How untreated strep throat sent Ron into a coma the first time — in 2015What vasopressors are, why they saved his life, and why they cost What do you do when the love of your life is fighting for his life — and four kids are at home counting on you to hold everything together?Victoria Rosas is a former Dallas attorney, mom of four in a beautifully blended family, and one of the most quietly extraordinary women we've ever sat across from at the Moms Club.In 2022, her husband Ron — a former professional tennis player who competed for Notre Dame, played the pro tour, and coached their kids on the court — woke up feeling off. Within 24 hours, he was intubated. Within days, the medication saving his life was slowly taking something else: blood flow to all four of his limbs.Victoria was told multiple times he wasn't going to survive. He did. But what came next — nine surgeries, 70 hours in the operating room, nine weeks in Ohio, and coming home to a kindergartner and three kids on the verge of launching — is a story about what strength actually looks like when it has no other choice.
It's Wednesday, May 20th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslims killed 13 Christians including three pregnant mothers Morning Star News reports that Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed 13 Christians in central Nigeria on May 8. Unbelievably, the gunmen killed three pregnant women. They also injured dozens of Christians and displaced hundreds more. Such attacks are common in Nigeria's Plateau State. A leader at Evangelical Church Winning All commented on the recent killings of Christians. He said, “They were martyrs whose lives were claimed by the ongoing genocide against Christians in Nigeria. They died exactly where they chose to stand in the line of duty, lamps burning, voices lifted, refusing to abandon the post God had given them.” In Revelation 2:10-11, Jesus said, “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. … He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” Top ISIS leader killed in northeast Nigeria U.S. and Nigerian forces killed a top ISIS leader in northeastern Nigeria over the weekend. Abu-Bilal al-Minuki was the second-in-command of the Islamic State. The terrorist planned many attacks and hostage events, especially attacks on Christians. On Truth Social, U.S. President Donald Trump wrote, “He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa, or help plan operations to target Americans. With his removal, ISIS's global operation is greatly diminished.” Texas Children's Hospital ended transgender surgeries last week In the United States, Texas Children's Hospital agreed to end its transgender operations on minors last week. The Department of Justice, in coordination with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, secured the historic settlement. The hospital agreed to pay $10 million in damages for performing mutilating procedures on children. Five doctors at the hospital lost their jobs as part of the settlement. Texas Children's Hospital will now establish the first-ever de-transition clinic. The clinic will provide care for the victims of transgender drugs and surgeries. Trump created $1.7 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund The Trump administration created a $1.7 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” this week. The fund would compensate Americans who faced unjust investigations and prosecutions by the Biden Justice Department. Listen to comments from President Donald Trump. TRUMP: “This is reimbursing people that were horribly treated, horribly treated. It's anti-weaponization. They've been weaponized,. They've been, in some cases, imprisoned wrongly. They paid legal fees that they didn't have. They've gone bankrupt. Their lives have been destroyed, and they turn out to be right. I mean, it was a terrible period of time in the history of our country.” 37% of U.S. adults say religion is gaining influence in American life A new survey from Pew Research asked Americans what they think about religion in government and public life. The survey found that 37 percent of U.S. adults say religion is gaining influence in American life. That's up 19 percentage points over the last two years. And just over half of Americans have a positive view of religion's influence. Also, 17 percent of respondents say the federal government should declare Christianity the official religion of the U.S. That's up from 13 percent in 2024. Council of Nicaea affirmed doctrine of Trinity 1,700 years ago And finally, this month marks the anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea, over 1,700 years ago. In late May A.D. 325, 300 Christian leaders convened in the city of Nicaea, located in modern-day Turkey. The council dealt with the doctrine of the Trinity. In particular, the church at the time had to refute the heresy of Arianism. The heretical teaching denied that Jesus is fully and eternally divine. The council went on to affirm the divinity of Christ in the Nicene Creed. It is recited by churches around the world to this day. The creed says there is “one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by Whom all things were made.” John 1:1 and 4 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ... In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, May 20th, in the year of our Lord 2026. The Hidden Reality of Domestic Violence in America Victoria's story reflects a much larger crisis affecting millions of people throughout the United States. Domestic violence remains one of the most widespread and underreported forms of violence in America. Her Journey From Domestic Violence And The Lasting Impact: Special Episode, How One Woman Survived Unimaginable Abuse, Endured 100+ Surgeries, and Turned Trauma Into Hope for Others. Domestic violence is often hidden behind closed doors. According to the FBI's special report on Domestic Violence in the USA, more than 11,000 domestic violence murder victims and an additional 1.1 million domestic violence victims were reported by participating law enforcement agencies over a five-year period. Nearly 75 percent of those victims were women. The FBI also found that violent crimes involving domestic relationships continue to rise across the country. In addition, the FBI released a separate analysis focused on teen relationship violence, revealing more than 70,500 incidents reported in just one year alone. