Donald Trump recently made headlines claiming that Vladimir Putin has “gone crazy” and is needlessly killing people. But is that the full story? In this episode of Ideas Have Consequences, Larry Alex Taunton takes a deep dive into the man behind the global headlines—Vladimir Putin. Is he truly spiraling into madness, as many Western leaders suggest? Or is he a calculated, pragmatic leader shaped by history, trauma, and decades of Western missteps? Taunton explores whether Putin's actions are those of a ruthless tyrant—or the result of strategic decision-making rooted in a complex past. This episode challenges prevailing narratives and asks: have we misunderstood Putin, and at what cost?

As if Donald Trump didn't already wear his autocratic aspirations on his sleeve, during an interview on Meet the Press - Kristen Walker asked him, as president if he "needed to uphold the Constitution", of course his answer was a democracy-busting, "I don't know".This is severe, reckless and stubborn disregard for the duties of an American president and luckily it could represent the impeachment icing atop the high-crimes-and-misdemeanor cake.At what point will the Republicans in Congress care about our Constitution and the constituents they represent? It's clear - the Republicans in congress need to cross the aisle to save democracy. If you're interested in supporting our all-volunteer efforts, you can become a Team Justice patron at: / glennkirschner If you'd like to support Glenn and buy Team Justice and Justice Matters merchandise visit:https://shop.spreadshirt.com/glennkir...Check out Glenn's website at https://glennkirschner.com/Follow Glenn on:Threads: https://www.threads.net/glennkirschner2Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glennkirschner2Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glennkirsch...Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/glennkirschn...TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/glennkirschner2See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday's 3 Martini Lunch as they cautiously welcome reports that the Iran-backed Houthi rebels will stop attacking ships in the Red Sea. They also dig into GOP concerns over the 2026 Senate map and expose the shocking costs and failures of President Biden's Gaza pier project.First, they react to former President Trump announcing a suspension of U.S. military operations against the Houthis, after the group pledged to cease attacks on ships near Yemen. Is this the result of overwhelming U.S. force, a concession by the Iranians in hopes of reaching a nuclear deal, both, or something else?Next, they examine growing Republican anxiety about the 2026 U.S. Senate midterms. Top GOP recruits in Georgia and New Hampshire say they will not run and things look a bit shakier than expected for incumbents in three other states. So, are Republicans just overreacting or is there cause for concern? Finally, they vent over reports that 62 U.S. service personnel were injured in various ways while assigned to construct the pier designed to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Adding insult to those injuries, the pier was only operational for a short time and much of the aid was stolen by terrorists and never given to the people in need. Please visit our great sponsors:This spring, get up to 50% off select plants at Fast Growing Trees with code MARTINI, plus an extra 15% off at checkout on your first purchase! Filmmakers and Hollywood financiers are baffled, to say the least, by President Trump's announcement that he wants a 100% tariff on movies produced outside the United States. We are now squarely in constitutional crisis territory. After the Trump administration wrongfully deported Abrego Garcia to El Salvador, the Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to facilitate his release from a prison in El Salvador and handle his case the way it would have been handled had he not been wrongfully deported.Attorney General Pam Bondi and Trump DOJ attorneys said they did not have the ability to arrange for Garcia's release and return. Yet now, Trump proved Bondi and company to be liars, as he said he absolutely could arrange for Garcia's return, but that he wouldn't.By defying the Supreme Court order, Trump is attempting to end our constitutional construct of government.Glenn reviews this legal development and argues that Trump's decision to behave like a dictator ultimately will work to his extreme detriment and lead to his downfall.
