Stop comparing yourself to your pastor. Their gift and timing allow for them to play their role, and the same goes for your time and gift. Seek to grow and honor God in your given reality. You need to be the light and salt that you are where you are. 1 Corinthians 12:12-20 12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? In the body of Christ, every member has a unique and vital role to play. Paul uses the human body as an analogy to show how diverse parts work together as one whole, united by one Spirit despite our differences. God intentionally creates diversity in the church, giving different people various gifts and callings to fulfill a wide range of ministries. Your unique personality and gifts aren't just welcome—they're necessary for the church to function as God intended. Discovering your role involves noticing what stirs compassion in you and acting on opportunities to serve others with your specific gifts.
