Jesters. They're just funny little guys with bells who hang around their medieval king and make wisecracks, right? As it turns out, there's actually a bit more to it. Olivia and Aran trace the origins and development of jesters, minstrels, fools, and other entertainers in the wider context of humour in the Middle Ages. Along the way, we meet some of medieval europe's weirdest guys and crack plenty of authentically medieval jokes! Also discussed are Critical Clown Studies, historical oppression of drummers, and the most single Welshman ever. For more information about some of what we discuss, check out:E.K. Legends of large, hairy, ape-like beasts can be found all over the world. Since the 1950s, the United States' version of this has been “Bigfoot”, or Sasquatch depending on the region. Not only does the legend of Bigfoot serve as a reminder to those who would desecrate its woods, but in 1976, the FBI started on a file on the creature. Tämän kertaisessa jaksossa matkustetaan jälleen Italiaan, 1950 luvulle. Kauniin nuoren naisen ruumiin löytyminen rannalta johti pitkiin tutkintoihin ja sensaatiomaisiin syytöksiin. Skandaalin seurauksena jopa Italian silloinen pääministeri Attilio Piccioni erosi tehtävistään. Myös maankuulu näyttelijätär Alida Valli nähtiin todistajan aitiossa. Mitä Wilmalle todella tapahtui? Though almost nothing is known of his life, tradition holds that Homer was blind. The ancient Greeks attributed to him the great epic poems the Iliad and the Odyssey. Modern scholars generally agree that he composed (but was not the original creator of) the Iliad, most likely relying on oral traditions, and at least inspired the composition of the Odyssey. The Iliad, set during the Trojan War, tells the story of the wrath of Achilles. The Odyssey tells the story of Odysseus as he travels home from the war. The two epics provided the basis of Greek education and culture in the Classical age, and they have remained among the most significant poems of the European tradition. The method of their composition has been long debated. From https://www.britannica.com/summary/Homer-Greek-poet. Willow Creek is technically a Census-designated place with a population of 1,710. It’s nestled on the north-east end of Humbolt County in Northern California. Willow Creek is known as the Bigfoot Capital of the World and for good reason. Not only was the widely controversial Patterson-Gimlin film shot there but also tracks found in the early 1950’s lead to the term Bigfoot being coined.WikiPedia article about Willow Creek, Californiahttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patterson–Gimlin_filmwww.press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/079790.htmlhttps://cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/bf-oct-5-1958/http://www.bfro.net/news/Wallace.aspwww.outsideonline.com/2095096/man-who- created-bigfoot#closeYouTube video (RjnfDlxnQvI)Buzzfeed Unsolved: Bigfoot. Niccolo Machiavelli was a political and military philosopher around 1500AD in Florence, Italy during the Italian Renaissance. His name is associated with shrewd, cunning rule. His most famous work, The Prince, features many tips for princes to conquer territory (whether it is decentralized, or centralized): Destroy the previous hereditary lineAttack the strong, leave the weakAct unilaterallyLive in the conquered territorySend in colonists rather than soldiersCommit all crimes simultaneously Machiavelli's perfect "Prince" has a military background and extensive knowledge in history, specifically military history. The Prince should cultivate a loyal local militia, rather than having to rely on mercenaries or auxiliaries. Large military campaigns should be conducted frequently in order to distract the populace.
