Be sure to schedule a consult with Dr. Rand at TTHormones.comLearn more about True Transformation at 3MFatLoss.comDr. Rand McClain has always been passionate about nutrition and wellness, and he's taken an unconventional path to become a leading expert in alternative and progressive medical treatments. He's accomplished a lot in his life, from being the youngest senior account manager at Deloitte to pursuing a career as a professional boxer in Argentina. Despite being told that he couldn't do it, he went back to school at age 37 and became a doctor. Dr. Rand doesn't believe in following the "status quo," and that's what sets him apart. He's known for his innovative treatments, like bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and cryotherapy. His patients include A-list celebrities and world-class athletes who seek out his expertise at his practice, Regenerative and Sports Medicine. Dr. Rand has spent the last 35 years redefining what it means to be in optimal health, and he earned his medical degree at Western University and completed his internship at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine Residency Program. He's worked with some of the best and original innovators in Sports, Rejuvenative, Regenerative ("Anti-Aging"), Cosmetic, and Family Medicine. In his brand new book Cheating Death, he takes a fresh approach to genetics, natural aging, and proactive medical treatments. Dr. McClain founded the Regenerative and Sports Medicine Clinic in Santa Monica, where he specializes in alternative and cutting-edge treatments. He shares the best drugs and supplements, treatment methods, and devices that are backed by extensive research and his own work with patients. This includes little-known treatments that can reverse the effects of injuries, diagnostic and screening technologies that detect early onset disease, breakthrough methods to slow down or reverse aging, and steps to enhance gene expression and sidestep poor family genetics.Dr. McClain shows readers how to access these therapies and jumpstart the body's regenerative processes, leading to improvements in mood swings, depression, anxiety, hormone balance, sexual function, muscle strength, stamina, pain relief, and a more youthful appearance. Traditional medicine saves lives, but it has limitations. Doctors and institutions often don't explore promising options outside of their expertise or dismiss non-Western medicines, plant-based therapies, and new technologies. Many can't keep up with research around health innovations. Researchers around the globe are taking the first steps toward a revolution in healthcare, but treatments have been limited to a select few with access to them.Cheating Death, bolstered with research and recovery stories from real people, gives readers the tools to live healthier, longer lives.

It can be hard to formulate long-term treatment plans when your patients are young. Syndromic craniosynostosis is diagnosable at birth, meaning that the treatment plans need to start from the get-go. In the previous episode, we spoke to Dr. Michael Markiewicz (MD DDS FACS) about craniosynostosis: how to diagnose it, what causes it, the different forms of the deformity, and why doctors shouldn't delay diagnosis. In this episode, we welcome back Dr. Mankiewicz and talk further about the syndromic aspect of craniosynostosis, looking specifically at syndromic versus non-syndromic. Dr. Markiewicz compares Apert syndrome and Crouzon syndrome, their characteristics and features, and the differing opinions on treatment plans. Dr. Markiewicz discusses the purpose of distraction osteogenesis when treating craniosynostosis, the amazing combination of virtual surgery planning and resorbable plates/screws, and why he is an advocate for cranial implants. Key Points From This Episode:The syndromes that can accompany craniosynostosis. How geneticists help diagnose syndromic craniosynostosis.Who makes up the Craniofacial team. The most common syndromes Dr. Markiewicz treats. The main characteristics and features of Apert syndrome and Crouzon syndrome. The differing opinions on treatment for Craniofacial dysostosis. The timeline for sequencing different stages of treatment. The role of the neurosurgeon, pediatric ophthalmologist, orthodontist, and OMFS.The role of virtual planning. The materials (typically titanium) used during craniosynostosis surgery. The purpose of distraction osteogenesis when treating craniosynostosis. New medical advancements Dr. Markiewicz is seeing. Why Dr. Markiewicz is an advocate for cranial implants. The consolidation phase versus the distraction period. The social management of big surgeries with a small child. Can I not do this? Are they going to be able to do this? Are they not going to be able to do this? How are they going to help me? Is it worth the money? Security — I'm not going to meet them. Who are they?' But sometimes, you've got to take a leap of faith and try something out. You won't know whether it's effective or not until you actually try it. And that's what happened with me. I had this incredible first virtual assistant, who still works for me to this day, who was so dedicated. He, to this day, is one of the best employees I've ever had.” (5:36—6:18)“The great thing about a virtual assistant is everything is recorded. You can record your training sessions with them, and then that institutional memory gets passed on very easily. So, once I started to get things under control, the easiest things to give them were things like getting benefits and revenue cycle stuff. That has become, in my mind, something that should not be done by taking up real estate in your office. That's a job that should be done remotely from start to finish.
