool. These dues talk about anime and video games and other neat nerd stuff that means they tend to cover similar stuff as us. Which again, means they are pretty cool. They will be even cooler when they get an RSS feed! (Just sayin’.) Durarara!!, It's like BACCANO! only in modern day and less caps lock, but extra punctuation. OSMnotes First off, technically we are releasing late on Monday but it’s still Monday so it counts! The file initially exported to mp3 wrong so we had to reprocess it. after DJ Inubito got home from work. Crazy, I know. Sadly right now the only way to get this show is via fansubs. This would probably be a good place to start. And if we ever get a retail release you can be sure that we will be preaching it from the mountain tops. Before this episode went up I (Basil) asked for suggestions to fill the text space up. After a few posts of nothing (well Cleavland has an idea) Lee then bombarded me with 15 bazillion ones. I suppose he must have been really bored at work today. I was going to delete post once I had a good topic but since he gave me SO MANY topics the post will stay up so I’ll have a list of options whenever I need to fill up space. I’ll call it Lee’s List. Like so~ Dragon Age: Orgins AKA Baldur's Gate III. This is a Good Thing. Also Ogres turn out to be wusses in this game. FYI. Lee’s List: Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People – I don’t know I only play good games. I kid, I kid! I haven’t played it. Too many other games I want to play before I get to before I lose myself into the land ofTelltale Games. Well. That was too short. Okay how about… Lee’s List: How Annoying it is when one of your coworkers CLIPS THEIR TOENAILS in the cubical next to yours. Geez, guy. NO MAN FUCK YOU. I GOT TO CLIP THIS SHIT BEFORE IT GETS OUT OF HAND! THESE TOENAILS. OH GOD. THESE TOENAILS. THEY ARE GROWING LIKE A CANCER THAT GROWS LIKE A TOENAIL OU** T OF TOE FUCK!** PS: While Pad is still the worst name ever in the history of ever, you can’t actually change names in Nostalgia so just accept it and find better things to complain about. Like Gonzo! But that’s pretty much beating a dead horse. Hmm…
