The HEALTHIER LIFE PODCAST with Catherine Shelton is an insightful and thought-provoking podcast that provides practical applications for everyday life. Catherine's approach to having a healthier life as a woman is refreshing, as she helps listeners fuse their faith in Jesus with their health. One of the best aspects of this podcast is Catherine's extensive knowledge and use of references. She draws from books like Boundaries, Atomic Habits, and 7 Habits of Highly Successful People, as well as the Bible, to provide a well-rounded perspective on health and lifestyle choices. Additionally, Catherine's meal planning kit has been described as a life-changer by many listeners who have found it not only saves them money but also reduces decision fatigue when it comes to dinner choices. Her genuine love for the Lord shines through in every episode, making her relatable and inspiring.
Another positive aspect of The HEALTHIER LIFE PODCAST is Catherine's soothing and encouraging tone. Her voice is refreshing and her delivery instills hope and peace in listeners. She tackles topics related to nutrition, stress management, weight issues, and more, offering practical and easy-to-understand tips for healthy living. Her approach is holistic, addressing the mind, body, and soul connection that scripture teaches us to value. This makes the podcast appealing to those who are looking for a Christian perspective on health.
However, one potential downside of this podcast may be its narrow focus on Christian women. While many people may appreciate the faith-based approach to health offered by Catherine, others may feel excluded or unable to relate if they do not identify as Christian or female.
In conclusion, The HEALTHIER LIFE PODCAST with Catherine Shelton is a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their health in holistic ways while incorporating their faith into their journey. Catherine's expertise and natural teaching abilities shine through in each episode, making her an inspiring speaker. Whether you're struggling with chronic health issues or tired of traditional diet plans, this podcast offers a refreshing perspective that is both informed and grounded in scripture.

Hi! In today's episode, I'm sharing the six things I learned about managing your blood sugar levels from wearing a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) for 2 weeks. This can damage our arteries and cause us to store extra fat – hello menopause middle! Check out my 6 simple tips and start to implement them yourself today. Hi! In today's episode, I'm giving you my 4 top tips for how to balance your blood sugar! This is such an important topic because blood sugar spikes and increasing insulin resistance are one of the main reasons women find it so much harder to lose weight once they get to their 40s and 50s. Not to mention the increased risk of developing diabetes and metabolic syndrome. When you learn the 4 steps to get off the blood sugar rollercoaster you'll start to notice results such as looser clothes, clearer focus, more energy, and fewer mood swings. In today's episode, I'm talking about the fascinating history of menopause – the things women had to go through, and how we were so misunderstood and mistreated all because of a natural biological process that all women go through at some point in their lives. This is such an important topic because it sets the scene for where we are today in terms of misunderstandings, taboos, embarrassment and shame around perimenopause and our menopausal symptoms. I hope this episode is a step towards framing a more positive view of menopause, because we can't truly know where we're going until we understand where we've come from. Hi! In today's episode, I'm interviewing the lovely Kathy Davis of VegInspired and we're talking about plant-based eating. Kathy answers all your questions about: What is plant-based eating? How do I get started? What are some simple recipes for busy people? How do I make sure I'm getting the right nutrition? What if I'm feeling resistant to the idea? This is such an important topic because studies show that a predominantly whole foods, plant-based diet has so many health benefits, not to mention the benefits to the environment and to animals too. Many people, myself included, will testify how much more energized and vibrant they feel on a plant-based diet, so it's definitely worth giving it a try! In today's episode, I'm interviewing the lovely Molly Ashton. It's a little different from many of my other episodes because, although we're talking about the very important topic of self-care, it's all from the context of home education or homeschooling. So this episode is particularly for you if you are homeschooling, or you're thinking of homeschooling, or you're someone who has little kids at home with you all day every day. The reason I'm chatting with Molly today is that I've been a contributing writer to her brand new book entitled ‘Another Way To Learn? – Discovering The Beauty of Home Education – An Essential Guide'. You can grab your copy by heading to anotherwaytolearn.co.uk. If you can't guess already, I wrote the chapter all about the importance of self-care. And so that's what Molly and I are talking about today. She's picked 5 essential aspects of self-care that I talk about in my chapter and elaborates on how she personally incorporates those into her own busy lifestyle. In our conversation together, Jaclyn talks about looking at the reasons behind why we work out and the importance of letting God into your fitness journey. She tells her story about how she got sucked into the world's way of looking at fitness and how God had to show her that it had become an idol for her. Whatever your experience with fitness and gyms, Jaclyn encourages us all just to take a step back and reflect on our heart motives, especially around body image and the idea of what success means in the fitness realm. Hi friend! This episode is the second in a little mini-series I'm doing on the 3 main macronutrients. This week we're going to be looking at protein. What is protein and why is it important? What's the difference between animal-based proteins and plant-based proteins? And how much protein should I be eating? This is such an important topic, especially with lots of confusing information about protein-heavy, low-carb diets flying around today. It's also really relevant as more and more people are leaning towards