It's all about the Cones! This week Mark and Allen break down the Episode where we are first introduced to the legendary game, "The Cones of Dunshire"! With Leslie's time on the City Council soon coming to a close, as her final task, she seeks to guarantee the longevity of the project that started it all ... the "Sullivan Street Pit", which after getting filled in became "Lot 48", and finally became the intended site for the architectural park design that is now referred to as "Pawnee Commons". Specifically, the money set aside for Pawnee Commons is in a discretionary fund. Leslie wants to move this money to a lock box to ensure it is used for that project. Unfortunately, once again seeking to thwart Leslie, Councilman Jeremy Jamm moves to table any decision on the money until Leslie is out of office. Determined to succeed with this final action, Leslie (assisted by Chris as mediator) confronts Jamm at his house and insists on hashing things out. Jamm agrees to have her and Chris stay the night, with the goal being to begin negotiations the next morning. Negotiations continue while Jamm makes them breakfast, and for some while afterwards, but Jamm continues to play hard ball, and Leslie has to think on her feet regarding her next move. Meanwhile, Ron has purchased a new cabin that will provide a more friendly environment for Diane and the kids. As a result, Ron decides it is time to sell one of his four (I mean TWO) cabins. Reluctantly realizing he might need help, he enlists Donna (and by proxy, Tom) to assist him as realtors, with April tagging along out of pure interest and curiosity. As one might imagine, Ron does not like or understand Donna and Tom's frou-frou approach to sprucing up his cabin. Making things worse, Ron very much dislikes the types of people looking to buy it, such as one bidder who wishes to buy the property purely for the land, and will thus end up demolishing the cabin. Finally, Now that Ben is no longer working for Sweetums, he had to make a decision as to his next job ... and decided to take the offer from the accounting firm that Barney Varmn works for, Tilton and Radomski. However, he had a week off until he started there, so he used his spare time creating a very nerdy and complex board called "The Cones of Dunshire" ... which I think Leslie mentally categorizes along with some of his other strange short obsessions, like clay-mation. On Ben's first day, Barney is overjoyed to see him, as always, but an employee named Frank Mann is not impressed with Ben, or his legendary status around the office, and is looking to see him fail. Ben gets put to the test on his first day, when Barney apologetically gives Ben their toughest case. As always, we tackle the tough questions, such as ... Will Jamm continue to play hardball? Can Ben crack the case, or will Frank end up gloating in his face? Will Donna give Ron the friends and family discount? Will Ron ACCEPT the friends and family discount? Can Chris figure out what is really driving Leslie to do this? Can Tom leverage this opportunity to become the mogul he's always dreamed of? Does Ben break the "Barney Curse", and finally keep his job with Tilton and Radomski? Does Leslie succeed in ensuring the future of Pawnee Commons? Does Ron end up selling his cabin, and if so, to who? Will Ben ever find a worthy home for "The Cones of Dunshire"? Who is Jamm's best friend? Loyal viewers, this one will decide the future of the Sullivan Street Pit / Lot 42 / Pawnee Commons! What will happen? Tune in to find out! After a short mini-vacay, Mark and Allen return this week to break down the Episode where Ben gets fired from Sweetums! Now having access to Eagleton's reservoir and water treatment supply, which contains fluoride, Pawnee is set to ALSO have fluoride in its water for the first time in its history. With Leslie's time on the Council now ticking away, she attempts to get her Pawnee-Eagleton reservoir merger bill approved, but Jamm counters with a bill that prohibits adding anything to Pawnee's water supply forever, as he is a dentist, loves cavities, and is therefore anti-fluoride. To sway the public, Jamm uses scare tactics by accusing Leslie of wanting to put a dangerous chemical into the water supply. Realizing there are no consequences to her actions (seeing as she has already been recalled), Leslie begins to fight back with ferocity and recruits Tom to help her spice up the idea of fluoride. Tom effectively re-brands fluoride into TDazzle, which the public loves. Meanwhile, Chris has been reading numerous parenting help books and follows them to a T. When Ron shows off his latest wood working project, building a crib for his unborn child, Chris becomes concerned that Ron is ignoring every known crib safety standard, and insists Ron accompany him to Bloomington's baby boutique store, so he can show Ron where he bought "the safest crib in the explored universe". At the store, Chris is shocked to find out that the crib he bought was recalled after a hazardous chemical was discovered in the glue. This causes Chris to change his mind, deciding he wants to do things the "Swanson way". Ron finally agrees, and plans to teach Chris how to build his own crib at the Swanson woodshop. During the lessons, however, Chris starts looking for metaphors in Ron's lessons, assuming he can learn parenting tips along the way. Finally, when April, Donna, and Craig look at Animal Control's new dog adoption website, they notice how a few dogs resemble some of the gang. This causes them to start a fun game where they pair member of the Parks Department with their "spirit dog". Everyone has a good time, until April chooses a dog for Donna ... at which point Donna gets upset, stands up, and leaves. As always, we tackle the tough questions, such as ... Can Jamm counter TDazzle, and if so, how so? Are there actually metaphors in Ron's lessons? Why did Donna get upset with April's choice? Does Sweetums gets involved in this hotly contested issue? Can Chris truly learn "the Swanson way"? How can April make things right with Donna? Will Pawnee finally get fluoride in their water? What crib does Chris end up with? What IS Donna's spirit dog? Loyal podcast viewers, the clock is ticking on Leslie's time in office ... can she make the most of it? Tune in to find out! Many thanks to our amazing sponsor, the one and only, "Sweetums".
