A bit of a different topic today, but one I'm incredibly passionate about - my opinions on dating men, as a straight cis woman. This is purely about dating in personal life (not about my clients), and it's such an important facet of many women's lives. This isn't a comprehensive totality of my views - I would have to talk for a few hours to get everything out! I'd love to hear your opinion in the comments and start a conversation. By the end of the book, she had transformed her love life and found the one she had been calling in all along - herself."Calling in The One" taught Sarah that true love begins within and that by embracing self-love, she could attract the love she truly deserved.Chapter 2 Meet the Writer of Calling in "The One"Relying on her well-honed writing skills, Katherine Woodward Thomas employs a smooth and engaging language style in "Calling in The One" to effectively convey the complex emotions and profound meanings surrounding finding love. The idea that there is a predestined soulmate or perfect match out there for each person has captivated people's imaginations for centuries. It has inspired countless works of literature, from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to modern romance novels. In popular culture, the notion of finding "The One" has been perpetuated by romantic comedies, love songs, and dating apps. People often talk about finding their soulmate or perfect match, and many believe that there is someone out there who is meant for them. This idea has also had a profound influence on society's views on love and relationships. It has helped shape societal norms around dating, marriage, and commitment. The idea of finding "The One" has created a sense of hope and possibility for many people, driving them to seek out their perfect partner. However, the concept of calling in "The One" has also been criticized for perpetuating unrealistic expectations and putting pressure on individuals to find their soulmate. In this Language of Love session, I have a chat with Trina, who has been through some really tough times in her past relationships, facing big losses and struggles. She opens up about the toxic relationships and challenges she's been dealing with as she tries to rebuild her life. I emphasized how important it is for Trina to take the time to be single, rebuild and move deeper into love and accept herself before thinking about jumping into a new relationship. It's like building a strong foundation for a house - if you rush past this phase of post-relationship healing, you just make the same mistakes again and again. I suggest that she goes on a journey of self-discovery and self-love, one that's all about what she wants, not what others expect. After all, loving ourselves and understanding our own worth is the first step toward attracting the love we truly deserve. In this episode, we're diving into: The concept of vibrational frequency and how embracing our divine feminine power can attract the right kind of partner into our lives The impact of deep-rooted traumas and subconscious fears in our interpersonal relationships The importance of having a support system and holding oneself accountable Why setting boundaries is a vital component in healthy relationships Be sure to explore Calling in the One by my good friend Katherine Woodward Thomas! So if I have a story, ‘I'm not good enough,' there's all sorts of ways that I'm going show up as, ‘I'm inferior and they're better than me,' so when they leave because of that, it's validating the old story. So you have to go in and do this correction on a soul level.” Katherine Woodward Thomas joins me in today's episode about Conscious Uncoupling. Katherine is the bestselling author of Conscious Uncoupling and an award-winning marriage and family psychotherapist. We discuss changing the definition of success from longevity, the pain of detaching, how we've been doing divorce wrong, conscious uncoupling without our partner's participation, transforming difficult emotions, curating an empowering narrative, breaking our patterns, creating a positive future, building a new life, and rituals for uncoupling. From learning how to love yourself to discovering how to manifest the romantic love of your life, this podcast episode is for you! You will learn the 3 keys to finding “The One.”Key # 1 - Claim Your PowerTo create a happy and healthy love life, it's important to cultivate a clear intention and positive vision of what that looks like. However, despite our efforts, we may find it difficult to break patterns of attracting the wrong people. To manifest change, it's necessary to step back and understand these patterns by taking ownership of our unconscious and habitual choices and making conscious decisions toward creating the kind of love life we desire.Key # 2 - Clear Your BlocksOur early caregivers' behaviours and attitudes toward us shape these core beliefs, which we then internalize as a narrative about ourselves. We can begin to wake up from