ESPN broadcast the Army/UTSA game last Friday night...using the broadcast crew of Andre Ware and Anish Shroff. While describing a play during the game...Anish Shroff used terminology that ESPN deemed was grounds for termination when Doug Adler used the terminology in 2017. Yet for some reason...ESPN didn't use the same precedent with Anish Shroff. We compare the situations of Anish Shroff and Doug Adler...and the different reactions by ESPN. We discuss the blatant hypocrisy at ESPN for destroying the career and reputation of Doug Adler...while giving employees like Mark Jones a pass. We also criticize Mark Jones for being the worst broadcaster in the history of broadcasting...and question why he remains employed at ESPN.

If you want an example of what's wrong with this country, you'd be hard pressed to find a better example than ESPN. During their annual awards show this week they gave the Arthur Ashe Courage award to The US Women's Soccer team for their equal pay pursuit. ESPN then aired a video of former host and now FOX News host Will Cain from 2019. The only problem was ESPN edited the video and left out most of the things that Cain said about this topic as I play back his comments from 2019 on ESPN. Disgraceful! I then read an excerpt from Phil Mushnick's recent column in the NY Post talking about the injustice of ESPN's firing of tennis commentator Doug Adler. I had Doug on Episode 27 and play part of the interview I had with him. The message was quite simple. People in this country continue to turn their heads and remain silent about things that matter. Why isn't there more outrage towards ESPN for deliberately smearing Will Cain in front of a sellout crowd and national TV audience? Enjoy the episode! Learn more about your ad choices. What's bugging Dennis this week? Government suppression of information for one. The FTC has sent dozens of letters demanding internal memos and the names of all reporters the company had granted access to the "Twitter Files." House Republicans call it "an aggressive campaign to harass” the social media giant into not revealing the extent of government coercion under the previous Twitter leadership. And then there's the J6 tapes... In our interview segment we're joined by Doug Adler, the former ESPN tennis analyst who was one of the first casualties of cancel culture for remarks he made during a match in the 2017 Australian Open. He paid for it with his health and his career, while others at the network are still saying really outrageous stuff on the air with no consequence. All of that and the Parting Shot, too. Episode #132 features New York Post columnist, Phil Mushnick and Magnechef founder, Alfredo Infante with his son, AJ Phil Mushnick is a newspaper sports columnist for the New York Post.  He writes it like he sees or hears it, and he is unafraid to speak his mind.  We have been long-time readers and on many occasions have purchased the newspaper exclusively for his column.  Surprisingly, he is the first guest to put our names together and ask us if we knew of a baseball player named, Jeffrey (Jeff) Leonard (Jeff Leonard played 14 seasons in the Major Leagues.)   We should probably call this episode fun with Phil.  We talk about the game of baseball and the various streaming services you have to pay for in order to watch all the games.  Doug Adler, Mike Francesa, John Sterling, pet peeves, instant replay, and the state of the media today; are just some things on which Phil offers his opinions.  Phil is candid, entertaining, and very funny.  This is an episode where complaining never sounded so good.  Alfredo Infante and his son AJ join us to talk about Magnechef for which Alfredo is the founder, and baseball.  The Magnechef product receiving the well-deserved bulk of the attention is their award-winning heat-resistant barbecue gloves.  The gloves come in a wide variety of colors and are extremely versatile.  Before we get to our discussion with Alfredo we speak to AJ who is eight years old and loves playing baseball (he likes hitting better than pitching and is a fast runner), and well as discussing his favorite team, the Miami Marlins. When Alfredo is not tending to Magnechef business, he is working as a firefighter in Miami, Florida.  Anyone who participates in live-fire cooking knows the importance of protecting their hands, and these gloves will become an essential part of your cooking equipment.  At the Magnechef website, https://magnechef.com/ you will find the gloves, a few additional products, and testimonials from actual Magnechef  glove users.  Alfredo talks about his experience on the Home Shopping Network, and we discuss the possibility that Magnechef will one day become a brand synonymous with BBQ.                      We recommend you go to baseballbbq.com https://baseballbbq.com for special grilling tools and accessories, the Pandemic Baseball Book Club, https://www.pbbclub.com  to find many of the wonderful books we have featured as well as some additional swag, and BBQ Buddha, https://bbqbuddha.com/ for rubs and award-winning sauces. We conclude the show with the song, "Ace and Bobo" from the musician, Dave Dresser and the poet, Shel Krakofsky. We truly appreciate our listeners and hope that all of you are staying safe. If you're Doug Adler, you lose your job, your career, your voice and damn near your life. Doug's story is a frightening one for anyone in the media with a microphone in front of them. Describing play by Venus Williams at the Australian open in 2017 did it. Now nearly three years later, ESPN has settled with him. His story is one that should be told over and over.