In a rare trip to the 1970s, Big D and Gene examine the Jim Henson film that started it all: "The Muppet Movie." Sharing a respect for the wild characters and expert puppeteering in this 1979 road comedy, the Shat Crew digs into the surprisingly adult themes, delightfully quiet jokes and clever self-awareness. On the other hand, "The Muppet Movie" drags at times before culminating in a gorgeous ensemble ending. In this episode, the Shat Crew covers a real-life Orson Welles, songs that go on too long, "The Muppet Movie" legacy and whether Animal is overrated. This week Mark and Allen break down the Episode where Nick Offerman has his directorial debut! Back from her Hawaiian honeymoon with Ben, Leslie prepares for her upcoming speech at the Pawnee Correspondents' Lunch, where every year the government and media get together to roast each other ... and Leslie is determined to give it to the Pawnee Sun tabloid with both barrels. At the luncheon, Leslie confronts Pawnee Sun reporter Kim Terlando and boasts about how she's going to kick ass and take names with her speech. However, Kim is called up on stage ahead of Leslie, and when she gives HER speech, it becomes clear she somehow stole all of Leslie's jokes, leaving Leslie with nothing to present. Leslie ends up bombing on stage, and even worse, is completely perplexed as to how Kim Terlando got hold of her notes. Meanwhile, still on her quest to have a baby, Ann has chosen Chris (who just broke up with Shauna Malwae-Tweep a week ago) as her potential sperm donor. Unfortunately, Chris does not yet know this, as Ann struggles to gain the courage to speak to him about it. After avoiding several interactions with him at City Hall (and venting to Ron about her insecurities), Ann once again tries to summon the nerve to talk to Chris at the Correspondents Luncheon. However, she becomes intimidated when she not only sees Shauna present at the luncheon, but witnesses Shauna and Chris engaging in pleasant small talk ... causing her to continue to vent to Ron. Finally, Ben begins his new job as President of the Sweetums Foundation. Jessica Wicks gives Ben his first assignment: pick a charity for the company to fund. Unfortunately, she only gives Ben a day to do so, and there are hundreds of charity applications to sift through. Desperate for help, he recruits Tom, April, and Andy to help him out. April encourages Andy to do this with them, as Andy has been depressed lately after failing to become a police officer. The team generates mixed results: Tom just cares about Sweetums' fancy lunches and luxurious perks, and April (true to her nature) doesn't care a whole lot about charity ... or helping out Ben. Andy, however, gives it his best try, and actually picks out an interesting after-school music program for at-risk children. Ben is impressed by Andy's choice, and likes the idea, but is still considering other choices as well. As always, we tackle the tough questions, such as ... How did Kim Terlando get hold of Leslie's notes? Is Shauna Malwae-Tweep a genuine concern to Ann, or just a minor annoyance? What does Ben end up choosing as Sweetums' first charity? Can Leslie get her revenge on Kim Terlando? How does Ron handle Ann constantly venting to him? Will Andy ever snap out of his depression? Were Leslie's stolen jokes at least funny? Will Ann ever summon the courage to ask Chris to be her baby daddy? Are there any donations to "Tommy's Tummy Foundation"? Loyal podcast viewers, we've got new storylines, new careers ... things continue to barrel straight ahead in the little town of Pawnee, and we're all lucky enough to have a front row seat! Many thanks to our amazing sponsor, Pawnee Supersuites.

