Also Disney is banking on sequels, again.... Scream 7 loses its stars, and Good Burger 2! Plus a 90s rom com list!
Greetings, Vault Hunters! Have you ever noticed how the best things always come in threes? Back to the Future movies? Check. Celebrity deaths? Big check. Borderlands games? If you don't count The Pre-Sequel, Tales, New Tales or Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, that's a colossal triple check! So today host Joel Watson is joined by Senior Project Producer Chris Brock, Mission Designer Kate Pitstick and Art Director Scott Kester to talk about the one and only third Borderlands game: Borderlands 3!

This podcast is now a walking dead spinoff show. I kid, CoD news is starting to ramp up, as we get closer to its annual release, Borderlands 3 gets crossplay 2.5 years later, Halo struggles a bit, and Bethesda is headed to Steam. Meanwhile, Netflix is spending money in the weirdest ways, The Simpsons is introducing a new character, and Norman Reedus loses his co-star. Also we breakdown all the news and play telephone in regards to everything shown at Cinemacon!
The boys go over a bevy of new information including leaked Star Wars IX imagery and the Gearbox Panel. Head to patreon.com/ExcitementInc for more early episodes! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
The conclusion of the Borderlands 3 series! We talk about our final thoughts and also...funnels.
We continue talking about Borderlands 3, with a focus on what we actually like about this dang game.
Okay okay, we'll stop complaining soon. Maybe.
We mostly complain about menus TBH, but we'll certainly have more coherent thoughts after a few more hours with the game.
We discuss the nightmare that is Biomutant and why the game flopped. On the bright side, Borderlands 3 runs well on the PS5 and is still one of the best looter shooters out there! Knockout City came out of nowhere and might be the next rocket league... or not. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
SloMo and Forte are back again to discuss Horizon Forbidden West's impressive gameplay debut, Dying Light 2 update, Borderlands 3 denied crossplay on PlayStation platforms by publisher 2k, and Biomutant impressions. Interspersed throughout the episode are random, unnecessary slander by Forte on SloMo's beautiful FemShep in Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
Today I'm speaking about the upcoming Biomutant game and doing a breakdown of the classes in the game! Also discussing the Borderlands 3 Season Pass 2, some twitch news and a more personal topic at the end. Thanks so much for all the feedback and support, every comment, review or listen counts massively and I really appreciate it.

This week Austin plays Demon's Souls on the PS5. This is one of two console exclusives that came out at launch. It's from Bluepoint Games and is the remake of the original from From Software. How does it hold up in the modern-day? We also talk about our return to Star Wars: Battlefront 2. In the news, Kevin Hart will play Roland in the new Borderlands film, Bleeding Edge development shuts down and a group in Reddit literally sends Gamestop stock to the moon. Our discussion today is a special one. We invite Adam Davis from Game to Grow back onto the podcast to talk about what they've been up to with their incredible mission for using games in therapeutic ways and help them overcome social anxiety and much more. It's a fantastic cause and they even have a tabletop RPG called Critical Core coming soon! From their website:"Game to Grow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the use of games of all kinds for therapeutic, educational, and community growth. Our therapeutic social skills groups help youth and adults become more confident, creative, and socially capable through the intentional facilitation of customized, collaborative gaming experiences. We're most well known for our use of tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, though we use many different games in our therapeutic social skills groups. Many of the kids, teens, and adults in our groups struggle with social confidence and building community. Our groups help build social competence, reduce isolation, and form friendships that last. Though a diagnosis isn't required, commonly supported populations include autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and more. We also provide training, consultation, and support to other therapeutic and gaming professionals, educators, parents, and advocates, so that even more individuals can benefit from the life-enriching power of games."You can learn more about Adam Davis and the mission of Game to Grow at their website.Check out video clips of our news every week over on YouTube.Show Notes:2:36 - Demon's Souls19:52 - Star Wars Battlefront II33:52 - Borderlands, Bleeding Edge and Gamestop Impacting Reddit1:03:26 - Game to Grow with Adam Davis2:10:54 - Upcoming Video Game ReleasesBecome a part of the conversation! Half Life Alyx is finally here! This is the next game in the Half Life series from Valve. It's a surprising departure in the series as it's exclusively available on virtual reality. Austin plays it on the HTC Vive and has some things to share in his first impressions. Brett also finally beats Borderlands 3 and talks about his final impressions of the full game from start to finish. In the news, Sony unveils the new DualSense controller for PS5. Animal Crossing has arrived during the midst of a pandemic. It's a game that brings some joy into this crazy time we're living