If you think the mere presence of AI determines organizational success, think again. It's when organizations use AI to support value creation that success really takes a seat at the table. In this episode of Bringing Data and AI to Life, our host Amy Horowitz, VP of the Data Governance and Data Integration Solution Sales team for Informatica, welcomes the ‘Dean of Big Data', Bill Schmarzo to the show, to unpack key strategies to transform data and AI initiatives into tangible business value. Backed by his pioneering Value Engineering Methodology, Bill reveals why successful AI adoption starts with understanding your organization's value creation process - not the technology. This conversation serves as a much-needed reminder that understanding the problem at hand is just as important (if not more) as looking for solutions.

At the heart of The Prophets' vision are “The 24 Essential Supply Chain Processes.” What are they? Find out, and see the future yourself. Click here Recorded live from the AIAG Supply Chain Conference in downtown Detroit, this episode captures real conversations with the people driving (and dealing with) supply chain change. With a fresh venue, new voices, and an unfiltered look at what's working (and what's not), the ASCP team dives into what's happening across the automotive supply chain, shaping the road ahead. The day starts with fresh eyes—Wayne State student John LaGarde shares what it's like attending his first supply chain conference. He's drawn in by the industry's complexity, but what stands out is his call for continuous learning and work-life balance—things Gen Z now expects, not just hopes for.Fred Coe, Chair of AIAG's EDI Advisory, gives an update on their latest EDI survey. 500 companies responded, and results show a split: some still use fax and email, while others have moved to APIs. The industry isn't aligned, but the interest in standardization is growing.Dr. Bing Xu from Catena-X shares what he heard at the event: companies are looking beyond old supply chain methods and focusing more on using data properly. He notes the interest in AI tools and stresses the need for fast implementation, especially with growing pressure from tariffs and supply chain instability. Then comes Sig Huber from Elm Analytics with a warning: uncertainty is paralyzing the industry. Companies aren't investing, demand is unclear, and policy changes continue. A 5% increase in the cost of goods could double the number of distressed suppliers. Whether demand rises or drops, disruption is coming. That pressure is already hitting the tier-two level. Jennifer Smith, VP of Supply Chain at Royal Technologies, explains how suppliers are stuck—OEMs want cost cuts, suppliers want margin. Her focus? Speeding up processes and getting actual context behind data. Suppliers need the "why" to make the right decisions—and that's still missing in too many places. Finally, Tanya Bolden from AIAG puts the day into perspective. The industry is changing fast. Mandates, electrification, decarbonization, and digital tools are all colliding at once. AIAG's job, she says, is to bring all those pieces to the table—while helping the next generation of professionals see that this isn't your grandfather's supply chain job.Themes discussed in this episode:The unpredictability and chaos of today's global tariff landscapeWhy AI and digital tools are now essential for managing supply chain complexityWhat the next generation of supply chain talent actually wants from employers—and why the industry needs to listenWhy transparency from OEMs matters more than ever to tier-two suppliersHow policy shifts and tariff uncertainty are paralyzing investment and planningThe risk of a bullwhip effect—and why the industry is still unprepared for sudden shifts in demandHow supply chain roles are evolving—and why the next generation needs to see that shiftFeatured guests:Name: John LaGardeTitle: Marketing and Global Supply Chain Student at Wayne State University - Mike Ilitch School of BusinessDiscussed: [03:04] First-time attendee John LaGarde shares what drew him to supply chain, what surprised him at the conference, and what today's students really want from employers. Max Licht (Enterprise AE @ MaestroQA) breaks down his shadow-based discovery process. This technique goes beyond typical discovery calls, allowing you to witness firsthand where inefficiencies and bottlenecks are happening. 1. Identify the Painful Process - Research the customer's current workflow and tools (e.g., Excel, Salesforce) to understand the manual, time-consuming steps involved. - This reveals where inefficiencies exist, giving you a clear picture of the pain your solution can alleviate. It also helps you identify the "drag them through the glass" moments where the pain is most acute, which is critical for building urgency. 2. Set Up the Shadowing Session - Frame the shadow as a collaborative step to fully understand their process. Instead of just making claims, say something like, *“Before I make any promises, I want to fully understand your current reporting process to see where we can add the most value.”* - This approach shifts the focus from selling to problem-solving, making you a trusted partner rather than just a vendor. It also sets the stage for a more meaningful business case. 3. Conduct the Shadow - Watch the prospect use their current tools and processes. Take notes, capture screenshots, and pay attention to friction points, inefficiencies, and workarounds they rely on. - Seeing the workflow in action often reveals unspoken pain points and limitations that even the prospect might not articulate in a standard discovery call. This firsthand observation helps you tailor your pitch to the reality of their day-to-day work. 4. Use Shadows to Build a Business Case - Use the insights gathered to frame your solution as a direct response to the pain points you observed. For example, highlight how your tool eliminates specific inefficiencies, reduces manual steps, or streamlines complex reporting. - This concrete evidence makes your pitch more credible and aligns your solution directly with their business goals, increasing the likelihood of internal buy-in. 5. Follow Up Strategically - After the shadow, summarize your findings in a follow-up email or meeting, highlighting specific pain points you observed and how your solution can address them. Use this to drive urgency and move the deal forward. - This reinforces your credibility as a problem-solver and keeps the conversation anchored in real, observed issues, rather than hypothetical value propositions. 6. Use the Shadow as a Catalyst for Future Conversations - Reference specific pain points in later stages of the sales cycle, using them to frame your solution as a clear, tangible fix for their current frustrations. - This approach keeps the focus on solving their problems, reducing friction in the decision-making process and increasing the likelihood of a successful close. This week on the No Doubt About It podcast, we go full throttle.Victory News anchor Mike Garofalo joins us to tackle some of the most outrageous—and revealing—stories making headlines. We kick things off with a head-scratching article from the Albuquerque Journal asking why we don't have bigger buildings downtown. The piece dances around the issue with a list of bizarre theories… but conveniently ignores the obvious: when crime, drugs, and homelessness go unchecked, developers stay far away. Mark breaks it down—and doesn't hold back. Then we dig into a heated exchange between the Albuquerque City Council and the Police Chief, showing once again how local leadership loves political theater more than solving real problems. But it gets worse. In Las Cruces, there's actually a proposal to create "safe spaces" for addicts to shoot up drugs. You read that right. Mark unleashes on how dangerous—and cruel—this policy is, and how it's a guaranteed path to tragedy. We also break down Trump's interview with Kristen Welker of Meet The Press, where she tried to corner him and ended up outmatched. Krysty walks through where the media got it wrong—again. And finally… we end with Trump as the Pope. Yes, really. A tweet that sparked everything from laughs to internal debates. Let's just say not everyone on our team was amused.Website: https://www.nodoubtaboutitpodcast.com/Twitter: @nodoubtpodcastFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/NoDoubtAboutItPod/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/markronchettinm/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D

