A clear explanation of how to colorwash in sports. Simply horrible in 2025.
A perfect exposé of the incapable USTA and how the top executives lie, deceive, and nothing happens other than the sport being slowly killed by the very people entrusted to protect it.
A five-minute exposé of the rot that the USTA represents for our sport. We need them out, and we need them out NOW
I met Rex Kulman and his father Guy when he was 8 years old at the Oracle Challenger in 2020, just days before the world quarantined. Five years later Rex is an elite 13 year old player, approaching a 10 UTR, is home schooled, and is coached full time by Diego Moyano, the former coach of Coco Gauff and Frances Tiafoe, respectively. Rex has trained at McEnroe Academy, Mouratoglou Academy, as well as the USTA's campus in Lake Nona and in Queens. Most recently Rex played in ITF Junior tournaments in Havana and Jamaica, and we talked about it all. His unique life in tennis is fascinating, and I hope every parent and child in tennis has a listen. Recorded 4.28 Released 4.30 Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The sad truth about the limitations of the USTA executives is that they listen to a clear explanation of how mediocre and limited-minded people destroy an entire sport for a nation with $600M per year to grow it. All they grow and improve are the bathrooms for bankers and hedge fund managers. This clearly explains how the incapables are a true failure as managers, executives, Americans, and of course, as men.
Compare Yale's letter to save the institution to the useless USTA executives who steal from the sport they are entrusted to serve and save.
An article worth listening to that describes just how poor the USTA leadership is.
On the 244th episode of the GreatBase Tennis podcast, Steve Smith, Dave Anderson, and Ivan Ozerets interview Dave Sivertson. On the podcast previous to this edition, Dave shared information, ideas, and insights related to on-court success. The USTA national title holder and ITF international team champion has been equally as successful off the court as on. He is in his fifth decade working as a tennis director. Dave has served as a tennis director for some of the most prestigious tennis clubs in the United States.Dave has written a 400-page business program for club managers and tennis professionals to improve the productivity and profitability of their tennis operations. The written work is called 'Net Profits.' https://www.netprofittennis.com/To name a few of the industry awards he has won are the USPTA National Pro of the Year, the USPTA Texas Pro of the Year, and the Lloyd Sessions Education Award. He is a master pro with the USPTA (now RSPA) and has served the organization as a speaker, educator, committee member, and officer of the board.
In six minutes you will realize why the USTA leadership must resign, a complete waste of time and disrespect for our sport and kids. Listen to it and share it, this way the more people know the better off the sport it.

ParentingAces - The Junior Tennis and College Tennis Podcast
Welcome to Season 13 Episode 41 of the ParentingAces Podcast, a proud member of the Tennis Channel Podcast Network. This week, Colette Lewis of ZooTennis joins me to discuss upcoming changes to junior tennis at both the ITF and USTA levels. This episode was born out of an email I received from a member of the ParentingAces community asking about the potential trickle-down effect of a recent ITF announcement that coaching will be allowed at ITF Junior tournaments beginning in 2025. Who better to discuss this topic than Colette who attends several ITF Junior events throughout the year in addition to the Junior Grand Slams. She spends a good amount of her time at those events talking with coaches, federation insiders, and others about the state of junior tennis and what may be coming down the pike. Colette and I discuss the potential impact of allowing coaching at junior tournaments as well as today's announcement from the USTA that it will be using electronic line calling (ELC) at the upcoming National Indoor tournament. There are still many, many unanswered questions, but I hope this conversation will lead to clarification from our governing bodies and better education for all involved. If you aren't already, be sure to subscribe to Colette's daily e-newsletter at https://tenniskalamazoo.blogspot.com/. You can also follow her on X at https://x.com/zootennis. In the first of a two-part series, John Embree reminisces about working as the first head of the USTA League and the NTRP system governing all USTA League players 44 years later. He explained that the goal of having one system for all adult players was considered unreachable when it was first proposed. He added, “One of the attractions about the USTA League program is that we have sectional and national championships.” In our second podcast with John, he outlines his 11 years as the United States Professional Tennis Association CEO until his retirement this year.

Taylor Townsend is one of my favorite current professional tennis players because she's unrelentingly aggressive. She's a serve and volleyer which is something no one does anymore! And she's a survivor. Her journey has put her through a lot—she was the best junior player in the world when the USTA refused to back her because, well, she weighs more than the average player. But she was beating everyone! She's been away recently on maternity leave but she'll be back on the WTA circuit soon. We talk about technique, growing as a player, dealing with the USTA, playing against Serena, and much more. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
