As we go through one of the most stressful, chaotic times in our history, it's important that we try to stay on track where our health is concerned. I don't know about you, but, this is one area I've been having a difficult time. One of the ways I like to exercise in the pool. At first, the closed the pools at our complex for the first three months. Then, they re-opened them with limited hours (8-5) all of which I would be working and unable to get there at those times. Now, I'm just very anxious about getting into the pool with this virus around. Are you feeling like you can't get your workout in they way you used to? Do you feel like you're gaining weight because of it? I do. And, it's really bothering me. So, this week I've made the decision that I will start dancing again. Join me August 8th for one of the best workouts you'll have had in decades. Daybreaker is a dance group from around the globe. I first saw them when I went to see Oprah's 2020 Vision Tour in Miami this past January and they kicked off the conference. They were such an amazing, high-energy and fun opener, we were all on our feet dancing and opening up our Chakra's it was truly spectacular. I went to one of my first virtual experiences with them and I was blown away. The theme was Dancing Through The Decades, they had Jefferson Starship playing via live-stream. Debbie Allen (choreographer from The FAME movie (my mentor during my dance career), The Village People Singing via live-stream and Gloria Gaynor singing her infamous tune "I Will Survive" and JellyBean Benitez spinning the tunes via livestream. It was truly my 2nd best Saturday morning I ever spent (Oprah was the first). You're in luck, cause she's running another one coming up on August 8th. Here's the link DAYBREAKER SIGN UP . I don't know what the theme will be, but, I'm sure, it will not disappoint. Be sure to sign up!! I'll see you there. We are stronger in numbers, let's do this! Here's to your health, fitness, happiness, love and success!! Rock On & Rock Out! Dawn-Marie XO Let's Stay in touch: IG: @lildrummergirl55 FB: Dawn-Marie Mutell

We are what we eat, that's what they say right? But, do you believe it? One of the things I found that helped keep me calm and in a better mood is to get moving more and eat better. We need to find ways to keep our stressors down and to find alternate ways of reducing stress or ways to balance our body, mind, and spirit which I believe is key to us living happier lives. Today's episode is about a couple of quick ways to help preserve them. Do you crave sugar? Who doesn't love sugar? It's one of those things we couldn't get enough of a kid - do you agree? Candy, candy, and more candy (that was our motto). We couldn't get enough of it, and, our poor parents had to deal with us on a sugar high bouncing off the walls for hours on end after we consumed our candy bar delights. As time goes by, we learn how bad sugar is for us. For a number of years now I've been trying to quit sugar. I haven't been able to quit it altogether, but I'm trying to become more diligent about the amount of it I consume. Although, I must confess, last night I was pretty bad. My beau and I consumed way too many Haagen Daz ice cream bars. They were on sale and we thought, "Why not?" We deserve a treat yes? But, then, we did it, we ate them and they were, of course, delicious but then my guilt took over. I thought to myself "why did I just let myself do this?", "I've been so good, and now I just ruined it all" has this ever happened to you? We beat ourselves up when we don't do the right thing. But, one of the things I've learned is that we shouldn't make ourselves unhappy or upset when we make a mistake. It's OK to make them just as long as we can course-correct, which is what I'm doing today. This book by JJ Virgin has helped me in the sugar craving section. I hope you'll pick up a copy if you have issues battling sugar as I do. She's pretty freakin' amazing. Or, more importantly, you just don't have the energy like you used to or you feel like your pants are getting a bit tighter? If you've answered "yes" to any of the above, then, you may want to take a quick listen to today's show. Our guest, Heather Kennedy is a Core Integrated Alignment Yoga Instructor. With her many years of experience, she can teach you how to de-stress, align your body and calm down the mind with her foundational movement classes. Heather and I met when I was at the Oprah Winfrey's 2020 Vision Tour in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, we had seats next to each other (which was amazing). As the day progressed, I learned more about what Heather does and wanted her to share the information with you, my Lifers, so she's here with us today to share some wisdom on the practice of Yoga and how it can immediately begin to shift your mind, body and spirit. You can check out a class of hers if you're in the Orlando area (visiting Disney World anytime soon?). Learn more about Heather and stay in touch with her. I met Lawrence "Lipbone" Redding the night he played at my friend Kathy’s backyard concert. I hadn’t heard of him before and promised her I’d be there to catch the show. Well, I sure was glad that I did because, although I only had an hour to catch a portion of his show, I was enthralled by his playing and what he can do vocally with his mouth, I mean the sounds he can make are unbelievable, and, all real, no trickery here. He can sound like a train, a plane or any instrument you can think of. Not only was I was floored with his musical talents, his story telling was truly captivating. He makes you feel as though you’re living it right there and then. And, let’s not forget about the humor in his show, he’ll keep you in stitches. I knew I had to get him on the show. I happened to post a short video of his performance on my IG account and said something to the effect “I’d love to get this guy on the LDG show” and he replied with a comment stating that “he’d love to be on the show”, well I couldn’t begin to tell you how thrilled I was. So I’m excited to say, he’s here with us today. A bit about Lawrence “Lipbone” Redding: He's an award-winning vocalist, guitar player, voice instrumentalist, storyteller, songwriter, author, teacher and traveler. He is best known for his one-man orchestra show; simultaneously playing, singing and making the instrument sounds with his mouth and without the use of a loop pedal. Lipbone incorporates a full spectrum of musical styles from American Roots and Jazz to throat singing and Indian Classical. In his interview today, we talk about: The importance of doing the “work” yourself, not waiting on others to do what they said they promised to do. What performing in the NYC subway tunnels for 6 years taught him about the industry as well as how it honed his skills as a performer. How he travels around the nation in his "beautiful flying machine" (what he’s coined his van). His upcoming tour “A Man