We're on the road to RSAC 2025 — or maybe on a quantum-powered highway — and this time, Sean and I had the pleasure of chatting with someone who's not just riding the future wave, but actually building it.Marc Manzano, General Manager of the Cybersecurity Group at SandboxAQ, joined us for this Brand Story conversation ahead of the big conference in San Francisco. For those who haven't heard of SandboxAQ yet, here's a quick headline: they're a spin-out from Google, operating at the intersection of AI and quantum technologies. Yes — that intersection. But let's keep our feet on the ground for a second, because this story isn't just about tech that sounds cool. It's about solving the very real, very painful problems that security teams face every day.Marc laid out their mission clearly: Active Guard, their flagship platform, is built to simplify and modernize two massive pain points in enterprise security — cryptographic asset management and non-human identity management. Think: rotating certificates without manual effort. Managing secrets and keys across cloud-native infrastructure. Automating compliance reporting for quantum-readiness. No fluff — just value, right out of the box.And it's not just about plugging a new tool into your already overloaded stack. What impressed us is how SandboxAQ sees themselves as the unifying layer — enhancing interoperability across existing systems, extracting more intelligence from the tools you already use, and giving teams a unified view through a single pane of glass. And yes, we also touched on AI SecOps — because as AI becomes a standard part of infrastructure, so must security for it. Active Guard is already poised to give security teams visibility and control over this evolving layer.Want to see it in action? Booth 6578, North Expo Hall. Swag will be there. Demos will be live. Conversations will be real. We'll be there too — recording a deeper Brand Story episode On Location during the event.Until then, enjoy this preview — and get ready to meet the future of cybersecurity.⸻Keywords:sandboxaq, active guard, rsa conference 2025, quantum cybersecurity, ai secops, cryptographic asset management, non-human identity, cybersecurity automation, security compliance, rsa 2025, cybersecurity innovation, certificate lifecycle management, secrets management, security operations, quantum readiness, rsa sandbox, cybersecurity saas, devsecops, interoperability, digital transformation______________________Guest: Marc Manzano,, General Manager of the Cybersecurity Group at SandboxAQMarc Manzano on LinkedIn

We explore how African tech companies can leapfrog established markets by focusing on practical problem-solving instead of technology for its own sake. Hubtel's journey reveals valuable lessons for entrepreneurs looking to build lasting tech businesses that make a meaningful impact across Africa.• Technology in Africa offers immense untapped opportunities and potential to leapfrog established markets• The Citizen app in Ghana consolidates government services efficiently, something that would take years to implement in the UK• Mobile money thrives in Africa but barely exists in Europe, creating unique opportunities• Young entrepreneurs should focus on solving practical problems with technology rather than being "tech businesses"• Hubtel transformed ECG's payment system from -7% annual growth to +128%, implementing the solution in just four months• Companies should consider international expansion earlier than conventional wisdom suggests• Expanding the same service to neighboring countries often carries less risk than developing entirely new services at home• An IPO represents a "very realistic future possibility" for Hubtel as it thinks about becoming a multi-generational institution• Successful expansion requires finding underserved markets rather than competing head-on with established playersSupport the showWatch the video episode of this on YouTube - https://linktr.ee/konnectedminds

