In today's episode we chat with Hormone University Founder Ana G. Herrera all about endometriosis. She was diagnosed with stage 4 endo, had 5 surgeries, infertility, surgical menopause, chronic pain & PMS & created a mission out of her story to support, educate & help women naturally heal & balance their hormones. We chat about how you can use food & lifestyle to naturally support endometriosis & reduce/get rid of pain, plus some products she uses & recommends.Ana G Herrera spent 17 years in the corporate world, leading well known beauty brands. Her life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Stage IV Endometriosis in her mid 20s. This condition brought unimaginable pain into her life, leading to five surgeries, infertility, surgical menopause, and numerous other challenging consequences. Frustrated by the lack of specific research, clear information, and natural products that she could apply into my daily life, Ana decided to embark on a new path. She began talking to hundreds of women and discovered that many shared a common thirst for knowledge and trustworthy products, yet they didn't know where to begin. It was this realization that led her to leave a successful corporate career behind and dive headfirst into the most challenging endeavor of her life—creating a company from scratch. With the invaluable support and guidance of some of the finest scientific advisors and alumni from Columbia University, she created Hormone University and Glow products. It stands as the first platform entirely dedicated to hormonal health. Her ultimate goal and mission are threefold: to empower you to become your own advocate in matters of hormonal health, to make a positive impact on society through their Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals certification and to provide the knowledge and products necessary to achieve hormonal balance, regardless of the stage of life you find yourself in.Educational content / free resources: https://hormoneuniversity.com/Glow product line: https://glow.hormoneuniversity.com/ Use code CORINNE_A10 for savings! Wise Divine Women presents Ana Gonzalez Herrera! She has had a global career in the US, London, Germany, and markets worldwide for a variety of brands within the health, beauty, and luxury hospitality sectors. Ana suffered from stage IV Endometriosis for years and went through five surgeries. She decided this obstacle in her life would become her mission to help others and increase awareness on hormonal imbalances. She started collaborating with Endofound in 2019, GLOW, and founded Hormone University in 2020. Glow Botanica opens with an account of my own story. I have a vivid memory of being in the boardroom with my three male partners at the company I used to work at. I recall bending down in excruciating pain due to extreme PMS symptoms. My hormonal imbalance started at the age of 21, with fibroids - a very common condition - but it can be painful nonetheless. I had my first surgery to remove fibroids at that age. At 23, I started having very painful periods and by the time I was 28, I was diagnosed with Endometriosis. I lived in some form of pain around 40%-60% of the month. By the time I was 37, I had gone through three further surgeries and became part of the 1 in 10 infertile club. Ana's product lineup can be found here and WOW I am very impressed! https://glow.hormoneuniversity.com/pages/our-story Please take her quiz, and grab her products! Endocrine Disruptors with Ana G. Herrera In episode #225 of The Hormone P.U.Z.Z.L.E Podcast, our guest Ana G. Herrera talks about Endocrine Disruptors. More about Ana: Ana dedicated 15 years of her life to the corporate world, leading and growing well known beauty and wellness corporations worldwide. In the meantime, she was silently battling Stage IV Endometriosis, a condition that affects 10% of women that is horrendously painful and difficult to deal with. She was in pain 50% of her time with extreme PMS for over a decade, went through 5 surgeries, infertility, and surgical menopause. Severe side effects with hormonal treatments inspired her to start her entrepreneurial journey to fulfill her vision of rethinking the women's wellness space. Knowing that hormonal wellness is the result of a balanced approach to health and with the naturopathic principles in mind, she launched Glow Botanica, a company that provides a series of effective natural remedies to help achieve hormonal balance by targeting symptoms, not age. From her personal experience wellness starts from knowledge. Ana also built and launched Hormone University, the first educational platform focused on hormonal health, aiming to not only raise awareness but also empower women to take control over their hormonal health, to be prepared when they step into the doctor's office, and to get their questions answered. While her businesses are still young, Ana has the ambition to become the beacon of hormonal wellbeing, giving women all the tools to be in control of their hormones and not to be controlled by them. Endometriosis, a condition where tissue that behaves like the lining of the womb is found outside the uterus, and causes severe and debilitating period pain. It affects more than 6.5 million women in the US, yet there is still so much confusion around its causes, symptoms and treatments. On today's episode, Cody invites Ana Gonzalez Herrera, who is the founder of Hormone University. After 5 surgeries and endless tears of pain and boxes of Ibuprofen with stage IV endometriosis, Ana made it her mission to be her own best health advocate. She believes that the more you know, the more you can do to avoid medical (or other) interventions which might not be right for you, and the more you can take control of your health. This is an important episode, because adding to the agony of endo, many women don't end up getting diagnosed until later in life, if at all, because so many physicians simply pass off their symptoms as period pain. This lack of acknowledgement leaves the women living with chronic endo pain feeling helpless and unheard.Share this episode with the girls in your life. Ana Herrera has a story that will help educate and inspire women across the globe. Ana suffered with excruciating pain for years in her 20's with no answers, no relief, and no diagnosis. Unfortunately, by the time her true diagnosis was revealed (a condition called endometriosis), she was at an advanced stage of disease. She ended up having five surgeries including a full hysterectomy to relieve her pain. After years of emotional and physical turmoil, Ana turned a negative into a positive by founding Hormone University. The goal of this encouraging education platform according to Ana: "My company Hormone University aims to educate women about hormonal imbalances so that they can understand more about their own bodies and how they function." We all know how important it is to be an advocate for our own health, and it takes access to quality information to be able to speak on our own behalf. Endometriosis affects about ten percent of women and can take on average 4 to 10 years to accurately diagnose. By empowering women with education, Hormone University is an essential tool for giving women access to quality care they deserve. In episode #32 of The Hormone P.U.Z.Z.L.E Podcast, our guest Ana Gonzalez Herrera talks about Endometriosis, Hormones and Fertility . More about Ana: Ana Gonzalez Herrera's endometriosis story is like that of so many corporate executives with the disease. She once gave a presentation in a male-dominated boardroom while masking her excruciating pain. Another time in Starbucks she doubled over in pain and fainted, then woke up and drove straight to work. Pretending to be okay to not appear weak was her norm. But no longer. After being diagnosed with stage IV endo and having five surgeries over the course of roughly a decade, the last of which included a full hysterectomy and colon resection, Herrera says her pain has become her mission – Hormone University. A platform completely self-funded to educate women experiencing hormonal imbalances and to advocate for social justice in women's health issues. The native of Spain and resident of New York & London has also been named to EndoFound's advisory board of patients and advocates. “I think she will be an excellent addition to the advisory board with her vast marketing experience and her personal experience with endo,” said Margaret Cianci, EndoFound's executive director. Herrera, who has lived all over the world, has a bachelor's degree with honors from Les Roches Hotel Management School and has taken several executive management courses at the London School of Economics and Cornell University. She has more than 15 years of high-level global marketing & commercial experience, particularly in the wellness and beauty industries. In 2017, Herrera founded AG CASA, a strategy and marketing agency based in New York City.