plant-based diets because of environmental or ethical concerns, and want to be sure that they're doing it right. In fact, the most common question for vegans tends to be ‘Where do you get your protein?' In this episode, I'll be busting a couple of popular myths about plant-based diets and protein! Hi! Today I'm talking about sugar: what it's doing to your body, where it's creeping into your diet, how much we should be aiming for, and then ten tips for how to reduce your sugar intake. This is such an important topic because eating too much sugar is behind so many of today's chronic diseases, such as diabetes, obesity, thyroid disease, Alzheimer's and even some cancers. And yet, it's so hard to avoid because it's everywhere! When you get processed sugar out of your diet you'll feel so much better: more energy, less puffiness, less inflammation, no more afternoon slumps and even a few pounds lighter on the scale. Plus, an enhanced immune system, improved gut microbiome, and a reduced risk for all the diseases mentioned above. These 10 tips will get you started, but don't forget to sign up for the FREE 5-Day Sugar Detox Challenge beginning May 9th 2022 for added support, encouragement, accountability, tips, information and recipes. Hi! In today's episode, I'm talking about why should we, as Christians, be looking after our bodies? Why does our physical health matter? This is such an important topic because understanding our ‘why' behind all that we do when it comes to health and wellness will keep us going when things get a bit tough, or life throws us a curveball. When you know how amazing your body is, and how important it is to steward this gift well, then it'll make you want to do all you can to manage your energy levels so that you can step into the purpose for which God created you in this world. You can get excited about living up to your fullest potential and making a real impact! Hi friend! I don't know about you but it seems to me that Easter is fast becoming, if it hasn't already become, the chocolate holiday. At least that's the impression you get when you walk into any supermarket at the time I'm recording this episode. Whole aisles are dedicated to chocolate eggs of various sizes and flavours, mini eggs for Easter hunts, chocolate shaped bunnies and even chocolate bunny lollies. So I thought maybe it's a good opportunity to talk a little bit about chocolate! I did mention that cacao was one of my favourite foods back in episode 28, but I kind of feel that it deserves a whole episode in its own right, don't you? I hear a resounding yes from all my female readers! In today's episode we explore: the history of how chocolate came to Europe why do we have chocolate Easter eggs at Easter? what's the difference between cacao and cocoa? the many health benefits of chocolate what kind of chocolate to buy 3 things to look out for Happy Easter! Hi! Today on the podcast I'm chatting with Dr Orlena Kerek. Dr Orlena trained as a pediatric doctor in the UK. She now works as a health coach, teaching busy women to lead their most healthy life in a way they love, so they can feel amazing, lead a long life and teach their kids healthy living habits. Like me, Dr Orlena also has four kids, so we start off by talking about picky eaters. We then chat about the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet, and what is the Mediterranean diet, before moving on to talking about the importance of building healthy habits. Dr Orlena has a book coming out on 27th April 2022 called ‘Building Simple Habits to a Healthy Me” so we chat about that. And we also talk about the importance of getting support and accountability from a health coach, and how investing financially in your health in this way can seem like a big step but it might very well turn out to be one of the best things you've ever done for yourself! I hope you find this episode helpful and insightful. Hey Friend! Are you looking after your immune health? Our modern life, whether that's through the foods we're eating, or not eating, or the toxins we're exposed to, or our high levels of chronic stress together with not enough hours of quality sleep, is all contributing to our immune systems just not being able to function at their best and protect us as they're designed to do. My guest on the podcast this week is Health & Wellness Coach, April Likins, and she's going to be sharing the story of her own health collapse and how that both impacted her faith and put on her on a new career path. But the good news is that willpower is not something that you either have or you don't have. In this episode I talk about what willpower is; the parts of your brain that are in conflict with each other; and then 3 steps you can take to develop more willpower and make it so much easier to go for the healthier option. Hi! Today we're talking about the 3 ‘R's. Not the ones at school, but ‘Rest, Reconnecting with God and Reflection'. (And Planning, but that doesn't start with an R sadly!) I talk about why each one is so important, and I give you tips on how to fit them into your life on a daily, weekly, quarterly and yearly basis. There are lots of Bible quotes in this episode, and check out my book recommendations below. Finally, if you're listening to this in good time, come along and join us for an in-person Wellness Reset Weekend retreat where you can do all 4 of these things together! Details are in the links below – I'd love to see you there
Hi there! The number one reason women give me for why they're struggling with their health and wellness is not having enough TIME! We're just too busy. But then, if we're not careful to fit in time for healthy eating, exercise and all the other pillars of good health, then we're on a downward spiral towards burnout, and that's no good for anyone ☹ In this week's episode I talk about the number one reason why you might be struggling to find time for your health, and then I give you 5 tips (steps really) for how to turn that around and make your health a priority so that you can start living up to your full God-given potential once more. Don't forget to follow the show, and if you find this episode (and others!) helpful, then please take a moment to leave me a rating and a review – I'd so appreciate it, thank you

Plus I have 2 book recommendation and an amazing free guide for you too! If you'd like to give my feedback and suggestions for future episodes, I'd love to hear from you.