In this special edition of The Evolving Workplace series, Wayne Turmel explores the three dominant work models that have emerged in the post-pandemic world: fully remote, fully in-office, and hybrid work. While the debate continues over which model is best, Wayne takes an objective look at the pros, cons, and realities of each approach. From cost savings and productivity in remote-first organizations to the structure and collaboration of in-office setups—and the often messy compromise of hybrid work—this episode dives deep into what works, what doesn't, and how leaders can make the best decisions for their teams. Key Takeaways: Remote-First Work: Allows for talent-first hiring without geographical constraints. Increases flexibility and engagement for self-motivated employees. Challenges: branding, measuring productivity, and maintaining team culture. In-Office Work: Facilitates faster communication and relationship-building. Provides structured onboarding and training. Challenges: high costs, limited hiring pool, and less flexibility. Hybrid Work: Offers flexibility employees want while maintaining some in-person collaboration. Challenges: scheduling complexities, proximity bias, and workspace inefficiencies. Wayne also discusses the impact of leadership experience, employee expectations, and how different industries must tailor their approach to work models.

In this replay/compilation episode, we explore the drastic changes in healthcare costs since the government's increased involvement, particularly focusing on the shift from individual out-of-pocket expenses to public health insurance covering a significant portion of costs. The Real Problems Destroying Education by Bryan Wetzel Amazon.com Make no mistake, education in America is undeniably broken and careening off the tracks. This viewpoint is shared from the perspective of a father who had children navigating the education system, a husband with a wife actively contributing to the education system, and an entrepreneur who developed and sold educational resources to public schools around the country. These unique vantage points have provided an invaluable insight into the inner workings of the American education system. This book aims to offer an intimate glimpse behind the curtains, shedding light on the multitude of factors, policy decisions, and political entanglements that have contributed to the current state of our public education system. It serves as a wake-up call, revealing a myriad of issues that the majority of parents are blissfully unaware of, issues that are quietly eroding the foundations of our children's education. In addition to the author's personal experiences, we conducted interviews with 69 former teachers and administrators to gain a comprehensive understanding of how education has evolved over the years, and unfortunately, the findings indicate a negative trend. If parents were aware of these disconcerting revelations, it is safe to assume that they would have legitimate concerns. The purpose of this book is to reveal the true extent of the challenges that plague our education system in America, in the hopes of igniting a collective desire to take action and secure a brighter future for education in our nation.

Is the industry ready for humanoids? And perhaps more importantly, does the industry really need them? It's a debate that's been going on for some time, and back in episode 200, we even had an audience member call humanoids out as a gimmick! But are there real benefits to using humanoids? We welcomed back Melonee Wise, the Chief Product Officer at Agility Robotics, the pros at manufacturing mobile manipulation robots and automation solutions. Melonee explains that there are definitely practical uses for humanoids and explains some ways they may outperform regular robotics in certain scenarios, such as containerized movement. We hear a little backstory about Melonee's career and why she founded Fetch Robotics, sold it, and took her current role at Agility Robotics. While running her company, she learned a lot about finding product-market fit and ensuring that the designs of robots are viable, in demand, and safe. Safety is a key theme in this episode, and Melonee reveals some of the specific scenarios we need to prepare for if we ever hope to get a robot from the design stage to implementation. In this episode, find out:Are humanoids overhyped or is there a real use for them? The practical applications for humanoids in manufacturing and supply chain management The realities of managing robots on a production line and why instructions need to be programmed clearly Weighing up the speed of human workers vs. automated vehicles and robots, plus the other factors affecting human workers How AI plays into robotics development and why robotics would be advanced enough to progress without AI How we could manage data from robots to optimize supply chain management Why safety is always the biggest challenge with robotics and machinery and the different scenarios we need to account for before deploying a new piece of roboticsThe dangers of not thinking proactively about safety – both to the industry as a whole and to robotics developments What led Melonee to launch Fetch Robotics and how she found product-market fit with a new solution to a common problemWhy Melonee stepped away from entrepreneurship to take a role at Agility Robotics Enjoying the show? Please leave us a review here. Even one sentence helps. It's feedback from Manufacturing All-Stars like you that keeps us going!Tweetable Quotes:“Humanoids would be having their moment right now, whether or not AI was also having its moment. I think that the technology is sufficiently advanced enough that we can do the work without leveraging AI if we needed to. Now, will AI help? Yes."“There are two factors that make containerized movement great for humanoids. One, it's very standard work and robotics always loves standard processes. And two, it's highly scalable. So it's worth the investment of the development.”“Humanoids are becoming the new best friends of AMRs. So that's where we're seeing a lot of success, especially because they're highly repeatable and there are a lot of use cases for them.”Links & mentions:Agility Robotics, the world's leading manufacturer of mobile manipulation robots and automation solutions, working with the humanoid robot, DigitFetch Robotics (now Zebra), Melonee's original company, acquired by Zebra, is a robotics automation products manufacturer that helps robots work alongside humans Make sure to visit
