Today's Broadcast is the entire collection of every single track featured on Nerd Noise Radio - Channel 2 during Calendar 2023 (Season 3). All the conversation and dialog have been scrapped, so these are music-only. 5 little mini-blocks, kinda like 5 little "mini Ch 1s with no intros or outros", all shared back to back....to back, to back, to back. C2R3 (our best of year in review episode - as in "Channel 2 Retrospective 3") is coming very soon, and today's MEGA MIX collection is meant to induce a little excitement for that! Do you think you can suss out which tracks will be chosen by each host? C2R3 will feature four tracks from each episode (one track of each host....by each host - a la HH HJ JH JJ) plus one "wildcard" track apiece - which are used as the episode bookends. NOTE 1: The tracks will be presented here in the same order in which they appeared in the original episodes, which in the case of C2E11, C2E12, C2E14, and C2E15 should all flow pretty naturally, as we do strive for at least some solid flow in the track ordering. However, since C2E13 is a focus on composers and follows the composer flow instead of the musical flow, that portion of today's journey may seem more haphazard and all over the place as a result. :-) NOTE 2: With the lone exception of C2E13, Hugues and I take perfect turns sharing tracks on the episodes, as in, like JHJHJHJ or HJHJHJHJ. But with C2E13, we were taking turns by composer, rather than by track, and we'd each pick a track from each composer, resulting in a turn order that looks more like JHHJJHHJJHHJJH. If you're interested in following along with who picked what as you listen, you're probably better served to follow the track notes for C2E13. With the others, you just have to know who's going first, but C2E13 is more complex, and would require more attention. ---------------------------------------------------------- Episode: C2E11 - "It's SPACETIME" Originally released: 03/03/2023 Episode Theme: Space Music Episode Theme by: St. John Episode Title by: St. John Opening Track: St. John Closing Track: Hugues Episode Link: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkLnBvZGJlYW4uY29tL25lcmRub2lzZXJhZGlvL2ZlZWQueG1s/episode/bmVyZG5vaXNlcmFkaW8ucG9kYmVhbi5jb20vNmE2MmZjZjctYjAyMS0zZGM4LTgzY2ItMTc1ODcwMzQxMzli?sa=X&ved=0CAUQkfYCahcKEwjojaS965aDAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQAQ Episode Timestamps: 00:00:00 - 00:42:20 Tracklist Track# - Track - Game - System - Composer(s) - Selected By - Timestamp 01) Snow on the Moon - Fantavision (NA) - PS2 - Ashif Hakik - St. John - 00:00:00 02) Moon's Surface - Dig Dug Arrangement - Multiplatform - c: Yuriko Keino / a: Unknown - Hugues - 00:04:55 03) Terran Theme 3 - Starcraft - PC - Glenn Stafford, Jason Hayes, Derek Duke, Big Tuna, and/or Tracy W. Happy Thanksgiving and the happiest of Black Fridays to you all! **Spoilers in this episode** This week we're joined by Kolby, Tyler and Jared to discuss the one and only, Tears of the Kingdom. Arguably one of the best Zelda games ever and in the upper echelon of 2023, Zelda has been a constant since it dropped earlier this May. In this show we jump in the deep end to discuss what makes this title special and why you deserve to continue your play-through. As previously mentioned at the top of the description, we're going full blown spoiler mode, it's almost impossible to avoid - so if you need to, play first and come back later. It's Pride month once again, and what better way to kick off the celebrations than by diving paraglider-first into a hearty discussion on one of the biggest and best games of the year. It's Zelda time!!! Our favorite androgynous femmeboy girltwink swordsman is back and this time? He has a sexy goat-man's arm grafted onto him.The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been one of our most anticipated games ever since it was first announced, and now that we finally have our hands on it we can safely say it did NOT disappoint! It manages to take everything we loved about its brilliant predecessor Breath of the Wild and iterate on it and improve it in every way. There's also a LOT of queer stuff in this game. From a side-quest about a drag queen fashion designer running for mayor of her conservative hometown, to a queer-coded fish prince who is head-over-heels in love with our protagonist Link, there are so many gay adventures in this massive open-world game, and it feels like we're just scratching the surface.Gizmodo Article - A Link Between Genders: Trans Joy and the Legend of Zelda by Linda Codega ================Get in touch with us!EMAIL US at gayforplaypodcast@gmail.comFOLLOW G4P Twitter: @GayForPlayPodInstagram: @GayForPlayPodTwitch: twitch.tv/gayforplaypodSupport the Show & Unlock Bonus Episodes on our PATREON========CREDITSIntro and outro music by Connor Marsh (@connorjmarshmallow)Show art by Benny Kessler (@retro.spectacle.studio)Special thanks to our patrons: Blueberri Mary, Elijah Punzal, Trevor McTavish, Travis Ryans & Martha Turner

