Walking down the aisle to Wagner's ‘Here Comes The Bride' and departing to Mendelssohn's ‘The Wedding March' remains a popular choice at wedding ceremonies - a precedent established by the Princess Royal Victoria and Prince Frederick of Prussia, who married at St James's Palace on 25th January, 1858. Unfortunately for Mendelssohn, he'd been dead eleven years by the time his tune became a viral hit - but he treasured his patronage by Victoria and Albert, once describing Buckingham Palace as “the only really nice, comfortable house in England.” In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly explain how ‘The Wedding March' had its origins not in Church, but Paganism; reveal how Frederick and Victoria's union influenced American troops in the Second World War; and, with grim inevitability, give yet another airing to Arion's execrable Queen Victoria impression. If you've ever been seated early at a wedding, you know the anticipation is all about two big moments: when the bride comes down the aisle – and the moment towards the end when there is a pronouncement of “Husband and Wife!” As Pastor Ken teaches today, you'll learn those who profess Jesus as Lord and Savior before the tribulation will become His bride. Pastor Ken reminds us to live with the assurance of His commitment to us.

If you missed this past Sunday at our Midland campus, Mandy Richardson unpacked a powerful teaching called “Here Comes The Bride.” We are first called to be reconciled to Jesus, but then we are called to ADD to the body of Christ – His Bride! As we learn His nature, we can become like Him and be known by the world for the life of LOVE that we live!

Host Lois Matson is thinking about weddings, as this show publishes on the day of a family wedding. The traditions in our culture are varied and many, and she looks at some of them. An explanation is given of premarital counseling, and from choosing a dress to choosing music, an overview of weddings is explored. The Church as the Bride of Christ is also contemplated, and the show ends with a prayer for the wedding of her son and his bride. Please send your comments, suggestions, and ideas for future shows to diceystuffpodcast@gmail.com. Do you have an idea for a Dicey Bible Story? Send it on in! We have come to the end of the Amelia Dafelia season. Yes, it's the final episode of this season. Amelia's childhood and teenage years have passed, and now she and Sam are getting married. There is no sounds or voice acting. Even though visual parts are something you can't see in this episode, I'll tell you. On the first piece of organic music, Amelia and Sam are in their own homes getting ready for the wedding. Towards the end of the piece you hear a distant sound of xylophonic bells ringing at the church. The second piece is Here Comes The Bride, where Amelia walks down the aisle. The last piece is the recession. During the piece the couple is dancing to the music. ... And that is the last episode of this season, however, the next season will have stories that occur during Amelia and Sam's lifetime.
