RUNDOWN Mitch and Hotshot break down the massive Seahawks–49ers matchup, laying out the stark difference between winning the NFC's top seed versus entering the playoffs as a road-bound wild card. They debate San Francisco's battered defense, Seattle's dominant defense, and whether Sam Darnold can rediscover the early-season form that once put him in MVP conversations—especially after scoring just 18 total first-half points over the last four games. Mitch floats a classic emotional hedge: bet the 49ers money-line so a Seahawks win feels priceless and a loss at least comes with consolation cash. Mitch and Brady Henderson break down Seattle's 27–10 win over Carolina, praising another elite defensive performance while sounding alarms about the offense's habit of slow starts and turnovers, with just 18 first-half points over the last four games. They preview Saturday night's NFC West showdown in Santa Clara, weighing a battered 49ers defense against Brock Purdy's red-hot offense and debating which version of Sam Darnold shows up. The segment closes with Taco Time honors for DeMarcus Lawrence and Zach Charbonnet, as Seattle stands one win away from the NFC's No. 1 seed and a first-round bye. Rick Neuheisel joins Mitch for a wide-ranging College Football Playoff preview, diagnosing Clemson's 7–6 collapse as the moment NIL and the portal finally "happened" to Dabo Swinney, and reacting with surprise to Kyle Whittingham leaving Utah for Michigan as a potential cleanup hire. Neuheisel breaks down all four CFP games, backing Ohio State to survive Miami, Texas Tech to upset Oregon, Indiana to knock off Alabama, and Ole Miss to take down Georgia. He locks in Ole Miss plus the points as his official pick, staying hot at 8–6 against the spread while handing out Taco Time honors along the way. All right, college sports fans -- today we break down what Clemson's loss to Penn State means for Dabo Swinney's future, the Tigers' offseason roster changes, and the outlook for Dabo Swinney as 2026 arrives. Clemson's offensive struggles and injury‑depleted defense were major factors in the Pinstripe Bowl, showing a lack of depth in talent with the transfer portal about to open. The loss in the season finale of a deeply disappointing year raises unavoidable questions about the Tigers' identity and development, with answers needed quickly during a pivotal offseason in Clemson. In this episode, we'll take a close at major factors to consider during Swinney's evaluation of his coaching staff evaluation, including the decisions of whether or not to retain or replace offensive coordinator Garrett Riley and quarterback Christopher Vizzina – plus, what part of the program might need a true reset most of all. We're glad you found us, be sure to comment at YouTube.com/ClemsonKickoff to share your thoughts!

If you want uncommon results, you have to live by uncommon standards, especially on the days you do not feel like showing up. In this mashup episode, I'm bringing together some of the most disciplined competitors and leaders I've ever sat down with to break down what consistency and commitment really look like when the lights are off and no one is clapping. You're going to hear from people who have won at the highest levels of sports, business, leadership, and life, and every one of them shares the same truth. Success is not built in moments. It is built in habits. Troy Aikman takes us inside what it really means to be trusted as a leader when everything is on the line. He shares why the greats are never outworked, how daily preparation creates belief inside a locker room, and why commitment is proven long before game day. Jim Rome brings his trademark intensity and clarity, challenging the excuses we make and exposing why most people talk about wanting it but never back it up with action. His message is simple and uncomfortable. Consistency is not sexy, but it is undefeated. Gerard Adams opens up about discipline in entrepreneurship and why momentum is built by honoring small promises to yourself every single day. Dabo Swinney shares how faith, standards, and consistency shape culture, not just wins, and why who you become matters more than what you achieve. And Mark “The Undertaker” Calaway gives one of the most powerful reminders you will ever hear about longevity, professionalism, and showing up prepared for decades, not seasons. This episode is about doing the work when motivation fades. It is about staying committed when results are slow. And it is about building a life you can count on because you have become someone who can be counted on. If you feel stuck, inconsistent, or frustrated with your progress, this conversation will reset your standards and remind you what winning actually requires. You do not need more inspiration. You need more follow through. This episode will challenge you to raise your standards, lock in your habits, and finally live with the level of commitment your goals demand. Key Takeaways: Why consistency beats talent every single time How elite leaders earn trust through daily preparation The difference between being interested and being committed Why small habits done daily create massive long term momentum How discipline creates confidence even before results show up What it really takes to sustain excellence over decades, not months

On today’s episode, Jason discusses the Seattle Seahawks' thrilling overtime victory over the Los Angeles Rams, how the San Francisco 49ers could ultimately swipe the top seed in the NFC from Seattle in Week 18, and the narrative that Matthew Stafford 'lost' the MVP last night. All right, college sports fans -- Clemson vs. Penn State is set as the Pinstripe Bowl matchup, and our first preview of the game in NYC is here!
All right, college sports fans -- it's time to talk football recruiting as Early Signing Day brought Clemson a surprise on the defensive side of the ball to help make up for a few decommits. Dabo Swinney has plenty to smile about, starting with six offensive linemen (the size of class we've hoped for, nice work Matt Luke!), and including two quarterbacks to go with three top-end wide receivers. Get the details, from Kentavion "Polo" Anderson to Shavar Young, without too much of a deep dive right here. Be sure to comment with your takes, or any questions. We're glad you found us!
Tron Foster, 23, had been suffering from cancer for many years and wasn't doing well in recent weeks. He wanted to do something he'd never done before: Attend a Clemson-South Carolina game and watch his beloved Tigers play. Russ Lloyd, an ardent Gamecock fan, heard about Tron's story and hosted Tron and his family at his tailgate in Columbia before the game. Tron also got to visit with Dabo Swinney two hours before the game when Swinney walked off the team bus. Swinney gave him a hug, told him he loved him and handed him a cross. Lloyd arranged for Tron to have sideline passes to the game, but Tron was having trouble breathing so his family had to take him back to the Upstate before the game began. After the game Swinney talked about Tron in his press conference. Back home, Tron watched a replay of Swinney's words and smiled wide. "Now I'm famous," he said. Tron passed away later that evening. In this podcast we speak with Lloyd, and the Kyle family (Kristina, Wayne and son Caleb) to learn more about Tron's story. Tron was like a sixth son to Kristina and Wayne, and like a brother to Caleb. Tron was an avid, gifted fisherman who was beloved by everyone he met. The final day of his life was one of the best days of his life.