in right now. Animal Crossing: New Horizons takes us to an island paradise where we grow from a tent to owning a multi-room house full of all sorts of items we've crafted. It's a blast to play with a big loop that keeps you coming back for more. In our news, The Last of Us Part 2 has been delayed due to Coronavirus, Quakecon 2020 was canceled and Gearbox employees got less bonus money than they were promised and it seems something is amiss. In a different situation, WHO is now recommending people stay inside and play video games as part of their campaign #StayApartTogether. It's been a whole quarter of games this year and we talk about all the best games from January through March. We're back in 2020 with a new podcast! It feels good to be back. We open talking about our time off for the holidays with the games we played, the things we did and more.In the news, we talk about Xbox not having exclusive titles at launch which is likely a good sign. Alienware reveals a new concept called Concept UFO. Finally, Respawn's boss takes over EA DICE LA's studio. With all that, we still have our biggest event to kick off the year: Game of the Year 2019! We have a number of categories we voted on from Best Shooter to Best Indie Game all leading up to our Game of the Year for 2019. This year we tried something new and setup a survey for our community to vote! It was a great result because we got some fresh ideas from the community that differed from ours. In our second of two episodes focusing on the music of Borderlands 3, we follow up the last episode (104) with Borderland 3's musical director (and co-composer) for the game's score, Raison Varner.Finishing Move Inc. is an award winning production duo composing music and sound design for games, television, film and ad campaigns. Principal composers Brian Trifon and Brian Lee White craft emotionally connected sonics for the world's finest brands and media. They've written music for games such as: Halo Wars 2: Awaking the Nightmare, Fractured Lands, and Crackdown 3, which they talked about in episode 69 of The Annotator. Their sound design work can be found in many popular film and television trailers such as: Terminator: Dark Fate, HBO's Watchmen, Mission: Impossible Fallout, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Mad Max Fury Road. Along with Jesper Kyd and Michael McCann, Finishing Move also worked on the original score for the video game BORDERLANDS 3. Borderlands 3 is an action role-playing first-person shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. The game was released on September 13, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh operating systems. It is the sequel to 2012's Borderlands 2, and the fourth main entry in the Borderlands series. In this episode FINISHING MOVE, composers Brian Lee White and Brian Trifon share their approach to writing music for a few select environments and boss battles from Borderlands 3. They talk about how employed a cello in a very unconventional way, how they wrote music that would allow it to scale up and change tone easily and the challenge they faced in writing compelling small elements for the game's interactive music system. Finally, they talk about working with and getting direction from music director, Raison Varner.ANNOTATED TRACKS / SEGMENTS02:47 - Conrad's Hold: Arrival07:26 - Proving Grounds: Mystery12:12 - Proving Grounds: Boss BattleNOTESRainson Varner - Borderlands 3 (Ep. 104)Finishing Move - Crackdown 3 (Ep. 69)SOUNDTRACKThe original score for Borderlands 3 was released by Laced Records on November 11, 2019, on digital and vinyl and can be purchased at Amazon.com, iTunes, or streaming on Spotify and Apple Music MORE ABOUT THE COMPOSERYou can find out more about and hear more music by Finishing Move at their official site https://www.finishingmoveinc.com/ or follow them on Twitter: @BrianLeeWhite, @Trifonic, @Fnshing_MoveABOUT THE ANNOTATORThis podcast is produced by Christopher Coleman (@ccoleman) and you can Find more episodes at THEANNOTATOR.NET or you can subscribe via iTunes, Stitcher Radio or wherever you find quality podcasts.SUBSCRIBEiTunesSpotifyStitcher RadioRadioPublicGoogle PodcastsRSS Feed
RAISON VARNER is a composer, music director and sound designer who has worked on video games such as: PREY, RED FACTION GORILLA, ALIENS: COLONIAL MARINES, and BATTLEBORN. He been directing music for the popular video game franchise BORDERLANDS since the very first game which was released back in 2009. He returns to direct and contribute original music for BORDERLANDS 3 this time with co-composers: Jesper Kyd and Michael McCann.BORDERLANDS 3 is an action role-playing first-person shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. The game was released on September 13, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh operating systems. It is the sequel to 2012's Borderlands 2, and the fourth main entry in the Borderlands series. At the hard edge of the galaxy lies a group of planets ruthlessly exploited by militarized corporations. Brimming with loot and violence, this is your home—the Borderlands. Now, a crazed cult known as The Children of the Vault has emerged and is spreading like an interstellar plague. Play solo or co-op as one of four unique Vault Hunters, score loads of loot, and save the galaxy from this fanatical threat. In this episode, RAISON VARNER describes the complexities for writing a score for an RPG-shooter hybrid game and the conceptual approach he ended up taking. He reveals how one of the goals was to write music that