President Donald Trump appointed Andy Puzder ambassador to the European Union this past week. But before he heads to Brussels, Puzder is warning about the left-wing scourge of stakeholder capitalism. As the former chief executive of CKE Restaurants, a major fast food corporation operating Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, Puzder knows what it takes to run a successful business. That's why he's so alarmed at the trends he's witnessing in corporate America. He spoke to The Daily Signal about his new book, “A Tyranny for the Good of its Victims: The Ugly Truth about Stakeholder Capitalism.” In this episode, we cover: • How BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street accumulated unprecedented control over U.S. corporations • The real meaning behind ESG policies and their impact on American business • Why major brands are adopting policies that seem to conflict with their customer base • The effectiveness of consumer boycotts against woke corporate policies • Capitalism's historic role in reducing global poverty Purchase your copy of “A Tyranny for the Good of Its Victims” on Amazon: https://amzn.to/4ayJ1gZ Keep Up With The Daily Signal Sign up for our email newsletters: https://www.dailysignal.com/email Subscribe to our other shows: The Tony Kinnett Cast: https://www.dailysignal.com/the-tony-kinnett-cast Problematic Women: https://www.dailysignal.com/problematic-women The Signal Sitdown: https://www.dailysignal.com/the-signal-sitdown Follow The Daily Signal: X: https://x.com/DailySignal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedailysignal/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheDailySignalNews/ Truth Social: https://truthsocial.com/@DailySignal YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/DailySignal Rumble: https://rumble.com/c/TheDailySignal Thanks for making The Daily Signal Podcast your trusted source for the day's top news. Why are companies like Disney so intent on pushing the transgender agenda? The answer lies with a small, influential group of financial elites who have hijacked American institutions to impose harmful woke policies like ESG and DEI. But here's the good news: Americans are fighting back, rejecting these radical and unjust initiatives. Andy Puzder, former CEO of Hardee's and Carl's Jr. joins The Kevin Roberts Show to expose the dangers of stakeholder capitalism and its impact on our nation. About Andy: Andrew Puzder, former Chief Executive of CKE Restaurants and economic expert, is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow for business and economic freedom at The Heritage Foundation. Puzder began his career as a commercial trial lawyer in St. Louis in 1978 and later served as the personal attorney for entrepreneur Carl Karcher. He went on to become CEO of the well-known fast food powerhouses Carl's Jr. and Hardee's chains in 2000, expanding to 3,800 locations and leading the company out of serious financial difficulties. He has authored several books, including Job Creation: How It Really Works and Why Government Doesn't Understand It; The Capitalist Comeback: The Trump Boom and the Left's Plot to Stop It; Getting America Back to Work; It's Time to Let America Work Again; and A Tyranny for the Good of its Victims: The Ugly Truth about Stakeholder Capitalism. Earlier in his career, Mr. Puzder was a commercial trial lawyer in St. Louis. He authored legislation in Missouri—acknowledging that life begins at conception and granting unborn children rights in contexts other than abortion (such as criminal, tort, and inheritance laws)—which the U.S. Supreme Court upheld in Webster v. Reproductive Health Services in 1989.