Hey there college sports fans, we've got full-game analysis of Clemson's 28-14 win at South Carolina on Saturday, putting a good feeling on the end of a disappointing 7-5 season for the Tigers football program. Who shined against the Gamecocks to make the win possible, and what can this victory do to help Dabo Swinney find positive momentum to use for recruiting as Early Signing Day 2026 approaches? How can Clemson take the right lessons out of its four-game win streak to close the regular season and make sure next year won't be as disappointing – especially with key starters such as Cade Klubnik, Adam Randall, Antonio Williams and others moving on from their college careers? We'll run through everything we saw take place in Columbia and discuss what it means for the Palmetto Bowl rivalry as well as for new endeavors next year? Jump on over to YouTube.com/ClemsonKickoff and be sure you comment with your takes as well. We're glad you found us!

It's not difficult to understand why the 6-5 Clemson Tigers listed as underdogs going into Palmetto Bowl week at South Carolina against the 4-7 Gamecocks, but it still might be surprising to see. But when you take stock of the issues with the Clemson defense last year, as well as the injuries along the Tigers offensive line this year, it's easier to see why this matchup's variables come into play and swing toward the home team being the favorite. We jump into what Dabo Swinney needs to see from offensive coordinator Garrett Riley and quarterback Cade Klubnik if the two-time national-championship head coach is to avoid his third loss in four seasons at the hands of South Carolina. Being a host for Clemson's flagship radio station is fine and dandy when the Tigers are winning championships. But what about when they're cratering to 1-3 and 3-5 records in a season that was supposed to usher them back to the rare air of the elite? That's a much tougher and more awkward line to navigate, as William Qualkinbush shares in a conversation with The Dubcast. Qualkinbush and other hosts at WCCP-FM haven't held back in criticizing the Tigers or head coach Dabo Swinney this season, and he says the station has gotten no blowback from the school, athletics department or football office. Qualkinbush hosts a weekday show from noon to 3 on WCCP, in addition to various play-by-play duties for Clemson Athletics.
Paul Catalina — Host of 365 Sports and creator of Paul Catalina's Top Five — breaks down the five coaches who will “barely make it out alive” this season, spotlighting the men who survived the hot seat but won't escape the pressure in 2025. Paul explains why Chris Klieman, despite past success, faces growing frustration in Manhattan, and why Dabo Swinney's situation at Clemson is beginning to mirror the final years of Mack Brown. #collegefootball #cfb #cfp #acc #big12 #bigten #sec #top5 Learn more about your ad choices. Clemson graduate Mark Packer returned to his alma mater last week to speak to the Fort Hill Clemson Club and to dot the "i" on the field before the Tigers' victory over Florida State. Packer has been enjoying retirement since stepping away from the ACC Network this past summer. He said working for ESPN the previous three years was highly frustrating in part because he didn't have total control over his show, and he'd get pushback whenever he stuck up for the ACC. He has plans to write a book about his professional life, and he'll include his experiences with ESPN. Packer also looks back on the iconic "Primetime with the Packman" radio show that was popular for more than a decade in North Carolina and South Carolina. He tells the remarkable story of how the 'QCB' became a fixture on the show. He also reminisces about James Brown and his entourage showing up unannounced at the Charlotte-based studios and spending a rollicking hour on the air with Packer and Co. Packer also recalls the wee hours of the Northern California night in January of 2019 when he interviewed Dabo Swinney on the field at Levi's Stadium when no one else was around. Packer thinks Swinney has to do some significant adapting to move past this disastrous season and put Clemson back on footing with the best in college football.

It is that time of year again! The time when attention shifts away from the AP Poll and moves over to the College Football Playoff rankings. Tuesday, the College Football Playoff committee released the initial rankings for 2025. Ohio State remained at the top followed by Indiana, Texas A&M and Alabama to round out the top four. One of the most notable rankings was that of two teams who played earlier in the year. Miami, who has been struggling as of recently, came in at 18. That fell well behind a team they beat in Notre Dame who is sitting at 10. Also, the Big 12 appears to be in position to get two teams into the playoff, while the ACC looks like it will be a one-team league. Andy Staples, Steven Godfrey and Ross Dellenger discuss all of the drama and voice their thoughts on all of the attention surrounding this first rendition of the rankings. Plus, the guys take a look at what the bracket would look like if the playoff started today!Later, the guys discuss the top team in the country. The Ohio State Buckeyes. Such a dominant season has not created much drama to talk about for this team, however Andy, Ross and Godfrey look at just how dominant they have been. Is this success due to a lackluster schedule, or is this team on a path to another national title? On the flip side, could the lack of competition hinder Ohio State in the long run as they go on to face far more difficult competition in the College Football Playoff? And, what about their hated rivals, the Michigan Wolverines? Is this the year Ohio State can snap the four-game losing streak, or will Michigan prevail once again? Then, the guys take a look at a team who had similar expectations as Ohio State in the preseason, but their season has gone far differently. The Clemson Tigers. Dabo Swinney's team has struggled tremendously this season and it appears that Swinney's method of coaching may not be holding up in the new era of college football. Is this the beginning of the end for Swinney at Clemson? Should Dabo move on from coaching or just move on from Clemson?
