I had the joy of meeting Anna at the Creative Light Photography Festival in the Highlands of Scotland in October 2022. I was inspired by her, and by her many, many books on Wild Swimming. She has also had her work featured in large scale photography exhibitions. Since 2019 Anna has had seven books published, working with co-author Vicky Allan on Taking The Plunge (2019), For The Love Of Trees (2020), The Art Of Wild Swimming series (Scotland, 2021, England & Wales, 2021, and Ireland, 2022, The Ripple Effect published in 2023 and Swimming Wild Ireland in 2024, all published by Black and White Publishing/Bonnier. Also in 2021 The Wild Guide Balearic Islands book was published by Wild Things Publishing, this extensive travel guide was co-written by Anna and her sister Lizzie Graham. Anna is working on her ninth book which is due for publication in Autumn 2026. Anna hosts a popular Instagram page @wildswimmingstories which The Sunday Times magazine named as one of the Top 7 influencers to follow in the ‘Health and Fitness' category in 2023. Previous to this Anna worked in the music and entertainment industry in London for over a decade, specialising in PR and events such as NME Awards, Isle of Wight Festival, Ibiza Rocks, MOBO Awards, British Comedy Awards and Teenage Cancer Trust concerts. She co-founded the PR agency Amazing Media in 2004 who were at the forefront of working with brands such as Nokia, T- Mobile, Diageo and O2 to create dynamic partnerships with the live music industry. In this episode Janni Ayala & Rachel Anastacia sit down with our friend Mia as she talks about her experience with raising 3 boys at the age of 26.Mia has gone through 3 c-sections, the first one being an emergency when the umbilical chord wrapped around her babies neck; A MOTHER'S FEAR! She also experienced pre-eclampsia after giving birth to her youngest son. Talk about a strong mother!Mia also talks about raising a son diagnosed with ADHD and the hard decision of getting her son medicated. She says taking this difficult step has helped her mothering while also helping her child. Taking him to therapy multiple times a week with 2 other babies right by her side.Now Mia is maneuvering through being a stay at home mom, balancing a relationship with her fiancé' in the midst of being a busy mother, and learning to prioritize herself.We can't express our gratitude enough for Mia allowing herself to come on here and speak her truths for herself and all the women out there raising babies and taking care of themselves.We hope you enjoy this episode with this guest as incredible as she is.xoxo,Janni & Rach

In this Episode Janni & Rach dive into the proposed "baby bonus" that President Trump is looking to get passed by Congress, which would cost the government $17.6 BILLION to fund.Since there has been a decline in U.S. births the government is essentially "bribing" women by offering $5000 in exchange for their reproduction. A decline that has occurred AFTER banning abortion in many states and the constant increase on the price of living.We discuss the risks of getting pregnant, giving birth, and how this proposal for financial compensation is made to make women seem like machines to help fund the economic crisis in the United States, without taking into consideration the many impacts it can have on a woman and these children.The U.S. government prioritizes our unborn babies but when it comes to the babies that have been born AND their mothers, they are no longer that priority. With no paid leave for parents, expensive healthcare, and millions of children homeless each year and thousands & thousands of children in the foster care system. Make it make sense?We also mention that the governments want to increase IVF accessibly and affordability and how this is actually a good thing for women who are trying or have been struggling with getting pregnant. As many of us have seen online women sharing their IVF journeys and the constant battle these couples have to go through to reproduce. The government SHOULD help with this!We want to make it very clear that we are NOT political at all but whenever it comes to women and mothers we have to talk about it. In this episode, Janni Ayala and Rachel Anastacia talk to Janni's "baby dad"/ Romeo's dad, Quentin Williams, about his experience with co-parenting for the past 4 years and becoming a dad at 20 years old.We dive deep into the reality of raising a child in a HEALTHY co-parenting arrangement. Even though there are many benefits to having a healthy relationship between the mother and father of a child, there are the struggles of dealing the "consequences" that impact the life of that child. Especially the child's understanding of this arrangement and becoming comfortable in their reality while knowing 2 parent households exist.Quentin also talks about co-parenting while being in a relationship and the balance of being tied to the mother of his child and his girlfriend.At the end of the day, the CHILD IS MAIN FOCUS. Any relationship of the past or current one does have an impact on the child most, so it's important to be considerate and mindful of the environment in which that kid will grow and develop in.Our kid's are the product of the environment we create. They remind us of the many things we should also love about ourselves because they are the best versions of us. Our kid's deserve everything from open communication to respect to patience and everything in between. The March 2025 edition of Mardi Gras Anthems marks a decade of anthems as I started making them back in 2015. For this set I've reached back to classic hits from the 80's and 90's with modern updates as well as some more recent songs from this millennium. The set kicks off with a repurposed mix of Kylie's "Better The Devil You Know" followed by an updated mix of "Happenin' All Over Again" by Lonnie Gordon, which was one of my favourite Stock Aitken Watermen songs from back in the day. um...what do you mean an entire YEAR has already passed us by?!? in this episode, Janni and Rachel talk about how pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood is such a huge life transition for woman. often times after becoming a mother, a lot of us find ourselves grieving the women we once were before having children. that's because having a baby not only changes us physically, but it chemically alters our brains. so scientifically, we are absolutely different people. that in itself is such a hard part of motherhood-trying to take care of this little human you created, while also trying to navigate the new woman you are. but listen, you can do it. it won't be easy, and a lot of times you might feel like you might never get your spark back, but with time and a little GRACE...you fill find that spark again. and to all of the mothers on social media who have taken the time to build community on social media, we thank you. and we are beyond grateful to be a part of it. we love you ALL. thank you for an amazing year, and we can't wait to see you in the next.