You know, when MeganBob suggested this episode, a lot of the other hosts thought they were joking. Not one to be discouraged, they found three erotic galaxy brains willing to make a "Rainbow Connection" with The Muppets. What on earth is going to happen when you get three impassioned Muppet fans together to try and find the median of Muppet f*ckability? Well, it goes a lot like an episode of The Muppet Show. Join James D'Amato, Kris Newton, Crys, and MeganBob on a quest to get "felt" up by every Muppet that's ever taken to the stage (and maybe some we found in the alley behind the theatre.) First time you saw the movie? Plot:The story opens with the Muppets sitting down at a private screening to watch a movie, for not only a screen testing, but as a pastiche of how they all met. Kermit the Frog lives a simple life in a Florida swamp. One day, he plays his banjo and sings "Rainbow Connection", and is approached by Bernie, a talent agent who encourages Kermit to pursue a career in show business. Inspired by the idea of "making millions of people happy", Kermit sets off on a cross-country trip to Hollywood. Kermit meets Fozzie Bear, who is working as a hapless stand-up comedian, and Kermit invites Fozzie on his journey. The two set out in Fozzie's 1951 Studebaker, but are soon pursued by entrepreneur Doc Hopper and his assistant Max in an attempt by Hopper to convince Kermit to be the new spokesfrog of Hopper's struggling French-fried frog legs restaurant franchise. Horrified, Kermit kindly refuses and he and Fozzie drive away. Unwilling to accept Kermit's refusal, Hopper resorts to increasingly forceful means of persuasion. In an old church, Kermit and Fozzie meet the rock band Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, and the band's manager Scooter, who help them disguise their car. Driving on, they meet and are joined by Gonzo and his girlfriend Camilla the Chicken, who are also interested in becoming movie stars. They trade in their failing vehicle at a used car lot, where they meet Sweetums. They invite Sweetums to come with them, but he runs away. The others drive away, only for Sweetums to emerge and reveal that he had only gone to pack his things. The group meets Miss Piggy at a county fair, and she immediately becomes love-stricken with Kermit. When Kermit and Miss Piggy meet for dinner that night, Hopper and Max sneak up on Miss Piggy and abduct her as bait to lure Kermit. When Kermit arrives at the designated location, mad scientist Professor Krassman tries to brainwash Kermit into performing in Hopper's advertisements, but Miss Piggy furiously knocks out Hopper's henchmen and causes Krassman to be brainwashed by his own device. However, immediately after the fight and saving Kermit, Miss Piggy receives a job offer and promptly abandons a devastated Kermit. Joined by Rowlf the Dog and reunited with Miss Piggy along the way, the Muppets continue their journey to Hollywood, but their car breaks down in the desert. Sitting at a campfire, the group sadly realizes that they will likely miss the audition the next day. Kermit wanders off, ashamed for bringing his friends on a fruitless journey, but some personal reflection restores his commitment. He returns to camp, where he discovers the Electric Mayhem have come to their rescue, having learned of their plight by reading ahead in the film's script. The Mayhem offer to drive the entire group the rest of the way in their bus. The group is warned by a reformed Max that Hopper has hired an assassin, Snake Walker, to kill Kermit. Kermit decides to face his aggressor and proposes a Western-style showdown in a nearby ghost town. There, they find inventor Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker. Kermit confronts Hopper with an appeal to Hopper's own hopes and dreams, but Hopper is unmoved and orders his henchmen to kill Kermit and his friends. They are saved when one of Dr. Honeydew's inventions, "insta-grow" pills, temporarily enlarges Mayhem drummer Animal, who frightens away Hopper and his henchmen for