In this week's episode I sit down and chat with Mo Mayhem. I became a Mo Mayhem and Hell City Glamours fan boy way back, I'd say 12-13 years ago, I used to see HCG whenever they came to Brisbane and they were always the sickest nights for a young rock'n'roll lover such as myself. The first half of the poddy is fairly music orientated, we talk bands he's toured with (The Angels, Paul Stanley, Rose Tattoo, Brides Of Destruction, Alice Cooper, the list goes on), our love for hair metal, punk and everything in between, The Commitments, Growing up with music to now showing his son music. After music though we delve into human emotions, men crying, showing strength, the Neil Young/Joe Rogan debacle, differing opinions and how it's nice to not have an opinion sometimes, cancel culture (and what's actually being cancelled?), toxic masculinity. Honestly there was so much we covered and I feel like we only scratched the surface... He plays guitar in Mucho Sonar and The Dusty Rhodes and he's a shit hot producer as well, what can't the man do... Lend Us Your Ears. Tattooing has come a long way from what it use to be. So far that it's a completely different world compared to the old times. Bridging the Gap is all about that time difference and connecting the new generation of artists with the old, sharing stories and connecting over the art-form of tattoos. Join us and host Kyle Bernstein, an apprentice hopeful of the next generation of artists, as we sit down with some of the legends of modern tattooing, and learn more about their stories, struggles, and what it took to get where they are now.
Jeanethe Falvey is the Chief Digital Officer of the City of Boston, Massachusetts. Jeanethe has an incredible resume that speaks to a love of the environment and a deep sense of care for her local community. While at the EPA she drove a revival of the historic Documerica project, before moving to lead National Geographic's digital strategy. From here she was tapped to lead Boston Mayor Marty Walsh's - now Secretary of Labor - vision to accelerate digital accessibility for every Bostonian. In our conversation we discuss the hard choices residents will have to make around data privacy if they truly want private sector efficiency, the singular power of photographs to evoke emotion, and why so many cities are still stuck in the dark ages when it comes to offering residents digital services. Please enjoy my conversation with Jeanethe Falvey.
