Hello there, detectives! Lauren Grace Thompson here—co-creator, director, and writer of Fawx & Stallion. The show is a new scripted Victorian mystery-comedy about the best detective team on Baker Street! I know what you're thinking, but it's not that one, it's the other one. Across the street, slightly to the left, at 224B Baker Street. They've been waiting for five years in the shadow of their famous neighbors for their chance in the mystery-solving spotlight, and today, we're going to share with you the first chapter of their story—when it comes to mysteries, some loser in The Strand told us that detail and context are important, and we will deliver! So without any further flair or fluff or third alliterative F-word…enjoy episode one of Fawx & Stallion. cw: Sexual references, language, robbery Transcript can be found at: https://www.224bbaker.com/fs-transcript-s1e1 https://224bbaker.com Socials: https://www.tumblr.com/224bbaker https://www.instagram.com/224bbaker

Hi there! This is Ian Geers and Lauren Grace Thompson. We're the creators and directors of The Vanishing Act: A Rambling Absurdity in 12 (ish) Parts. The basic premise of the show is this: In 1699, renowned stage magician Jean Jacquline Lemarque vanished himself and the entire audience of his magic show at his final performance at the Theatre des Tuileries in Paris. Meanwhile, in 1933, a grumpy German set designer, an American con man, an unfortunately named scientist, and a duck, all search for the answer to one question: how did he do it? And, as is usual with farces, they also get a bit sidetracked along the way. The selection you're about to hear is part of one of our new set of episodes, which is what we're eligible for as a returning show--it's from our overall tenth episode, called The Eyepatch. In it, we pick right up in Hollywood in 1937, where our previously-mentioned American con-man, Conrad Webley Griffson has bluffed and blustered his way into being the head writer of a new RKO film, the horrendously-titled The Glorious and Mournful Sort. Meanwhile, across town, grumpy expat German set designer, Augie Eckhart, is in final rehearsals for his play--the culmination of his obsession with The Disappearing of the Theatre des Tuileries, a show about the disappearance called The Vanishing Act. At the last minute, he's decided to add Lilith Von Hitzler, an unfortunately-named scientist who has finished her own replica of the Vanishing Box, to the cast, playing Jean-Jacquline Lemarque. She has many skills--acting is decidedly not one of them. This is a serialized show, so we always recommend starting from the beginning, but we think this episode will get you established pretty darn well with our main eligible cast members, and the world of the show. Welcome! Transcript can be found at: https://vanishingpod.com/tva-transcript-10 https://vanishingpod.com Twitter: @vanishingpod

The Vanishing Act will return with ACT THREE (Parts 9-12) starting on Monday, June 14th! We pick up a few months after the events of THE APPLE, with Augie right in the middle of rehearsals for the collegiate theatre premiere of his play about Jean-Jacquline Lemarque (The Vanishing Act); Griffson and Maxine's movie, The Glorious and Mournful Sort, in full production; and Lilith barreling full-force into her attempts to remake Lemarque's Vanishing Box...at any cost. Will Augie's play succeed? Who is the notorious Polytech Slasher? Will Certified 10 Rudyard T Codswallop have his revenge on Griffson? And is that duck EVER coming back? You'll just have to join us in Part Nine: The Punchline!  The Vanishing Act is a scripted comedy series, a heist, a con, a murder mystery, and a disappearing act all at once, finding a slew of off-color characters at odds with art, fame, magic, and history in the making. Episode nine premieres June 14th, 2021.  For more information, go to VanishingPod.com.  CREDITS Voices in this trailer: Sarah Price, Jess Ridenour, Daniel Millhouse, Jan Blixt, Tina Muñoz Pandya, Chris Vizurraga, Sam Hubbard, Jan Blixt, David Blixt, Laurence Stepney, Brandon Wilders, Michael Morrow, Jay Donley, Maeve Devitt, and Lauren Grace Thompson Sound design: Daniel Etti-Williams.