good. Once the Muppets reach the Hollywood studio, they finally meet studio executive Lew Lord, who signs the Muppets to a "standard 'rich and famous' contract". The first take in their attempt to perform the script goes awry when Gonzo crashes into the prop rainbow, and an explosion blows a hole in the roof of the studio. However, a real rainbow shines through the hole and onto the Muppets. Joined by other Muppet characters from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, and The Land of Gorch, the Muppets all sing together.Sweetums then tears through the movie screen in the theater, ending the film and catching up with the rest of the crew as they congratulate each other on their performances. Top Five Trivia of the movie: Top 5 Trivia-When Animal accidentally eats Dr. Bunsen Honeydew's Insta-Grow pills, he memorably balloons through the roof. Jim Henson refused to use a normal puppet on a miniature set to accomplish this effect, so his crew had to construct a gigantic Animal head that measured sixty feet.-In a 2004 interview, John Landis revealed that he was the puppeteer for Grover during the final sequence, as Frank Oz was busy operating Miss Piggy. Landis also noted that Tim Burton was also amongst the many puppeteers in the finale.-According to Austin Pendleton, James Frawley was very unhappy directing the movie, and did not get along with The Muppet performers.-The song "I'm Going to Go Back There Someday" was one of Jim Henson's favorites, and Gonzo's performer, Dave Goelz performed it at Henson's memorial.-When the film was released, The Muppet Show (1976) was the world's most popular TV show at the time, with an estimated 235 million viewers in 102 countries. **TRIPLE LINDY AWARD** **REVIEW AND RATING** TOP 5Stephen:1 Breakfast club2 T23 Sandlot4 Back to the Future5 Mail order brides Chris:1. sandlots2. Gus, Sam, and Matt are back at it again, and this time the episode is shorter than the feature length film, "Avatar".We go back to February 4, 2010, and discuss the latest episodes from NBC's Comedy Night Done Right; Community's "Romantic Expressionism", Park and Recreation's "Sweetums", The Office's "Sabre", and 30 Rock's "Verna".We also take a brief look back into the life, career, and criminal misdeeds of 30 Rock's "Don Geiss", actor Rip Torn, and how he found himself in bank in the middle of the night in late January 2010. From a podcasting standpoint, there's also some practice on reading advertisements that we'll surely never get, and retracting praise for actors who Matt has since learned is wanted by the FBI for an attempted insurrection. There's also a distinct lack of audio drops from the series in this episode due to some software malfunction, but we more than make up for it.Some questions raised but never answered are: could Andy Dwyer have been Greendale's Asscrack Bandit; was New Coke a scheme to slip high fructose corn syrup into Coke Classic; and how likely would it have been to have your car damaged if you parked at Dunder Mifflin? Besides talking about aerolae and rubber nipples; there's also tangents into Cats, Bridgerton, Human Resources (the series and the profession), Juno, Beerfest, My 600 Pound Life, Breaking Bad, Office Space, Twister, Upload, The Hangover, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Paranormal Activity, Glengarry Glen Ross, and some requisite Anchorman quotes. The aforementioned wanted actor was in Chip Mantooth's posse in Anchorman, so we should've known he was a bad guy from the get-go.You can reach the show at comedynightpodcastedright@gmail.com; and don't forget that Matt will read any and all fan mail in an upcoming podcast, if he ever gets any.Follow the show on Instagram at comedynightpodcastedright and Twitter @comedynightpod1, or join the subreddit r/comedynightpodrightYou can find Sam at sam_thistle on Instagram; and look for her previous podcast "Unsolicited Flick Picks" wherever you get your podcasts. You can find Gus at _nu_is on Instagram, and he's promising that his own podcast will be ready soon.
