Manchester United have made a swift start to their summer transfer business with the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. The Brazilian looks set to improve Ruben Amorim's side immediately, but it's clear the Red Devils need more if they're to get back towards the top of the Premier League. Brentford's Brian Mbeumo is another name linked with a switch to Old Trafford, but does the French winger fit Amorim's system? Across Manchester, City are also planning to raid Wolves for one of their stars as Rayan Ait-Nouri continues to be heavily linked with the club in a big money move. It's our first podcast since the calamities of Bilbao, and we're not just talking about the football. Who is responsible for the series of events which led to leaving hundreds, maybe thousands, of fans stranded in a city that had essentially closed for business?Ruben Amorim's future had even seemed up in the air after that game, but it seems he has been reassured of his future by Manchester United's execs. He used the authority lent him by this vote of confidence to give Alejandro Garnacho marching orders. The Argentinian winger, and his entourage, were publicly critical of the head coach, which appears to have crossed a line. Fan reaction was mixed. The team went on to play Champions League chasers Aston Villa on Sunday before jetting off to Asia. The clean sheet and comfortable victory at Old Trafford was met with raised eyebrows as much as anything else, but Amorim addressed the crowd to a positive reaction... Now for the difficult part. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Ian Lubin, Patrick Tyrant, Marlon, Via Spurs Kings TV and Jim From Oh So Spurs as Tottenham's 2-0 defeat by Crystal Palace on Sunday was the 20th of their Premier League season. The defeat saw Spurs drop to 17th with only the relegated trio of Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton below them with two games to go. They are on 38 points from 36 games - one behind their Europa League final opponents Manchester United and two behind West Ham, who climbed to 15th with a 2-0 win against the Ruben Amorim's side. Adding insult to injury, 20 defeats is the most Spurs have suffered during a single Premier League season in history and the last time they lost as many in the English top division was during the 1991-92 season. It was also their 24th defeat across all competitions and they have only lost more in a single season in 1991-92, when they recorded 25 defeats. Postecoglou's side have won just one of their past 10 league games but will hope to bounce back against Aston Villa on Friday before making the trip to Bilbao to face the Red Devils in the all-important European final. #815 | This was once a proud club for whom finishing third was a disaster. Now each week brings a new defeat and a shrug of the shoulders. Defeat to West Ham is bad enough, but the thing about giving up on the league is that Ruben Amorim is losing credibility by the week. Everything - the whole season and a few years to come - is on the Europa League final but if United lose that the manager will have less than zero bank of credit available and once again the club will be in the situation of having to spend to back manager who we don't know will be here by November. Ed and Dan should be angrier.