the matrix of our old false beliefs and recognize what is truly possible for us in love. Key # 3 - Connect with the Future YouBy discovering and claiming your True Love Identity, you can break free from painful patterns and start living your version of a happy, fulfilling love life. By tapping into the possible version of yourself, already loved, safe, supported, heard, seen, cherished, and deeply worthy of happiness, you unlock a powerful magic that can compel the Universe to bring great love straight to your doorstep.ResourcesTransformational Life CoachingFREE 7-Day Journal to Self-LoveLinda's LinksBonus Meditation l Who Am I?Discover Who You Really Are l S1E016About the Guest:Alicja was personally trained by Katherine Woodward Thomas and certified as a Calling in “The One” and Conscious Uncoupling Coach. How do you find “The One?” That one true love of your life? That perfect-for-you partner? It seems so challenging at times that there must be some sort of secret code, right? Well, here to demystify the process is relationship expert Katherine Woodward Thomas. She talks about the dynamics of healthy relationships and how to set intentions in that direction. She also examines what happens when people divorce (especially through the court system). She explains how it IS possible, if things don't work out, to “consciously uncouple.” She notes that the “happily-ever-after” myth was invented just 400 years ago when people had much shorter life spans. Katherine Woodward Thomas, M.A., MFT is the author of the New York Times bestseller “Conscious Uncoupling: 5 Steps to Living Happily Even After” and the national bestseller, “Calling in 'The One': 7 Weeks to Attract the Love of Your Life.” She is also a licensed marriage and family therapist. Welcome to Best Friend Therapy, where we chat about what's on our minds, to get deeper in our minds, and this week we're turning up the volume on some Tammy Wynette (not Dolly Parton, Emma) to talk about D.I.V.O.R.C.E.Stigmatised by society as a shameful failure, or presented as an opportunity to grow and evolve, divorce (as the name suggests) can be divisive. We challenge the notion that a long-lasting marriage is a successful one, draw a distinction between "fair" and "equal" when it comes to co-parenting, and discuss the friendship and family fall-out that can come as a by-product of divorce. Elizabeth shares her personal experience of divorce and takes Emma on a magical mystery tour through Elizabeth's experiences of dating in the aftermath. Faith Blakeney is a designer, stylist, and mother. As a child, she spent countless hours in her Berkeley, California home redecorating her room, dressing up, and dancing in the mirror. She studied architecture at UC Berkeley, designed costumes for the local theater, and immersed herself in all things old and beautiful at the local auction house where she worked. After fifteen years of studying and working in France, Italy, and New York, Faith launched her design studio in 2010. Today, she brings passion, purpose, and play to her clients, whether dressing them for the red carpet or designing their dream spaces in LA, NY, and beyond. In this episode, Nada sits down with Faith to retrace her incredible journey from living in Italy to understanding firsthand what Dolce Vida means. Her dream of taking a leap into interior design was confirmed one day when she earned her first client while chatting up a guest at a wedding reception. The two laugh and tear up as Faith conveys her passion for creating spaces for others to feel at home and to give back something more than “decor”. She discusses how her upbringing impacted her perspective and purpose to create beauty on this planet. Faith suggests you read: Calling in "The One" by Katherine Woodward Thomas. In today’s episode, I sit down with Polly Young-Eisendrath, Ph.D., a psychologist, writer, speaker, and Jungian analyst who has published 19 books including, The Self-Esteem Trap: Raising Confident and Compassionate Kids in an Age of Self-Importance and Love Between Equals: Relationship as a Spiritual Path. She hosts the popular podcast ENEMIES: From War to Wisdom that provides a fresh look at human hostilities and what to do about them. She is a lifelong Buddhist practitioner and a Mindfulness teacher. I learned about Polly through a past guest, Katherine Woodward Thomas, who spoke so highly of her work, and I’m excited to dive in. We talk about the following and so much more: ✅ What does ”love between equals” mean? ✅ What is projective identification and why does it feel like such a terrible offense? ✅ Why does it recreate the conditions that we so often want to escape? ✅ Why we often get stuck in loops in our relationships - it seems like we often get to the same impasse. Why does this happen? ✅ Why we are so unprepared to be in equal relationships? And what she has seen in her workshops on how we can become equipped to become equal. ✅ What the self-esteem trap is ✅ How we free ourselves of self-importance?