Live from Pawnee: A Parks and Recreation Fan Rewatch Podcast
This week Mark and Allen break down the Episode that introduces us to the heir to the Sweetums candy fortune, Bobby Newport! Bobby Newport, heir to the Sweetums candy fortune, enters the City Council race (despite a complete lack of political interest or experience) and is immediately WAY ahead of Leslie in the polls. Since Bobby refuses to debate Leslie, Ben pushes for a negative campaign attack ad during the highly rated Pawnee vs Eagleton high school basketball game. Leslie always dreamed of running a clean campaign and is very uneasy with this approach, but Ben thinks pointing out Bobby's shortcomings is the only way she can come back in the polls. They decide to have Leslie make a positive ad, Ben make a negative ad, and let the gang decide which one they like best - with the winner airing on TV. Meanwhile, Chris asks for Ron's help in delivering bad budget news, which the anti-government Ron is VERY happy to do. However, afterwards Ron becomes uncomfortable when Chris asks him out to lunch. Over time, Chris continues to offer seeming overtures of friendship, and Ron continues to avoid Chris' overtures of friendship. On a hunch, Donna suggests to Ron that *maybe* Chris misses Ben, who he was close friends with, and, was always the one to deliver bad news. Finally, when Andy gives himself a possible concussion, he and April go to Ann for medical advice, who reminds them they both have health insurance (Andy maybe for the first time), so stop being idiots and go see some freaking doctors. They initially meet with rude Dr. Harris regarding the concussion, but after Andy tells him all the ailments and injuries he acquired over the years, Dr. Harris gives them several referrals, and April and Andy prepare to spend the rest of the week going to multiple specialists for both of them. As always, we tackle the tough questions, such as ... What does Leslie think of Bobby Newport? Is Ron's automatic office door fast enough to stop Chris? Exactly how does Andy give himself a concussion? Who will win the ad-off, Leslie or Ben? Does Chris actually drug Ron? How do April and Andy deal with their insurance deductible? Loyal viewers, this episode is a great one! Be sure to tune in! Many thanks to our amazing sponsor, Pawnee Super Suites.
Jess Harrold is joined by the always entertaining Emily Wright and Piers Wehner for a fun-filled episode of the weekly round-up podcast. Emily addresses the latest in tech, from her discussions with the groundbreaking Climate X, whose unique modelling helps predict the impact of severe weather events, to the updated deadline for entries to the fifth annual EG Tech Awards. Piers offers an easy-to-understand definition of a proptech unicorn, and rounds up major news of the week, including a planning boost for Madison Square Garden and its proposals for a spherical arena in Stratford, to the impact of war in Ukraine on Raven Property Group, to the non-event of the chancellor's Spring Statement. But as their knowledge of proptech start-ups and pop culture characters is put to the test, who will triumph in a high-stakes, high-hilarity game of Pop or Prop?
Pawnee fit check! Today Parks and Rec costume designer Kirston Mann joins Rob Lowe and Alan Yang to talk about the 22nd episode of season 2. In "Telethon" Leslie struggles to fill the overnight hours at a local telethon when Tom and celebrity guest Detlef Schrempf are sidetracked at the Snakehole Lounge. On today's episode you'll hear why Ann Perkins is the best dressed person in Pawnee, how Kirston helps get to the bottom of the Ron Swanson suit mystery, as well as a unique story about Pawneean Denise Yermley! Got a question for the Pawnee Town Hall? Send us an email: ParksandRecollectionTownHall@gmail.com or leave a 30-Second voicemail at: (310) 893-6992 Leslie has volunteered to work on the 24-hour "Pawnee Cares" diabetes telethon and orders everyone in the office to work the phones for multiple shifts. Tom is assigned to pick up retired basketball player Detlef Schrempf from the airport, the special guest for the telethon. Leslie is excited because she has been allowed to program her own four-hour block, but her co-workers are upset to learn it runs from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. Additionally, she has already been up for 24 hours creating T-shirts for her staff to wear for the telethon.During lunch, Mark tells Leslie that he is going to propose to Ann. Ann suggests that Leslie get some sleep, but she plans on consuming Sweetums bars to stay awake for another 24 hours. As the telethon begins, Leslie is already exhausted and is falling asleep. With time to kill, Tom brings Detlef to the Snakehole Lounge, but the owner, Freddy (Andy Milder), refuses to let him go because Detlef is bringing a lot of business, delaying Leslie's big headliner. Andy's band, Mouse Rat, is asked to replace Detlef, but when they complete all of their songs, Leslie has nothing else to put on the air. Ron volunteers to demonstrate how to cane a chair, but his presentation is so boring that the telethon actually starts to lose money.Desperate for something to put on, Leslie tells Mark that he should propose to Ann in front of the camera and he agrees. Not long after, however, Ann confides in Leslie that she wants to break up with Mark, citing that he is simply not the one. Meanwhile, April tries to make Andy jealous by flirting with someone over the phone, but it backfires when it turns out to be Joe (Kirk Fox) from the Pawnee sewer department. Andy is forced to kick Joe out of the studio when he actually arrives to bring April to his van.The telethon's talent pool becomes so low that Leslie is forced to flip a coin in front of the camera and talk about her favorite episodes of Friends. Jerry is allowed to play the piano, but everyone dismisses his skilled playing as a racket. Mark finally returns to propose and walks on the set with the ring, but Leslie stops him by mooning the camera. Detlef Schrempf and Tom finally arrive at the end of Leslie's programming block. Detlef presents a check for $5,000, allowing the telethon to bypass its $20,000 mark. Despite being awake for two days straight, Leslie goes to Ann's house so they could talk about Mark. She then promptly falls asleep on Ann's couch for 22 hours.
