In our final interview for Season 2, Joe pulls out the big guns and surprises Jarrod with none other than the legendary Frank Oz! Frank needs no introduction, but let's give him one anyway. Frank was the original performer of Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal and Sam on The Muppet Show, as well as Bert, Grover and Cookie Monster on Sesame Street. He directed The Muppets Take Manhattan, before going on to direct films like Bowfinger and Death At A Funeral. A few years ago he released the incredible documentary Muppet Guys Talking, where he teamed up with Jerry Nelson and previous To Introduce Our Guest Star guests Fran Brill, Bill Barretta and Dave Goelz! Listen as we discuss Frank's ideas for The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made, teaming up with Dave Goelz for voice overs and drinking with Joan Rivers. Plus Muppets From Space wasn't great, Jarrod's getting surgery, and Frank thinks we're terrible at our jobs.

You know how sometimes you meet someone and they're able to bring something out of you that lets you be the kind of person that you don't usually allow yourself be?Well, I had this kind of experience this past week when I met my guest Victoria Labalme for the first time. But it wasn't just Victoria that gave me permission to open up in new ways - it was her new book - "Risk Forward"So, it was Last Sunday morning, and I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts - and Victoria was being interviewed - and practically everything she was saying was resonating with me. She was busting the myth about goal setting - saying you DON"T have to set goals every time you set out to do something new and it's OK to try things out without knowing where you're going. So, by Tuesday I had downloaded a copy of the book and i'd listened to it twice. and immediately reached out to see if she would be willing to join the show. Then on Wednesday she got back and asked if this week was possible and so we went live together and recorded this discussion on Thursday. Victoria Labalme, is a performing artist, performance coach, documentarian (her film Muppet Guys Talking is a must-watch) and she's the author of the new book, "Risk Forward - Embrace the unkown and unlock your hidden genius."She's performed in film, Television, Broadway and comedy clubs. Now she's helping people unlock their inner genius and perform at the highest levels So, to paraphrase the opening line of her book, if you're NOT one of the few people who knows exactly what they want in life - then this episode, is for you.If you love this episode and you're loving The Live Stream Show series, there's one thing that I would love for you to do: Tell one friend. Share this episode with someone who you know who is a creator, who's looking at doing video and they want to get better at it. You can help us grow the community of the people who are using video to make things better and make better things.

Welcome to episode #768 of Six Pixels of Separation. Here it is: Six Pixels of Separation - Episode #768 - Host: Mitch Joel. My friend and fellow speaker, Victoria Labalme, is a performing artist, performance coach, documentarian (her film, Muppet Guys Talking, is amazing), and author. She's performed for over two decades in film, TV, Broadway and comedy clubs. From there, she realized that helping people awaken their hidden genius and perform at their highest levels was her jam. Melding her skills gathered from the stage and comedy, she's help many distinguish their brand and find competitive advantage by blending art and business. She is in the Speaker Hall of Fame, creator of the Rock The Room program, and most recently published a small (but powerful) book titled, Risk Forward - Embrace The Unknown And Unlock Your Hidden Genius. In short, if you're not one of the few people in life who know exactly what they want to achieve, then this book is for you. Enjoy the conversation... Running time: 50:46. Frank Oz is the puppet performer and voice of several beloved characters from The Muppets and Sesame Street. Some of the Muppet characters he's performed include Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, and Sam the Eagle. His popular Sesame Street characters include Bert, Cookie Monster, and Grover. Frank is also an accomplished director. The first feature film he directed was Dark Crystal, which he co-directed with Jim Henson. He then went on to direct films like The Muppets Take Manhattan, Little Shop of Horrors, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, What About Bob, and Bowfinger. To many though, myself included, Frank is best known as the performer who brings Yoda to life in the Star Wars films. Recently he directed a documentary about what it was like for him and his colleagues to work with Jim Henson on the Muppets. The documentary is called Muppet Guys Talking: Secrets Behind the Show the Whole World Watched and will be available online for viewing on the film's site on March 16. The Muppets and the Star Wars films have meant a lot to me throughout the years, so I was eager to do the interview, one I've been pursuing ever since I met Frank at SXSW 2017. The interview finally happened recently, but it didn't go as expected. Instead of editing out the complications, I decided to include them and offer some commentary about what happened. It felt like doing so could offer a more honest look at what a creative collaboration can involve.  In this episode we discuss What it was like collaborating with Jim Henson Whether there is a place for films to convey a moral outlook How Frank gained the confidence to do voices along with his puppetry How the character of Yoda developed and what if anything inspired the character What kind of influence a good creative leader can have on others Want to hear another puppet-related episode? You might appreciate this interview with Clay Achee. His Dark Crystal fan film got featured on the Jim Henson YouTube page, which led to him getting an exclusive tour of The Jim Henson Company's studio space.