created various potentially conflicting atmospheres and emotions for the player such as: awe, humor, and adrenaline-spiking-action. Lastly, he discusses a, one-time, low-priority piece that he wrote for the game, which ended up being one the most sought after tracks by players and fans.ANNOTATED TRACKS / SEGMENTS02:35 - The Arrival05:31 - A Forgotten Space08:55 - Digby Vermouth13:31 - The Family Wants the MachineSOUNDTRACKThe original score for Borderlands 3 was released by Laced Records on November 11, 2019, on digital and vinyl and can be purchased at Amazon.com, iTunes, or streaming on Spotify and Apple MusicMORE ABOUT THE COMPOSERYou can hear more music by Raison Varner at his official Soundcloud page or you can follow him on Twitter @raisonvarner.ABOUT THE ANNOTATORThis podcast is produced by Christopher Coleman (@ccoleman) and you can Find more episodes at THEANNOTATOR.NET or you can subscribe via iTunes, Stitcher Radio or wherever you find quality podcasts.SUBSCRIBEiTunesSpotifyStitcher RadioRadioPublicGoogle PodcastsRSS Feed
The Outer Worlds has finally arrived in our hands. Obsidian Entertainment, the original creators of Fallout, have come out with with a new IP that is a fresh return to the days of old with Fallout and even Bethesda games. It's a great game with a ton of flexibility in choice. We also played Bloody Harvest which is the new free event from Borderlands 3. It's a Halloween event with skulls, new bosses and a cool, new area.Blizzcon hints at some big things coming this next week. Will we see Diablo 4? What about another Overwatch? Starcraft 3? Ubisoft admits Breakpoint was a disaster and is extending their timelines for the future games. Shroud is the next streamer to ditch Twitch for Mixer.Bethesda decided to come out with a subscription service for a paid game: Fallout First. This will allow for private worlds, provide new gear, monthly atoms and more. It's a bit overpriced at $99/year for a few updates when things like Apple Arcade are selling for only $4.99. Why did they do this? Is this the last straw for Fallout 76? Special thanks to Crazzie Pro Gear. They provided us with some incredible pro-level backbacks for carrying our computer equipment to all our events. If you want a bag yourself, head over to their website to purchase one! Creature in the Well is a game that came out not long ago from Flight School Studio. It's a pinball, hack and slash dungeon crawler. We love the art style and enjoy the unique gameplay but found there to be some issues with navigating the world. Is it worth buying yet? We also play more Apple Arcade such as Spek and Outlanders. If you want to hear us do these Arcade reviews regularly, let us know! Finally, it's all about Apex Legends new mode with Shadowfall at King's Canyon. Our news focuses on Riot Games turning 10 years old. They announced a ton of new games and we talk on what's to come including a card game and an FPS. Fortnite launched Chapter 2 and Blizzard cancelled an event to avoid controversy surrounding the China situation. We tried a new discussion topic in which we wanted to recap the last 3 months. Knowing our listeners likely don't play every game that came out as they launch, we thought every quarter we can highlight our 3 favorite and 3 least favorite games of the past quarter. Let us know what you think!Special thanks to Crazzie Pro Gear. They provided us with some incredible pro-level backbacks for carrying our computer equipment to all our events. We are back, all three of us, two weeks in a row. And it's the first time officially doing a simulcast video stream! Check it out at . We talk Borderlands 3, news, and all the fun stuff.
Welcome back to Wednesdays, party people! To celebrate, we are also live on our GameHounds Edie, Nick, and Goalie return to a mid-week show with reckless abandon, with a final full review of Greedfall and an initial impressions of Borderlands 3. It's a day to celebrate!
Borderlands 3 is here and we dive deeper into it this week. There are a lot of great things going for it from the weapons, the gameplay and the co-op features. On the other hand, there are some issues with it in regards to the story pacing, world building and more. Steam has significantly changed the way their store works and some feedback has been less than positive from indie developers. Gamestop is working on retro gaming inside their stores and Epic paid a huge sum of money for Control exclusivity. Destiny Year 3 is starting soon beginning with Shadowkeep. Now that Bungie is independent, we're actually excited to see what the future holds for this game. Will we dive back into it? What else is coming to the new updates?Special thanks to Crazzie Pro Gear. They provided us with some incredible pro-level backbacks for carrying our computer equipment to all our events. We pulled out of the floor for our our impressions on Death Stranding and Borderlands 3.
On today's show, Marc talks about Fade to Silence, some Borderlands 3 microtransaction nonsense, an amazing Apex Legends moment, and, if you stay after the credits, you'll be rewarded with a impassioned review of Captain Marvel. Anyway, something-something chilly and silly, cheers and enjoy the anime-zing(ly wooden) show. Anyway, that's it and that's all folks. If you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something-something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, the plentiful podcasts, the various videos, the absurd art, and all of the other nonsense we make over here at Pixelated Sausage. Thanks for being a fan.