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. These numbers paint a disturbing picture of how deeply domestic violence affects American families and communities. The Long-Term Impact of Trauma The National Institutes of Health says domestic and family violence affects nearly 10 million people every year in the United States. Experts explain that abuse is not limited to physical violence alone. Victims may also experience: Emotional abuse Psychological manipulation Financial control Sexual abuse Isolation Threats and intimidation Domestic violence can lead to: Lifelong physical injuries PTSD and anxiety Depression Chronic pain Loss of income Homelessness Decreased quality of life Death “Domestic violence causes worsened psychological and physical health, decreased quality of life, decreased productivity, and in some cases, mortality.” Healthcare professionals and law enforcement officers regularly encounter victims of domestic violence, yet many cases still go unreported because victims fear retaliation, embarrassment, financial ruin, or further violence. Her Journey From Domestic Violence And The Lasting Impact: Special Episode. This compelling conversation is available across Podcast platforms including Apple, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, where social audiences continue engaging with powerful stories about trauma, recovery, and resilience. For many survivors, escaping is only the first step. Healing can take years. From Survivor to Advocate What makes Victoria Coure's story especially powerful is what happened after the abuse ended. Instead of allowing trauma to consume her life, she transformed her pain into purpose. Victoria wrote a deeply personal Book titled Who Kicked First: A Memoir, detailing her horrifying experiences and difficult journey toward healing and survival. The Podcast is available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, iHeartradio and most major podcast platforms. For more than 16 years, the organization has provided support to survivors of domestic violence and families with special needs. Her Journey From Domestic Violence And The Lasting Impact: Special Episode. As someone who is: A survivor of severe abuse A parent of a special needs child Living with disabilities herself Victoria understands firsthand how difficult it can be to find assistance, support, and understanding. Her mission now focuses on helping others survive the very struggles she once faced alone. Why Survivor Stories Matter Stories like Victoria's are difficult to hear. But they are necessary. Domestic violence often thrives in silence. This compelling conversation is available across Podcast platforms including Apple, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, where social audiences continue engaging with powerful stories about trauma, recovery, and resilience. Steve McKee's life changed at 12 with a diagnosis of a cancerous brain tumor. What followed was not one battle, but multiple. Surgeries, chemotherapy, and repeated returns of new tumors that tested him physically, mentally, and emotionally over the years. Each time, he rebuilt. Finished school. Worked. Tried to reclaim a sense of normal. But after facing cancer again and again, what once felt like confusion turned into anger, and eventually into something deeper, exhaustion. Still, he kept going. After undergoing intensive radiation treatment, Steve reached a turning point. Not just in his health, but in how he chose to live. He made a conscious decision to take ownership of his life in a new way, focusing on belief in himself, disciplined habits, and a lifestyle centered on what he felt would support his healing and clarity. From that shift came a broader realization. His message is rooted in personal responsibility, mindset, and the belief that change starts within. That by choosing how we think, act, and live, we can influence not just our own lives, but the energy we bring into the world. Today, Steve shares his story and perspective to inspire others to take control of their path, stay resilient through adversity, and contribute to something more positive on a larger scale. Together, they walk through what these surgeries involve, the types of cases they're best suited for, and how they compare to procedures performed under general anesthesia. From safety considerations to recovery time and overall outcomes, the conversation highlights why standing surgery has become an important advancement in equine veterinary care—and what it means for both horses and their owners. In this deeply personal and eye-opening episode of Our Forever Smiles, Laura welcomes returning guest Corinne for her third appearance on the podcast. Born with a cleft lip and palate, Corinne shares her lifelong journey through more than 30 surgeries, including repeated palate repair failures, innovative fat grafting procedures, and the emotional toll of navigating cleft care into adulthood. Together, Laura and Corinne