Our Outro Music is Results Parade from the Check Mii Out Channel on the Wii, composed by Kazumi Totaka. Produced using Ardour 6 / Audacity 3 in Ubuntu Studio [Linux] 22.04 A few important milestones in 2020 / 2021 that I had failed to mention in the intro, but which deserve mentioning: A) we had our first Ch 1 episode by Hugues (which was also the first Ch 1 in the entire show's history that St. John had absolutely no hand whatsoever in producing. It was a focus on music fromFalcomgames, and was quite succinctly named "The Falcom Episode" B) We made the migration from producing Nerd Noise Radio in GarageBand via MacOS on a mac mini (and using primarily MP3s in production – mostly through YouTube-to-MP3 websites) to producing NNR in a mix of Audacity andArdourvia Ubuntu Studio (Linux) on a mix of a Dell Latitude Laptop and my custom-built gaming PC (and using primarily WAVs in production – mostly through the youtube-dl command in the Linux terminal). The last episode to be produced in Mac was C1E52: Backtracks (April 1st 2020) and the first episode to be produced in Linux was Channel F: Backtracks – the OTHER 50 (April or May 2020). I feel like the production value on balance is noticeably and appreciably better after the change. And since Hugues is also a Linux user, that means that both sides of our Channel 2 episodes are Linux productions. Today's Broadcast is C1E60, for Theme Thursday, December 23rd, 2021 - our final episode of our very non-standard two-year long “Season 4”. So it is fitting that we'd end such a wildly non-standard season - filled with primarily wildly non-standard content already - with such a dramatically non-standard Channel 1 episode. Today's episode abandons the customary Channel 1 “great big music block” mixtape format for a modified take on the original W.A.R.T. Radio format, featuring Trey Johnson of Nintendomain / W.A.R.T. Radio and St. John. Today's episode is also a “Lost Level”, as it was originally intended to be a Channel F bonus “F-isode” to supplement “C1E40 - Listener Picks - vol. 1” from December 2018, and was intended to release right after it, in a nearly identical presentation to what you receive today. As such, today's broadcast shall be “Listener Picks - vol. 2”. All music, other than the background music for the speaking portions was curated by listeners of the show, and are the roughly 60 remaining unused tracks from the pool of roughly 100 that were offered up for C1E40 in 2018, of which only 40 were used. p.s. We apologize for the uncharacteristically poor audio quality on St. John's speaking voice. Details available upon request, but the short version is that John had technical difficulties on his end of the recording with "the good mic", but fortunately, we had a lower-quality backup recording on Trey's end over Zoom using St. John's built-in laptop mic. The sound quality is diminished, but the content is still preserved. Ben and Tao step aboard a floating shanty town in the purgatory of Afterlife, meeting spirits and harvesting crops in 2D platformer farming sim, Spiritfarer. Ben is grumpier than usual, testing the question, ‘How bad tempered is too bad tempered to record a podcast?' While Tao stoically hunts for redeeming game design features. It's an admirable effort. The duo touch on minor story spoilers but nothing that would detrimentally affect gameplay more than the game mechanics themselves. (Guess who wrote these Show Notes?) Content Warning: PEGI 13. Cancer, protracted dwelling on death, dead kids. It's a bundle of laughs. Clarifications: All Spiritfarer game music is composed by the brilliant, Max LL The YouTuber Ben refers to is Jack Pierce, with his video, The Power of Music in Film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSkJFs7myn0 Othercide is a horror-themed tactical role-playing video game developed by French independent video game development studio Lightbulb Crew and published by Focus Home Interactive. Horses have been a staple of the Zelda franchise since Ocarina of Time, and Breath of the Wild continues that tradition, even incorporating specific music for while you're riding! Riding (Night), composed by Manaka Kataoka, is one of David's favorite tracks from the game, and for a very specific reason. Take a listen and ride along!Follow VGMusings at http://www.facebook.com/VGMusingsTheme song commissioned from Popskyyhttp://popskyy.bandcamp.comhttp://twitter.com/popskyySupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/vgmusings)
Our two top 30 games of the generation lists conclude this week, as we each read out our personal 15 best games on PS4, Xbox One and Wii U. This week's music is from the Mario Kart 8 soundtrack by Shiho Fujii, Atsuko Asahi, Shinji Hosoe, Ryo Nagamatsu and Yasuaki Iwata, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild soundtrack by Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata and Hajime Wakai.
