Jennifer Lay's pathway to becoming now an associate lawyer at Slater and Gordon, one of Australia's most well-known Plaintiff-focused law firms, was by no means easy. As a first-generation immigrant, she spent most of her childhood growing up in Commission Housing and had left high school early. But after working in the Insurance industry, Jennifer later came to discover her passion for helping and inspiring others, which fuelled her aspirations of becoming a lawyer. In this interview, Jennifer shares her inspiring story with us about how she confronted her disempowering thoughts and changed her reality to help her get to where she is today. Having achieved an associate-level position at a reputable firm and as a holder of directorships across multiple non-government organisations at such an early stage in her career, Jennifer also talks to us about millennial leadership.
