Kathryn interviews Author Lisa Goodpaster.Children raised by narcissistic parents tend to have low self-esteem, over-achieving tendencies, and/or self-sabotaging behaviors as adults due to the possessive, critical, and controlling nature of their parents. Pinpointing this mental disorder can be difficult as many parents may display some narcissistic qualities, however, recognizing the common themes among actual narcissistic mothers and fathers is vital. Lisa Goodpaster, parental alienation survivor and childhood trauma educator, can speak on how to identify a narcissistic parent and the detrimental effects they have on their children. She is the founder of The Stephood Project - a social awareness campaign addressing parental alienation and the danger of not co-parenting our kids. She is also a motivational speaker who helps families and professionals understand the complex issues that arise.Kathryn also interviews Author Barbara Feigin. In July 1940, Barbara Feigin was a two-year-old toddler when she fled with her parents from Nazi Germany. Risking their lives with only $10.50, the clothes on their backs, and what they could carry, and with no idea where they would settle and how they would make a life for themselves. Over seventy years later, she made an incredible discovery–her father had kept a journal of their escape from Nazi Germany. Her parents had rarely spoken of their escape and had never mentioned her father's journal, and she remembered nothing of their passage. There had been a gaping hole in her family's history, and her father's journal would help to fill it. She shares a memoir of resilience, grit, and grace that starts with the entire text of her father's journal, relating in his own words the terrifying details of the family's escape. She graduated from Whitman College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, and completed a graduate program in business administration run jointly by Harvard Business School and Radcliffe Graduate School.

We have had quite the summer this year as our kids get ready to go back to school. Two of our boys, the oldest and youngest will be attending brand new schools for the first time. We have a college student and two middle schoolers now. They do grow up fast. As parents we try to give the best opportunities for our kiddos so they can become great adults in the future. But what if kids are brought up in a not so loving household? Our guest this week Lisa Goodpaster has had a traumatizing upbringing. Alienated from both parents by her stepmom, Lisa's the first child of divorce to come forward with proof of what happened to her. Lisa hopes by sharing her story it will bring awareness and action against parental alienation. While clearing the path for other survivors to come forward. WHY DID YOU START THE STEPHOOD PROJECT? I started the project to bring awareness of parental alienation and reach other survivors unaware of them. To ignite a positive movement forward towards parenting for our kids and generations to come. Co-parenting is so essential. Without it, any child can be led with years of trauma and confusion. This reason alone is why I started the Stephood Project. https://www.stephoodproject.org/ https://www.facebook.com/lisa.goodpaster https://instagram.com/lisa.goodpaster https://www.tiktok.com/@lisaleanosgoodpas ***** The Kris and Kristine Show ***** http://www.krisandkristineshow.com https://www.kristinesmithdesigns.com K2 RADIO: https://live365.com/station/K2-RADIO-a04551 Email: krisandkristinepodcast@gmail.com Voice Mail: https://www.speakpipe.com/KrisandKristineShow Twitter: https://twitter.com/k2showsandiego Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thek2showsandiego/?hl=en Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/k2showsandiego Patreon: www.patreon.com/thekrisandkristineshowpodcast

We discussed what happens when a man marries a much younger woman especially when not emotionally healed from a divorce and the children aren't healed from the divorce as well. Lisa talked about what her Stepmother wrote about her Mother. Trauma from the past must be handled or the same cycle will be repeated. Lisa encourages children who have been alienated to speak out. Slam the Gavel welcomes Lisa Goodpaster, author to the podcast. Lisa, now a Childhood Trauma Educator, was alienated from her mother by her stepmother for FORTY YEARS. Her story is one of the most well-known documented cases of CHILD ALIENATION in the WORLD. Lisa's ability to connect and help others UNDERSTAND the DANGERS of not Co-Parenting and the CONNECTION to PARENTAL ALIENATION is creating a positive and constructive movement forward to HELP CREATE CHANGE while clearing the PATH for other survivors to COME FORWARD. We discussed HER BOOK COMING OUT IN MAY, "Alienated When Parents Won't Parent," published by SIMON & SCHUSTER, and what it took to write this book. Parental Alienation is a NIGHTMARE. However, nobody knew what this was when, as Lisa explains, she was going through it. She knew she couldn't HEAL until she knew what actually happened. "It took FORTY YEARS for her, because a lot of kids that grew up alienated do not want to go back and revisit that Hell. Buthe past will always collide with the present until the past wounds are healed or we can understand them." Lisa explains that, "when kids get older, it can take our physical health, we get really sick and that's what happened to me. Not only is this child abuse but this is a hit at such a catastrophic place and that's why there's so many alcoholics and addicts and why so many people don't make it out. They don't know or want to believe this can happen, and that's why my book is so crucial. Because it's a mirror. IT'S REAL, IT IS 2023, NO MORE; CHANGE NOW. Such an INFORMATIVE PODCAST, not to be missed.
