This week’s episode of Good Girls Get Rich is brought to you by Uplevel Media CEO and LinkedIn expert, Karen Yankovich. In this episode, Karen shares how to accumulate LinkedIn Recommendations. LinkedIn Recommendations show the world who you are and why they can trust you. The more Recommendations you have, the better. Karen shares how to accumulate Recommendations. #GoodGirlsGetRich We want to hear your thoughts on this episode! Leave us a message on Speakpipe or email us at info@karenyankovich.com.   About the Episode: Most likely, you already have testimonials on your website. Testimonials are an important tool to show others that they can trust you and your business, but what if there were an even more effective way to utilize those testimonials? Enter LinkedIn Recommendations. When reading testimonials on a website, there’s no way to know if those testimonials are genuine or if they came from that person’s family and friends. LinkedIn Recommendations, however, are written by LinkedIn users, so you know who is writing the Recommendation. Another benefit is that once someone reads a Recommendation, they can then click through to the profile of the person who left the Recommendation and ask additional questions about the person they’re looking to work with. How to Accumulate LinkedIn Recommendations You might be wondering, “How do I get Recommendations?” The most effective way is to give genuine Recommendations strategically. Think about who it is that might write a Recommendation for you if you write a Recommendation for them. Another way to get Recommendations is to ask for them. If someone is complementing your work, try asking, “Would you mind popping that in a LinkedIn Recommendation?” More often than not, they’ll do it. It’s also okay to cold ask. Start giving LinkedIn Recommendations, accumulate them for yourself, and watch your business opportunities skyrocket.   Episode Spotlights: Where to find everything for this week’s episode: karenyankovich.com/125 Introducing this episode’s topic (1:53) The confidence to use LinkedIn Recommendations (3:45) The power of LinkedIn Recommendations (4:45) What is a LinkedIn Recommendation? Women’s bodies are uniquely different and require different methods. Circadian rhythm impacts everyone’s bodies. Infradian rhythms affect women physically, hormonally, and emotionally. Adjusting your diet and exercise based on an infradian rhythm offers immediate results. When you eat and exercise dependent on where you are in your cycle, you give your women’s body what it needs.   Episode Play-By-Play [3:40] What was the reason you became interested in women’s health, cycles and biohacking? [4:30] Supporting your biological rhythm is the key to unlocking your best health. [5:44] The percentage of women who suffer from a hormone imbalance is going to shock you. [7:10] What are the biggest things disrupting women’s monthly cycles? [8:22] Chemicals are huge factors in the contribution of precocious puberty (puberty starting as young as age 8). [11:40] What is the new biological rhythm? [14:00] Your Infradian rhythm affects these six key areas of the body [15:08] What things disrupt the infradian rhythm? [18:20] Doing this workout after ovulation can cause this to happen [20:10] To continue to burn fat after ovulation, you need to do (or not do) these things [22:00] Alisa’s app, MyFLO, helps you track your cycles (see the link in the notes below). [23:00] Much of the health and wellness research that is available does NOT take this into account [24:32] The only way to do intermittent fasting that’s good for women with infradian rhythms [28:00] Supporting the infradian rhythm now ensures that your body will be better taken care of after this happens [29:30] Alisa’s book is full of information directed specifically at women and infradian rhythms as opposed to using general information geared more towards men. Keto and intermittent fasting can be beneficial for some women, but they can also be very tricky because of the way the female metabolism is built. Your metabolism is like a pendulum: it pushes back against you when you stress it out. Stress to the metabolism sends your body into starvation mode, telling your body to hang on to your fat stores and accumulate more fat. There needs to be a balance between restorative exercise and higher-intensity workouts. Incorporating relaxation and stress-reducing activities into your routine, along with enough, but not too much high-intensity interval training, is key to maintaining a healthy weight.   Episode Play-By-Play [2:15] Dr. Jade Teta’s career briefing [4:20] How Dr. Teta became an expert in women’s health and metabolism [5:25] Most of the research involving nutrition and weight loss in terms of exercise has been done on young males. [5:56] Many women are doing male-dominated programs. [6:00] Keto and intermittent fasting in women [6:20] Your metabolism functions as a stress barometer. [7:42] Women burn more fat at all exercise intensities compared to men. [8:56] The advantages of estrogen [9:46] Hormonal changes that occur during perimenopause [10:43] Why you need to fine-tune your carbohydrate intake and exercise intensity during perimenopause and menopause [12:15] Your metabolism is like a pendulum: it pushes back against you when it’s stressed. [13:47] Stress to the metabolism sends your body into starvation mode, telling your body to hang on to your fat stores and accumulate more fat. [14:50] The balance between restorative exercise and high-intensity interval training [16:30] The importance of moving more throughout your day. [17:56] Relaxation is key to maintaining a healthy weight. [19:29] Focus on protein, fiber and water foods to make sure that your hunger and cravings are kept at bay. [22:05] Buffer foods vs. trigger foods [23:40] Do the things that keep your hunger, energy, and cravings in check throughout the day. [30:55] Starting your day off with the right breakfast sets your metabolic tone for the day. The perfect and easiest way to do this is with JJ’s All-In-One Paleo-Inspired Shake! [31:50] Listener’s question: I’m training for a marathon, but I heard you say that I shouldn’t be doing endurance exercise. Why not? And is there a way I can do this and stay healthy? ParentNormal Questions Answered in this Episode: Most parents on TV seem to be doing a poor job of parenting. Am I becoming a bad parent by watching so many bad parents on TV? There are so many shows kids can watch on TV and there are even more shows and videos on YouTube. How am I supposed to know what shows my kids will actually like the most without trying them all?