With A Guitar and a Backpack” - 250 Days Around The World. The classes he teaches, (one of them will put you to sleep and that’s a good thing). The importance of keeping an art journal. And, so much more. So come along for the ride, grab your headphones, pour yourself a tall glass of your favorite beverage and come check out Lipbone’s interview. I recently was at my 3rd annual Reggae Rise Up Festival in downtown St. Petersburg when I had the chance to see the band HIRIE live in person (finally), I’ve been trying to catch them since I learned of them about 3 years ago. Today we have a special guest, Kurtis Parsons, A/K/A “Conga Kurty” is in the house. In his interview we talk about: How to survive on the road when you have severe food allergies and how they not only affect the body, but, the mind as well and what’s needed to stay fit while on tour. How his 6th grade teacher wouldn’t let him play percussion and wanted him to play the sax! (Bad move teacher). How you never know what life has in store for you and how to listen to signs. How he opened up his own organic juice bar in Mexico. How fate stepped into his path, how he met up with HIRIE when they were in town in Mexico and how they’ve been playing with them ever since. How he lives to surf and so much more. So come on and take a listen. Grab your ear buds, pour yourself a tall glass of your favorite drink and let’s get going... Episode 20 Interview With Dawn-Marie Mutell Welcome back to Heartrepreneur® Radio. I’m really glad you tuned in. It’s Terry Levine Chief Heartrepreneur. And I have someone I’m really anxious to interview today. I have so many questions so her name is Dawn-Marie Mutell and she is the founder and CEO of Life’s Necessities and Body Luxuries. So it’s a home, body, soul and lifestyling business and I had to have her on the show when I heard that description. I was like Wow! They actually call her a life commodities broker and she is very versatile. She’s a wardrobe styler, a personal stylist and a makeup artist. I want all of that. I’m just saying. She has over 25 years experience in fashion, entertainment, beauty and even an event planning businesses. As a young model and a dancer she aspired to be a dancer on Broadway and little did she know she’d be hit by a drunk driver at age 22 and her life would change forever. Her self-esteem crumbled and it took many many years to get back on track. And that’s when she decided to help others lead happy, fulfilling and beautiful lives. I am so excited to have you with us Dawn-Marie. Thank you so much for joining us. Dawn-Marie: Thank you Terry I’m honored to be here. Terri: I have to tell you I’ve gotten your file when we scheduled this and I looked you up on line and was all excited to have you and as I was reading your bio I was like Wow aspired to be on Broadway and then I was like oh my goodness. So, how did you literally, I have to ask you, how did you pick yourself up and move forward. Dawn-Marie: That’s really a good question. My parents taught me to be a strong-willed person and so that really helped me. When I was hit everything in the body went down and I thought okay the only thing I had was to aspire to be on Broadway. So I didn’t have a Plan B and my dad would always say have a Plan B. So I didn’t know what to do. Thankfully I knew how to type. I was able to get a job actually working at some music store after that. So that helped me pick up a different avenue of where I would go. So I wound up working in music business for quite a while. I said okay I can’t dance but I can still groove to the music. And so that kind of kept me going. But I still felt there was something missing in my life and one of the things I loved to do was to help people and watch them flourish. If I can lift somebody’s spirits then I’m a happy camper. I tried to find ways to do that and I started to do commercials and getting people in the music industry networking to different nightclubs and so I could connect with one another because I’m a connector. And I still felt like I’m still not doing what I wanted to do so I wound up finding a program at FIT to be an image consultant certification for 2 years and I thought OH this is it. I love fashion. My mom was a clothes horse and she really got me into fashion when I was a kid. Being a model when I was younger I was around makeup and fashion and I thought this could be a really great fit for me and that’s how I got into it and kept it going. Terri: Wow that is really cool. Thank you. I always find it interesting when we are doing our thing and life throws up some kind of crazy curve ball. We never know what the heck life has in store. And not everyone can pick themselves up and keep and go forward and what I love is not only did you do that, but then you made that decision, I’m going to help others. So what is it exactly that you do? I’m fascinated. Dawn-Marie: Well I help men and women take the pain out of trying to get ready everyday. Whether they work out of an office or if you an entrepreneur and you have to go deal with clients or you maybe are a public speaker. First impressions, I mean it used to be 30 seconds, now it’s like 3 seconds, you have to make a great impressions. Love the show? Subscribe, rate, review, and share! The first annual Et Cultura Festival , a three day annual festival of music, art and film was held in downtown St. Petersburg a few weeks ago. I'm just loving the fact that they're doing more art and music related festivals in our town. I saw that The Hip Abduction was the headlining act for the event. I wasn't familiar with them so I looked them up on YouTube and immediately fell in love with their sound. They're a Trop-Indie Band right here from our back yard - true native Floridians right from the St. Petersburg area. I reached out to Matt Poynter, the drummer for The Hip Abduction to see if he was interested in being a guest on the show and he was more than gracious to offer me not only an interview, but a press pass as well so that I would be able to shoot some footage of the show for our YouTube channel (see link below to see the video). We met at their sound check the day of the gig. Matt is such a great guy. I really enjoyed our time during the interview. Matt tours an average of 120 days of out the year and has been the group's recording and touring drummer since 2011. The band has had progressive success with the latest two albums, self-titled and "Gold Under the Glow" and continues to acquire new fans from around the globe. What I love most, is the fact that THA are native Floridians and have made it nationally. Their self-titled album was released and shot up to #2 on the iTunes Reggae Charts and #5 on the Billboard Reggae Charts in 2013. Take a listen at the link below, and, I'm sure you'll agree that they're sound will instantly transport you to an island in the sun where you can put your feet up, grab a cold one and hang out and watch the waves crash over the sand.