discuss acid reflux as a lesser-known contributor to palatal repair failure, the trauma many adults carry from childhood surgeries, parenting while undergoing medical procedures, and why reframing "failure" as partial success can be life-changing. Corinne also provides updates on the Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act (ELSA), her advocacy work with Smile Train, and what cleft families and adults can do to navigate insurance, language, and long-term care. This episode is a must-listen for cleft parents, adults with cleft lip and palate, advocates, and anyone seeking hope, validation, and honest conversation about what the cleft journey can look like beyond childhood. This week’s guest is Martina Castro, creator of podcast Two Faced: John of God, Exactly Right’s new podcast series about John of God, the Brazilian self-proclaimed healer and “psychic surgeon.” In part one, Martina explains John of God’s history and mythology, how he became internationally famous for his alleged healings (amplified by celebrities like Oprah), and the carefully primed environment he created called “the Casa.” Everyone dressed in white! Crystals! Waterfalls! And of course, lines of pilgrims watching him channel “doctor spirits” to supposedly heal the town's many visitors. They discuss how his “free healings” weren’t as free as promised, his so-called “invisible surgeries” that supposedly worked from across the globe, and the in-person healings he did that involved putting objects up uncomfortably far up people’s nasal cavities. And next week, we’ll get into the explosive allegations that came out during the #MeToo movement. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has released an updated statement recommending against gender surgeries for anyone under the age of 18. While the American Medical Association has issued a similar stance, other organizations—including the American Academy of Pediatrics—argue that healthcare decisions should remain between families and doctors, and that surgical options should stay on the table for minors. Earlier this week, plastic surgeon and star of Netflix's Skin Decision: Before and After, Dr. Sheila Nazarian, joined FOX News Rundown host Dave Anthony to explain why many in her field believe minors should not "go under the knife" for transition procedures. Dr. Nazarian raised alarms over the lack of long-term data regarding the effectiveness of these treatments, emphasizing her belief that evidence-based medicine must be the sole guide for treating gender dysphoria in children. She also discussed the professional risks of speaking out, noting that many in the medical community fear political backlash for questioning current standards of care. We often have to cut our interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear this conversation in its entirety. Today on a Fox News Rundown Extra, we share our full interview with plastic surgeon Dr. Sheila Nazarian. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
The medical community is finally realizing that transgender surgeries are harming America’s children. Recently, both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Medical Association released statements recommending gender-affirming surgeries be delayed until adulthood, but what does this mean for the issue as a whole? Is change happening? Host Casey Harper is joined by American Parents Coalition’s Alleigh Marre, and The Washington Stand’s Joshua Arnold to discuss the new research and mentality shift we are seeing in the medical world.
1. SAVE America Act (Election Law & Voter ID) Core Argument The SAVE America Act would: Require proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote Require photo ID to vote Democrats are portrayed as unanimously opposed, preventing passage due to the Senate’s 60‑vote threshold. Strategic Claim Cruz argues Republicans should: Force a “real” filibuster (continuous floor speeches) Make Democratic opposition politically and physically costly He frames Democratic resistance as intentional rather than procedural. Public Opinion Framing Polling is cited (CNN, Pew) to claim: Broad bipartisan and multiracial support for voter ID Democratic leadership (especially Chuck Schumer) is accused of ignoring their own voters. 2. Voter Fraud & Ballot Harvesting Claims Presented Ballot harvesting is described as: A system that enables fraud, especially among elderly or vulnerable populations Democrats are accused of: Supporting policies that increase fraud opportunities Reversing recommendations from the Carter–Baker Commission There is justification for: Photo ID laws Restrictions on mail-in voting Limits on third-party ballot collection 3. Somali Welfare Fraud in Minnesota Central Allegation Massive welfare fraud in Minnesota tied to programs serving the Somali immigrant community. Figures cited include: Up to half of $18 billion in welfare spending allegedly lost to fraud Disproportionately high welfare participation rates among Somali households Democratic state officials are accused of: Knowing about the fraud Allowing it to continue for political gain Silencing whistleblowers Stolen welfare funds indirectly finance al‑Shabab, a terrorist organization 4. Medical Policy Shift on Gender Surgeries for Minors Key Development The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Medical Association are described as: Reversing prior support for “gender‑affirming surgeries” for minors Now recommending deferral until adulthood Causal Explanation The reversal is attributed to: A high‑profile malpractice lawsuit by a detransitioner Legal and financial risk to medical institution Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now.