It's the home stretch of the presidential campaign with just eight days to go until Election Day. Former President Trump and Vice President Harris have been making appearances across swing states and are also stumping for Senate candidates with the balance of power on the line. Republicans are looking to pick up seats that could give them the majority in the Senate, with tight races in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Nevada. Chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) joins the Rundown to discuss the key races that will decide the balance of power, how confident he feels that Republicans could take the majority, and what fundraising has gone into the races across the nation. According to the New York City Mayor's office, over 200 thousand migrants have come to the city since 2022, and over sixty thousand are in its care. Many of these individuals struggle to receive work permits and visas, making it extremely difficult to find legal jobs. Co-host of Good Day New York, Rosanna Scotto, joins the Rundown to share what she has discovered about the NYC migrant crisis in her new FOX Nation special, The Underground Economy. Plus, commentary from senior fellow at the America First Policy Institute and the Pepperdine University School of Public Policy, Andy Puzder. (Images Via AP) Learn more about your ad choices. If you already heard it, you can fast-forward through a chunk of today's show. But don't miss the rest! Stigall tells you why last night's Al Smith charity dinner in NYC was hugely significant politically and culturally. Trump was in the zone while Kamala Harris skipped out to angrily scream instead. It feels like we're watching a campaign in collapse. (Time will tell) Plus, economist Andy Puzder speaks to the significance of Elon Musk campaigning for Trump and hear from a listener - and former RFK Jr. supporter - who attends the Elon event and is voting Trump. Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg addresses Harris' attempt to glom on to Israel's air strike killing a key Hamas leader. Big Tech wants more power for AI so they get it while you and I pay sky high energy bills. And the New York Times admits Kamala's plagiarism is real and "more serious" than first thought. -For more info visit the official website: https://chrisstigall.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisstigallshow/Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisStigallFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.stigall/Listen on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/StigallPodListen on Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/StigallShow See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Then, Dom and Puzder delve into other economic issues, including tax rates and other edicts Trump promotes that will indeed help to right a tough economy.

After much anticipation from Wall Street of a September rate cut, on Friday at their annual economic summit, Fed Chair Jerome Powell announced “the time has come for policy to adjust.” While Powell said he's confident inflation is under control, many Americans are still concerned about its impact on their finances. At the Democratic National Convention, Vice President Harris called out her campaign's policy plans to address issues like inflation and high grocery store prices. The Big Money Show co-anchor Brian Brenberg spoke with former CKE Restaurants CEO and senior fellow at the America First Policy Institute, Andy Puzder, about why incremental rate cuts won't deliver quick relief to the US economy and why he believes the Harris campaign's economic plans could be disastrous. The cracks are starting to show. The audio in today's show is really something you need to hear. From live audiences laughing at - not with - Steven Colbert and his CNN guest. Reporters are beginning to get irritated and embarassed that the radical loon governor Walz and his running mate we're pretending is Vice President won't speak to the press or answer a single question. Plus, people are speaking out about an economy that seems to be slowing down and showing signs its taking its toll on American families. Trump economist Andy Puzder explains what this election really needs to be about if we want to course correct financially. Ed Morrissey at Hot Air and Stigall discuss the faux "excitement" around Harris-Walz. The 2024 GOP candidate field is widening this week as Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) officially launched his presidential campaign on Monday, and reports suggest Florida Governor Ron DeSantis plans to announce his candidacy this week as well. As the list of Republican candidates grows, campaigning and fundraising will be sure to heat up soon. Filings show Senator Scott has entered the race with more funds than any of his competitors, with $22 million on hand, while the current leading candidate, former President Trump, only had $14 million in his campaign's war chest by the end of March. Former Deputy Chief of Staff to President George W. Bush and Fox News contributor Karl Rove joins the podcast to analyze the Senator's chances of winning the nomination and how his positive message contradicts the narrative pushed by the left. A recently unsealed court filing revealed the FBI had improperly used warrantless search powers on U.S. citizens over 278,000 times, looking into Americans involved in the Capitol riot, George Floyd protests, and more. FBI Director Wray spoke on this revelation, saying the FBI's misusing Section 702 of FISA was a mistake that drove the bureau to make stricter changes to the system. Some lawmakers are not trusting these mistakes won't happen again, saying they want to see even tighter restrictions on the bureau's warrantless search tool, which should only be allowed to acquire intelligence on foreign targets. Retired FBI Special Agent John Iannarelli joins the Rundown to discuss how he believes this surveillance tool came to be misused by the FBI, the threat posed by politicization within the bureau, and what the intelligence organization must do to regain the trust of the American people. Plus, commentary by the former CEO of CKE Restaurants and Hardee's, Andy Puzder. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Republican House members may soon face the challenge of accomplishing things on their agenda in a very divided government. FOX News Sunday Host Shannon Bream joins the Rundown to discuss the obstacles the new majority may face, and what legislation they hope to pass.
