If you missed the last episode, you might want to go back and listen because this is *fanfare* Part 2 of our Once Upon a Time tribute. In this episode we continue to take on the roles of the Witch, (who we now know is named "Kerfumbly"), Marian, and Onesie-Twosie to supply additional books for your reading list. As you recall from last time, each host plays the Witch and will supply Onesie-Twosie with their bookly desires. Then, with a little bit of sound effect magic, our other hosts will supply titles that fit that description. Will we finally get out of Kerfumbly's dungeon? The Bookmark is your place to find your next great book. Each week, join regular readers Miranda Ericsson, Chris Blocker and Autumn Friedli along with other librarians as they discuss all the books you'll want to add to your reading list.

The guys return again after a false start last year and the mess that was 2020 (and part of 2021.) Will they survive? Will they record again? That's the plan. This week's tangents include: dieting to relieve stress, college radio, the story of why Chad's grandfather believed in UFOS, a strange magazine synchronicity, Dune vs The Foundation, the question of what is Dune really about, mall culture, dealing with PTSD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and why the transporters on Star Trek are murder machines. Hey Toasties! Episode 84 is full of high octane and lots of feels. Adam keeps the pedal to the metal on his 'Fast' journey with 2 Fast 2 Furious. Then, he reviews the 10th anniversary of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World , the heartwarming Billy Crystal helmed Here Today, and the new Guy Ritchie flick Wrath of Man. Dennis gets nostalgic with the 2020 documentary, Jasper Mall. The duo mixes things up with a round of trivia. Can you keep up with the Movie Toasters? The guys close out with a toasty film-themed series. This time it's the Disney+ Clone Wars sequel, The Bad Batch. There will be bullets, there may be tears, but you'll have to Stay Toasty!
This week on End Credits, we will go to the mall. But you say it's not open because of the lockdown. Well that would be true in real life, but in screen life going to the mall is as easy as calling up your Amazon Prime app. This week, we're going to check out the documentary Jasper Mall and also give a few Oscar predictions. This Wednesday, April 21, at 3 pm, Adam A. Donaldson and Pete Salmon will discuss: Best Bets. The Oscars are happening this Sunday and the event itself will look will differently, but one thing will stay the same: there will be winners, and there will be a great many losers. In our last show before the big night, we will take the cover off the official End Credits crystal ball and consider the ones who will win, and the ones who are probably better suited to win if the Academy watched movies with their eyes open. REVIEW: Jasper Mall (2020). Guelph's own Stone Road Mall has shown incredible resiliency, but not all malls are as lucky. The titular mall in Jasper Mall is one of the unlucky ones. Filmmakers Bradford Thomason and Brett Whitcomb spent a year chronicling the slow decline of Jasper Mall after it lost two anchor tenants, and follows the workers, entrepreneurs and characters who are now spending their days trying to save it. Is Jasper Mall a valuable time capsule about the seismic shift in commercial commerce, or is it just scenes from a mall? End Credits is on CFRU 93.3 fm and cfru.ca Wednesday at 3 pm.
It's Popzara's Movie Time! So grab your Orange Julius, break out the srunchies, and tell your mom to pick you up by 7pm because we're headed to the mall. Let's begin!

The Deucecast guys round the corner and are less than a year's worth of episodes to the big 500... coming next September! But until then, Mikey, Dave, and #TwitterlessDrEarl have to give the world the four hundred and fiftieth episode! Joining the show at the top is Miss Independent himself, Jeremy Burgess, to give the update first on "Jasper Mall", the 2020 documentary that is the favorite to win Best Doc at the 2021 Deucie Awards... then an update on fundraising for the new movie "Don't Die". Then a new game, "You Never Forget Your First" with a look at the first roles of many of the biggest stars in Hollywood, plus Eric Roberts. Then, the Top Five Best Breakthroughs in Film, including Earl's pretention... And finally, the movie selection for the annual MikeTober Horror Movie Revue!
We are delighted to welcome Bradford Thomason and Brett Wittcomb, directors of the new documentary Jasper Mall, to the show. One of Ian's favorites at the Slamdance Film Festival, Jasper Mall charts a year in the life of the eponymous shopping center, struggling to keep up with a changing American retail landscape. Bradford & Brett share many insights from making the film, and the state of brick-and-mortar commerce. Jasper Mall is a must-watch for anyone feeling nostalgic for a time when we weren't all cooped up with nowhere to go. Windows Pictures Filmmakers Bradford Thomason & Brett Witcombe join us to discuss their latest documentary Jasper Mall about a charming (but dying) shopping complex that is reflective of our current soceity. Longing for a simpler time gone by you can’t help but mourn the state the Mall (& perhaps ourselves as a whole) are in. […]
A year in the life of a dying shopping mall, its patrons, and its tenants. With nostalgia for retro shopping malls at an all-time high, the film peels back the curtain to show the reality of the American mall and the individuals at the center of a rapidly changing culture.
