What happens when the healthcare system built to treat illness leaves you lost when the crisis is over?At just 23, Chloe Harrouche was diagnosed with breast cancer. The treatments were aggressive but clear. The aftermath? Total confusion. No roadmap, no coordinated care, no guidance on how to reclaim her health—just a system optimized for disease, not wellness. So, Chloe decided to build the healthcare experience she wished had existed for her.In this BS Free MD episode, Chloe shares her deeply personal story, the cracks she encountered in the traditional medical system, and how it led her to launch The Lanby, a concierge medicine practice that merges conventional primary care with evidence-based wellness—all under one roof. We dive into everything from siloed care and the supplement rabbit hole to the real costs of reactive medicine and how the right provider can help you proactively build resilience and longevity.Whether you're a physician, a patient, or somewhere in between, this episode will shift the way you think about modern healthcare. What We Cover:Chloe's journey from bioengineering to CEO after a shocking breast cancer diagnosisWhy the “standard of care” ends when you still have 50+ years of life to planThe illusion of choice in the wellness industry—and the danger of DIY health plansWhat a truly personalized, coordinated care team should look likeWhy more supplements ≠ better health—and how real food still mattersHow The Lanby is helping patients prioritize prevention without the insurance gameThoughts on GLP-1s, hormone health, longevity hacks, and AI in medicineChloe's call to action: Stop waiting for a diagnosis to take your health seriouslyAbout the GuestChloe Harrouche is the founder and CEO of The Lanby, a concierge medicine practice that integrates primary care and wellness under one roof. Diagnosed with breast cancer at 23, Chloe experienced first hand the challenges patients must overcome to take control of their health. The healthcare system, designed to treat illness rather than prevent it, offered no guidance on how to preserve fertility, restore hormone balance, or reduce the risk of recurrence. Like so many patients, she turned to the wellness industry for answers—but instead of finding clarity, she spiraled into restrictive diets, unsupervised biohacking, and mounting confusion. What followed was a years-long struggle with infertility that proved even more complex and emotionally taxing than her cancer diagnosis. Despite seeing the best specialists, Chloe's wellness efforts—though well-intentioned—were siloed and working against her. The experience laid bare the urgent need for a new model of primary care: one that blends the best of conventional medicine with evidence-based wellness, delivered by a coordinated care team that knows your history, your risks, and your goals. That vision became The Lanby—a modern practice designed to provide integrative, proactive, and personalized care. Chloe's mission is simple: to spare others the confusion, loneliness, and trial-and-error that defined her journey, and to build the kind of healthcare experience she wished existed when she needed it mostRapid Fire TakeawaysChloe's go-to wellness habits: walking outside + a weekly phone-free resetThe one question she wishes more patients would ask their care teamWhy “real” presence—digital and physical—still matters in healthcareResources & Links

I don't know about you, but mentally…I'm preparing for Spring!Since we're (hopefully) getting to warmer weather soon, this is a great time of year to start preparing for a ‘cut'. I've found that this is something many people think about too late though, so let's talk about it (and plan for it) NOW, before summer arrives! Before you even *think* about doing a ‘cut', you need to consider 3 missing pieces: your habits, preparation, and intentionality. You've got to be both flexible AND realistic with your goals, and make sure they're attainable for you in this season of life. I can't stress enough that you should be building habits that are SUSTAINABLE - especially before you do a ‘cut'. We're not trying to constantly do 30, 60, or 90 day challenges, and then start back at square 1 - no thanks! There will be sacrifices (usually short-term), when you're in a ‘cut' phase. Ultimately, it's up to YOU to make sure you're truly ready to commit to those changes. If you're ready to build a body (and life) that you love, I'd love to support you in doing so. There's no better time, so let's GO!!In this episode, we cover:Thinking and planning ahead of time vs. waiting until the last minuteSetting yourself up with sustainable habits BEFORE you start a ‘cut' phaseBeing flexible & realistic so you CAN be successful with your long-term fitness habits5 things to really consider when going into a ‘cut' phaseBreaking down what your ‘trade-offs' can look likeWhy you need to make sure you're *actually* serious about your fitness journey BEFORE hiring a coach or starting a workout program Links/Resources:Ep. 152 | Effective Strategies for Transitioning Through the 3 Fitness Phases: Surplus, Maintenance and DeficitJoin FIT CLUB, my monthly membership with workouts you can do at home or the gymPRIVATE COACHING is my 1:1 program (choose 3 or 6 month option)Connect with me on Instagram @kristycastillofit and @unfuckyourfitnesspodcast so we can keep this conversation going-be sure to tag me in your posts and stories!Join my FREE Facebook group, Unf*ck Your FitnessClick HERE for my favorite fitness & life things!Send me a text with episode ideas or just to say hi!

In today's episode, I want to talk about going ‘beyond the pale', because this particular phrase really stuck out to me, and I believe it's something you will resonate with as well. If you look up what this actually means (which I of course did), you'll find that it means to act in a way that is considered outside the bounds of ‘acceptable' behaviors or standards. It may be seen as outrageous, offensive, unacceptable, and even shocking.I know SO many of you are currently navigating a journey of doing something different. You're going against the grain, and you may be getting pushback from those around you because yeah…it's shocking, and they don't want to accept it.So often, we betray ourselves in our lives; we completely self-abandon what we *really* want to do for the sake of someone else's comfort. It feels ‘easier' and ‘safer' when we stay with what we've always known, and continue to get approval from the world around us. But...that's never going to allow you the joy, happiness, alignment, authenticity, and true freedom that you want in your life, is it?  I invite you to consider what going ‘beyond the pale' looks like for you. What are you going to choose? What is *really* inviting you to step further outside of where you are now?In this episode, I cover:The history behind going ‘beyond the pale'What stepping outside of ‘the pale' can look and feel likeWhy we betray ourselves in multiple areas of our livesThe little ‘gems' and ‘nuggets' we find and collect for ourselves when we actually go ‘beyond the pale'Be sure to hit subscribe so you never miss the latest episode!Connect with Emily:Follow on Instagram and FacebookJoin my email listCheck out my websiteConnect with me on LinkedInResources and Links:Gather in Growth Sponsorship InquiryBook me as a speaker for your next eventGather in Growth podcast produced by: Jill Carr PodcastingMentioned in this episode:Join us in Yellowstone!Yellowstone Retreat
