Taking a summer vacation was a challenge this year, so The Game Brass created their own! Their third full-length album: Brassino Isles Tropical Cruise takes listeners on a voyage to Dragon Roost Island, Treasure Trove Cove, Monkey Island, and many other ports of call. The Game Brass also brought along some friends! They invited a who's who of game music performers to add to the fun. Every track features a different musican or ensemble, including Disco Cactus, Grant Kirkhope, Ocobanda, the Videri String Quartet and many others. I talked with some of The Game Brass about putting the album together: John Robert Matz and Robby Dugay, trumpets, Daniel Romberger, trombone and theramin, John Stacey, horn, Alex Hill, tuba and their arranger, Thomas Kresge. Members of the Game Brass said that not only was putting together the album a lifeline during the pandemic quarantine, creating videos to accompany each track was really fun. The album is available on The Game Brass's Bandcamp, and other

With his mysterious boat companion, the King of Red Lions, the young boy from Outset Island sets off on a quest to recover the three pearls of the Old Goddesses guarded by the powerful spirits of the Great Sea, in hopes that he may gain the power to rescue his sister from the wicked Ganon. We discuss the dark fate of the gorons, the chill nature of Valoo the Sky Spirit, and how the Great Deku Tree created Lordran.
Get ready for "Tangents 64". Special guest Dawn Ferron joins Moe, Jacob, and Michael to talk about the loveliest grandmas, the validity of Ganon in the Zelda cannon and we compare fruits. Also, Dawn steals Jacob's childhood. "Why can't you compare apples and oranges?" We have delayed the second part of our Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker series to Wednesday, October 4th. On this week's episode, Alex and Brandon chat about their angsty teenage years.Alex and Brandon have been keeping pretty busy, but they didn't want to leave you without something to listen to during your tryptophan induced coma, so here you go. After talking about what's been happening in their lives and bemoaning the lack of subscription boxes, they cover the ABC's of Geekdom segment and talk about one of the coolest movie monsters of all time. Then they cover corrections from the previous show, including Sicario, Ciaran Hinds, a Smuggler's Bounty hat, Wallace and Gromit, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, Young Justice, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, X-Force, Rayman, South Park games, Voltron, Doctor Strange (spoilers from 37:28-42:46), and cool shiny Pokémon. After the break, the boys come back to discuss a plethora of new trailers, including Kong: Skull Island, Ghost in the Shell, Full Metal Alchemist, Justice League Dark, Beauty and the Beast, Pokémon Sun and Moon, and the newest season of the Pokémon anime. They also discuss some hot news, including a new director for Deadpool 2, a director for the new Mortal Kombat movie, Emilia Clarke in the upcoming Han Solo solo movie, a Planet of the Apes/Green Lantern crossover comic, Steve Carell in the Minecraft movie, The Last of Us movie delayed, Defenders of the Triforce, a Green Hornet reboot, legal shenanigans between Marvel and Fox, Inhumans coming to ABC, an adaptation of Happy coming to SyFy, a new Guardians of the Galaxy game from Telltale, and the Cloak and Dagger show being delayed. With all of that covered, the boys take yet another trip down memory lane, this time looking back on the nerdy stuff they did in high school, and getting more emotional than expected. Then they wrap up the show with an all new Fan Fic Fights, which can only be described as the most exciting staff meeting of all time. This is your final reminder to watch the movie Lincoln and send in your emails before we discuss it on the show next week. A podcast divided against itself cannot stand, so hopefully we feel the same way about this movie.Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @AtariAlex, and @Megsikouicorean. On this week's episode, Alex and Brandon chat in astral projection form.Brandon decided to finally make some time for the podcast, but his lovely attitude hasn't changed one bit. After catching up on their lives, they start things off by opening a plethora of packages, including the Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty Death Star box, the DC Legion of Collectors Batman Villains box, and a mystery package from Josh of Toys for Games. Head over to Alex's Twitter account to see a Periscope of the event and an extra video-only surprise! With all of his new goodies in hand, Alex then moves on the this week's ABC's of Geekdom segment and talks about a British chap with a hankering for cheese. Next, they get into corrections from the previous show, including Alex's Doctor Strange t-shirt, Funko subscription box mugs, Alex's Doctor Strange Pop!, Titus Andromedon, Ursula on Once Upon a Time, the last TMNT movie, Silver Banshee, Psychic Terrain, Bucky's favorite fruit, Perfect Couples, Princess Nine, Nyssa al Ghul, the CW, Jamie Campbell Bower, Zack Snyder, Kismet, the MCU lineup, Pokkén Tournament, the Flash movie, Rambo, Cillian Murphy, Inception, Aladdin, Something Borrowed, Mighty Ducks 2, Robocop 3, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and an update to a previous Fan Fic Fight. After the break, they come back and talk about the most important news in the podcast's history; the return of Young Justice. After much rejoicing and revels, they go on to talk about a couple trailers, Underworld: Blood Wars and Valerian. Next, they cover the news from the past week, including Pokémon leaks from Coro Coro, the title of Pacific Rim 2, Tom Holland's future in the MCU, Michael Keaton's role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the robot of the X-Men franchise, Deadpool 3, a Ubisoft Netflix series, two new actors for Jurassic World 2, and a live action Voltron movie. For the feature topic this week, the boys give their reviews of the newest movie to the MCU, Doctor Strange (spoilers from 1:25:45-2:11:30). After answering a couple of listener emails, they finish up the show with an all new Fan Fic Fights between two very colorful adversaries. Finally, Brandon has chosen the next movie for us to all watch and discuss, and his pick this time is Lincoln. So get out your stovepipe hats and come back in two weeks ready to talk about a civil war that doesn't involve a man in tights and a man in a flying suit.Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @AtariAlex, and @Megsikouicorean. Tune in as we find out how Taylor got her start, how she develops her music, and what her favorite RPG soundtrack is. We also listen to some of Taylor's beautiful arrangements and original pieces.
This episode takes video game music away from its electronic roots to focus on music played by acoustic instruments. We find variety, with not only acoustic guitar but also piano, organ, and other instrumentation.Download MP3 Tracklist (full info here):