We've all been there. That one rogue you keep fighting just won't stop coming back, or that boss you think you've finally beaten still has one more form you have to destroy. It's annoying. Unless it's amazing. What's also amazing is when composers go above and beyond and compose a theme for each boss's fight or phase. Coming off of last week's episode featuring songs picked by Bedroth, this episode is Shootkapow's, who picked not only the topic, but all of the songs - each coming from a game that promintently features sword-swinging characters! Inspired by the "too many swords" jokes about Smash Bros, Shootkapow takes us on another ride through the wide world of VGM across multiple console generations. We hope you like Zelda, Fire Emblem, and RPG's, folks! As always, of course, it all follows our one big rule: everything has to be Very Good Music! Thanks to our listeners, Dan Laughton, UtopiaNemo, Voltz Supreme, and RJ Garcia, for our lightning round picks! As always, if you have any comments, questions, or requests, please send them to verygoodmusicvgm@gmail.com, or leave a comment on YouTube! Shout out to Ben "The Diad" Dishman for his help with the awesome pixel art for our show! Check out his stuff @TheDiad! Another extended play, very non-standard format, very talk-heavy retrospective of the first 49 episodes and three years of the show - in the style of an old W.A.R.T. Radio episode meets The Diad Presents meets Sound Test Roulette meets VGM Jukebox – multiple short micro-music-blocks with talking between. Part 2 is "personal picks" - picks that I really like myself, most of which were near picks from my previous two "Best of 20XX – John's Picks" episodes - 1 track from each previous episode (minus best-of episodes), tracks chosen by either John or the listeners in any "Best of 20XX" installment are ineligible for The Golden Episode (and if a track that appeared in say, Episode 2, was chosen, but it also appears in Episode 17, 36, and 48, it is stricken from the eligible pool all the same. Each track must be totally unique to a "Wayback Wednesday" episode of NNR, which narrows the playing field, both in terms of tracks I can pick for myself as well as tracks I can pick for the listeners (part 1). Each micro-music-block will be five tracks long, and each will represent the episode which it comes from. Rather than the usual NNR practice of focusing on the music block creating a logical, pleasing "flow", the Golden Episode (both parts one and two) will focus instead on playing the tracks in episode order. So they won't flow nearly as well (unless by happy accident). But they will run in the order in which they appeared in the history of the show. Differing priorities this time. A typical NNR episode is all about a "journey through sound", and of course, this episode is that as well to some extent, but the real priority here is not about being a "journey through sound", but instead, is about being a "journey through time". Here are the tracklists for the micro-music blocks for part 2, the "personal picks" installment: Show Intro Music: somer assault (episode 1) - 00:00:00 Block 1 – Episodes 1-5 (2017 – part 1) BGM Block 1 Music: yuukai douchuuki arcade (Episode 2) Spoken Introduction - 00:05:04 01) Title – Spider-Man / X-Men – SNES – Tim and/or Geoff Follin - 00:13:06 02) Track 11 – Illusion Blaze – DOS – D.AC. - 00:14:07 03) Aitos – Actraiser – SNES – Yuzo Koshiro - 00:16:41 04) After the Battle – Loz: TP – Gamecube / Wii – Toru Minegishi and/or Asuka Ohta - 00:19:24 05) The Mechanic – Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake – MSX (SCC) - The Konami Kukeiha Club - 00:21:40 Block 2 – Episodes 6-10 (2017 – part 2) BGM Block 2 Music: Fushigi no Umi no Nadia (episode 10) Spoken Introduction - 00:23:42 06) September 2015 - N/A (System Music) - 3DS / WiiU – Kazumi Totaka - 00:30:22 07) Jiji Theme – Sword of Vermilion – Genesis – Hiroshi Kawaguchi and/or Yasuhiro Takagi - 00:33:33 08) Citizens of Luala - N/A (Battle of the Bits) - N/A (TG16) - Strobe - 00:34:18 09) Juno Unleashed – The Force Unleashed – Multi – Mark Griskey - 00:37:19 10) Space Opera – Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose – SNES – Kazuhiko Uehara and/or Yukie Morimoto - 00:38:23 Block 3 – Episodes 11-15 (2017 – part 3) BGM Block 3 Music: Tyr (Heavy Armor) - Cosmic Carnage (Episode 13) Spoken Introduction - 00:41:06 11) Enemy Turn (Stages 6-10) - Hisou Kihei X-Serd – PC Engine – Masaya Sound Team - 00:53:06 12) Stage 1 – Alien 3 – Genesis – Matt Furniss - 00:54:28 13) Zena Lan (Light Armor) - Cosmic Carnage - 32X – Hikoshi Hashimoto - 00:56:59 14) Lazarus (feat. *tap tap* (microphone feedback) This thing still