Father Ben left his congregation in Binghamton, New York, in the cover of night for the smaller, quieter pastures of St. Patrick’s. As our new, young, and at times progressive priest begins to acquiesce to his new surroundings, he finds himself butting heads with the eccentric parishioners who come to him seeking solace and advice. Whether he’s trying to understand Old Margaret’s “usual” confession; parsing out how Tom can better help care for his wife’s pet pig, David; or getting to the bottom of the Christmas Eve Mass Incident, Forgive Me! explores the intertwined lives in Ben’s new community and the funny, sad, and sometimes painful experiences that come out of confession and the Catholic experience.
The Forgive Me! podcast is a surprising and delightful gem that I stumbled upon. As a Catholic household kid, I was initially skeptical about a fiction podcast centered around a Priest and confession. However, this show has proven to be an absolute revelation! It is superbly crafted in every way, from its clever writing to its excellent voice acting and production quality. But what truly sets it apart is its ability to make you feel good about humanity and life. With each new episode, you'll find yourself coming back for more, eagerly anticipating the next installment.
One of the best aspects of The Forgive Me! podcast is its ability to balance humor and poignancy. The storyline is funny yet poignant, offering a refreshing change from the dark and apocalyptic themes often found in podcasts. Particularly during these challenging times of the global pandemic, this series serves as living water for our funny bone. It brings much-needed laughter and joy into our lives while also touching on deeper emotional themes that resonate with listeners.
Another standout aspect of this podcast is its well-developed characters and compelling storytelling. Each episode offers unexpected twists and turns that keep you engaged and entertained throughout. The range of situations explored within the confessional setting is both surprising and hilarious. From the story of a Christmas Mass incident to the hilariously relatable experiences of Clara in "Youth Participation," The Forgive Me! keeps you hooked with its unpredictable yet captivating narratives.
While it's difficult to find any significant flaws in this podcast, one downside could be that there simply isn't enough of it to satisfy our cravings for more episodes. Given the high quality of the show, it's easy to binge through the first season quickly, leaving you eagerly awaiting future seasons or episodes.
In conclusion, The Forgive Me! podcast is an incredibly well-done and enjoyable series that deserves recognition. It manages to strike a perfect balance between humor and heart, making it a must-listen for fans of comedy and storytelling alike. Whether you are religious or not, this podcast offers delightful entertainment that will make you laugh, cry, and feel good about humanity. I highly recommend subscribing to The Forgive Me! podcast today and immersing yourself in the absurd world of Saint Patricks.

Hey Friends! This week, we're ecstatic to introduce you to Aplha 8, a brand new science fiction podcast from our friend Stephanie Elie. Alpha 8 After a mysterious entity named Alpha 8 crash-lands on Earth, the NARB (National Anomaly Resolution Bureau) is thrown into turmoil, while lead researcher Michael and his team scramble to determine if Alpha 8 is a friend or foe. As he embarks on a daring mission to communicate with the alien, he uncovers secrets that could challenge the NARB's authority. However, Michael's efforts are cut short when Alpha 8 escapes, and he is reprimanded for breaking protocol. Meanwhile, back at home, the Peterson family faces upheaval when Alpha 8 assumes the role of Mom! Alpha 8's attempts to blend into the family raise suspicions, particularly with Daniel, who notices something is off. As tensions mount new alliances form, and hidden threats emerge both at the NARB and back home. The Peterson siblings start to piece together a disturbing truth, setting them on a path that could change everything they thought they knew. This fun and refreshing body-swap dramedy harkens back to the heyday of family adventure films like E.T., Hook, and The Goonies. The scripts masterfully showcase the kind of inequality faced every day by working mothers, and allows for the charming band of kids in the cast to ultimately save the day. It's an incredibly fun time from start to finish, and I genuinely hope you'll take the time to listen to the entire thing. Hear the first episode of Alpha 8 right here, right now, and then go find them on the podcast player of your choice to marathon the rest of season one! In What Will Be Here?, five friends send a rocket to space with a collection of recordings on it that document the world's decline, the stories they want to tell, and their efforts in building this rocket to get their message to the stars. They wonder what their world will have become by the time their message is listened to. At its core, this show is about living and creating when things feel pointless. It's a story that came out of the pandemic, and the landscape in which this story was written and produced greatly influenced how it turned out. What Will Be Here? is set on Earth 200 years in the future, where large-scale crises are fully normalized. But despite the bleak backdrop, this story is one of hope - of overcoming challenges, of making things that might be temporary, but also things that might be launched into space and continue on forever. What Will Be Here? Episode 1, Go For Deploy. Jules introduces the team. Suri has doubts about the project. Armani makes their own golden record. Kei is in the ducts. Dane explains how the world is doomed. Content Notes: contains swearing, the brief presence of fire, recordings of several animal noises, audio of a jet, and the recording of a gunshot. No guns are present in the episode. TRANSCRIPT: https://bit.ly/wwbhe1transcript CREDITS: Jona Lune (they/them) - Jules. Sahar Iman (they/them) - Suri. Kathy Youssef (they/them) - Armani.
