This episode of the pod once again finds Lindsay and Elisabeth holding down the banter fort as David is away on vacation. They begin the episode by discussing their outdoor adventures over the holiday weekend. Next, they imagine purposes for underutilized spaces in their own neighborhoods of Brewer's Hill and Bay View. They also touch on Green Talks at the Lounge—an event series centered on environmental justice and wellness in Muskego Way, which is a collaboration with Muskego Way Forward, Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, Safe & Sound, Data You Can Use and Imagine MKE. This lays the groundwork for the guest, Yesi Pérez, a local artist who serves as the Neighborhood Revitalization Coordinator at Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers.   Yesi joins the crew around 9:00. In the conversation, she reflects on her own development as a multidisciplinary creative who reflects her experience and identity through her artwork. Yesi speaks on the formative, magical experience of witnessing Aztec dance at Mexican Fiesta on the Summerfest Grounds as a child. As the daughter of two immigrants from Mexico, Yesi then had the opportunity to travel back to their home and witnessed traditional dance as more of a ritual, and less of a performance. As a result, she experienced a resurgence of creative inspiration, and was inspired to study Aztec dance and “be part of that world”. In addition to dance, Yesi has also been a lifelong visual artist and was also studied the cello for over ten years. Today, she explores her creativity through facilitating programming and engagements with residents in the Muskego Way neighborhood. She also creates marketing materials for Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, and has been a featured mural artist at various locations around Milwaukee. She talks about the intrinsic connection between creativity and wellness—and how creativity allows people to access different ways of communicating and being in community, in small ways and big ways.   Follow https://www.facebook.com/sschc/ (Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers) on Facebook. https://sschc.org/ (Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers) https://www.mexicanfiesta.org/ (Mexican Fiesta)  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concheros (Aztec Dance)  https://www.bgcsedu.org/ (Bruce Guadelupe Community School)  http://wpca-milwaukee.org/ (Walkers Point Center for the Arts)  https://www.latinoartsinc.org/strings-program/ (Latino Art Strings Program)  https://www.miad.edu/college-services/academic-services/marquette-cross-registration (Marquette/MIAD)  https://www.facebook.com/muskegowayforward/ (Muskego Way Forward)  https://safesound.org/ (Safe & Sound)  https://www.datayoucanuse.org/ (Data You Can Use)  https://city.milwaukee.gov/dpw/infrastructure/multimodal/Multi-Modal-Projects/Active-Streets (Active Streets)  https://petesfruitmarket.com/ (Pete's Fruit Market)  https://www.umos.org/ (UMOS)

With a decade of wilderness guiding experience, she knows intimately the transformative power of adventure and how good it feels to be centered in oneself. The food So Cal inspired has something for everyone and relies heavily on zestiness and spice. Among the killer cocktails and spicy tacos, we were surprised to learn the venue was child friendly, with children eating free on Wednesday’s which just adds to the versatility of the place. His grandfather opened Mexican Fiesta restaurant in Dearborn in the 1960’s and since has sustained his Uncles, Father, and his family. The upbringing or education, culture, and love for Mexico have impacted Sam’s view of the world. Hard work, entrepreneurship, and family are the values Sam’s grown into truth overtime. The Eric Bath Band was formed in the summer of '95 after the independent release of my first solo album. I had been writing songs and playing the guitar since the age of 13 but my high school band "The Pact" broke up soon after graduation. Although I continued to write songs and play the guitar the pieces never seemed to fall in place to start a new band. About six months after my wife Brenda & I were married, she encouraged me to go for my dream. So I recorded a solo album at Firebird Recording Studio here in Milwaukee. After the album was recorded opportunities to play became more frequent and it was easier to get a band together with the material in place and a game plan in hand. The band has seen more than its share of personnel changes over the past 10 years, but we are very excited about the most current lineup which includes the addition of Rick Wegner as a second guitarist as well as veterans Steve Campbell on bass guitar and my brother Chris Bath on drums. I round if off playing guitar and carrying the lead vocals and song writing duties. Over the years we have had the opportunity to serve up our own unique brand of original faith based rock-n-roll with flavors of blues, funk, and jazz mixed in for good measure. Overall one of our greatest strengths is in our lyrics which use a lot of humor, wit, and even a little bit of sarcasm to bring forth truths about life, love, & family from a believers perspective. We have been featured on local radio and television as well as at several county fairs "The Mexican Fiesta" (on Milwaukee's famed Summerfest grounds),GODSTOCK(where we cobilled with SKILLET) and other various coffee houses, bookstores, clubs and festivals across the state and in Illinois. Some may call us a Christian Rock Band but I prefer to just be known as a Rock-n-Roll band and let the music speak for itself. Every song is not about Jesus, but every song is written from the perspective of someone who can't live a millisecond without Him. When the Lord is that important to you it can't help but come out in everything you do, especially your music Eric Bath