work? Well well, it's been quite a long time now hasn't it? It's been an incredibly busy year for Kamille and Joe. Turns out having a baby and moving can derail even the most concrete of plans, and also doesn't leave as much time for gaming or podcasting as we'd like. We're hoping to get back in the podcasting game soon, and have a few ideas of games we'd like to cover. But for now enjoy this timely episode of 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Breath of the Wild was developed and published by Nintendo of course, directed by Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and was composed by Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, and Hajime Wakai. Listen along as hosts Kamille, Joe, and Adrian gush about what makes this one of the greatest games ever made. From the artwork, sense of adventure, to the amount of experimentation the game allows, the game is truly one of the best. It's not all peaches and cream though, as Joe is very critical of the stamina system and breakable weapons in the game. Although Adrian does an admirable job of defending that decision. Enjoy! ~Simon's Cake Games~

Today’s broadcast is Episode 24 for TwoFer Tuesday, February 27th, 2018, on a program we're calling "TwoFer Tuesday - vol. 3" ---NOTE--- There is a mistake in the tracklist. I was unable to catch it in time to fix it in the episode itself, but have fixed it in the show notes. The track list is corrected with an asterisk. See the asterisk at the VERY bottom of the show notes for the details of the mistake. Feed will include Channels 1, 2, 3, and any future channels not yet planned. Feed will also include podcasts in high quality, stereo where applicable, and episodes will never expire off the feed. Therefore it is STRONGLY recommended that you subscribe to this Nerd Noise Radio feed and bypass all others. This one will contain all their content anyway. Option 2: If you're ONLY interested in Channel 1 ("Noise from the Hearts of Nerds") episodes, and not in any of the other content that is or will be offered by Nerd Noise Radio, there is a Channel 1-specific feed. But it's hosted on a free account, rather than an upgraded account like the "All Channels Feed" with lower quality sound (mono, I believe), a maximum 2hrs per month of content (so if the month's episodes run longer than that, they may need to be trimmed), and episodes expire off the feed forever after 90 days. It is STRONGLY recommended for most listeners to subscribe to the All-Channels feed instead. However, if you really are only interested in Channel 1 content, here's the RSS: http://www.buzzsprout.com/77944.rss Our episodes will also appear on our Nerd Noise Radio YouTube Channel - just search for Nerd Noise Radio, you'll find us! Here's today's episode: https://youtu.be/VaWacsQAGSg Additionally, there are YouTube Playlists you can follow, both an "All Channels" Feed (recommended), as well as channel-specific feeds. You can find them here: Nerd Noise Radio Network - All Channels Podcast Feed Nerd Noise Radio - Channel 1 podcast Nerd Noise Radio is now available on Twitch as well! This specific episode can be found here: https://nerdnoiseradio.blogspot.com/2018/01/nerd-noise-radio-channel-1-noise-from_6.html As always, your feedback and input is DEEPLY appreciated, so we cheerfully invite you to "blow up the comments section", or you can always reach us by e-mail at nerdnoiseradio@gmail.com as well as all the aforementioned social media outlets. Thanks for listening! Join us again Wednesday, March 14th for C1E25 (Channel 1, Episode 25): "THE BEST OF 2017" (a SUPER-SIZED Episode) - Delicious VGM on "Noise from the Hearts of Nerds"! And wherever you are - Fly the N! Cheers! *= Track is listed in the episode (and was originally listed in the show notes) as "Snaking Pass". Actually, Snaking Pass WAS used in the original draft of the tracklist - so it actually was right originally, but I swapped it out for Mount Ices, as I felt that track worked better in the context of the playlist. I will feature Snaking Pass eventually in a future episode. As I said, this mistake dawned on me too late to feasibly reproduce and re-upload the episode, so I'm just leaving the mistake in there. Hopefully, it'll go down in NNR Lore as something we all smile and chuckle about later. Just know that I did catch the mistake on my own, and didn't have to experience the embarrassment of getting called out on it in the comments later on. Now, perhaps, someone who didn't read the show notes, but did listen to the episode will, in fact, take to the comments section to set me aright. And if this happens, I'll just steer them back to these notes. :-) Cheers!