Our friend Susan Yeagley AKA Jessica Wicks joins us in Pawnee today—to speak with Alan and Rob about the 21st episode of season 2! In "94 Meetings" Leslie goes all out to save a gazebo on the historical register from being destroyed. On today's show you'll hear how Susan made her character more nuanced the second time around, how working with Amy was like working with a Jedi, and the secret origin of April's nickname! Got a question for the Pawnee Town Hall? Send us an email: ParksandRecollectionTownHall@gmail.com Or leave a 30-Second voicemail at: (310) 893-6992 In an effort to keep citizens from meeting with Ron, April has scheduled all meetings for a date she thought didn't exist. Realizing the date does in fact exist, it turns out Ron is now faced with 93 meetings in a single day. He enlists the aid of April, Andy, Leslie and Ann to help handle them, while telling Jerry that he is free to go home early for the day. During her first meeting, Leslie learns a historic town monument, the Turnbill mansion, is soon to be altered by its new renter, the former Miss Pawnee beauty pageant winner Jessica Wicks (Susan Yeagley). Leslie and Tom leave to meet with her at the mansion, where Jessica is planning a birthday party for her extremely old husband, the wealthy Nick Newport Sr. (Christopher Murray), founder of the Sweetums candy company. Leslie is shocked to find that Jessica has already made alterations, such as hanging up nude portraits of herself and her husband and painting the original hardwood floors black, but completely outraged when Jessica reveals her plans to demolish an old gazebo in the backyard of Turnbill Mansion. The gazebo is the site of a historic wedding between a Pawnee Native American and white woman, which became a "bloodbath" when knowledge of the wedding became public. In efforts to thwart the demolition Leslie has Tom chain her to the front gate to prevent construction crews from entering; however, she mistakenly assumes the gate opens from the middle when it actually opens from the side, enabling the crews to enter right past Leslie and demolish the gazebo. At the end of the day, Ann and Mark arrive to free her, and Leslie finally reveals to Tom the true source of her anxiety—Mark's intentions to marry Ann. On the one hand, she wants her friends to be happy. On the other hand, she used to have romantic feelings for Mark, she feels insecure about being single, and she worries about losing her two friends. In response, Tom assures her not to worry, thus empowering Leslie to crash and ruin Jessica's party.Meanwhile, Ron and the rest of the Parks Dept. trudge on with the meetings: April acts as uninterested as possible, Andy makes promises to people against Ron's wishes, and Ann provides several medical consults. After all the meetings have concluded and a stern berating for causing the mess in the first place, April arranges her own meeting with Ron where she announces she is quitting. When Andy learns this, he convinces Ron that April is a great assistant and Ron heads to April's house to change her mind and discovers her incredibly welcoming and nice parents.Despite April's embarrassment over her normal family, Ron convinces April to stay and April reveals that she knows Ron is Duke Silver. The two exchange a look and it's clear they agree to keep each other's secrets. On her first day back, April successfully scares off a citizen wanting to meet with Ron by scheduling truly absurd meeting dates and times such as June 50th, the "one-teenth" of "march-tember" and 2:65 PM. Ron gives her an approving smile and nod while watching from his office.
Every day in Pawnee is a sweet treat, and today Rob and Alan are having seconds! In "Sweetums" Leslie and Ron become adversaries when a dishonest candy company vies for a concessions contract. On today's episode find out why the Pawnee citizens can be swayed by candy, where you can buy a "what's crackin'" belt buckle, and why this episode marks the shift from documentary to hilarious comedy. Got a question for the Pawnee Town Hall? Send us an email: ParksandRecollectionTownHall@gmail.com Or leave a 30-Second voicemail at: (310) 893-6992 The Pawnee Parks and Recreation Department considers a potential sponsorship deal with Sweetums, a local candy manufacturer hoping to market "nutritious" snack bars to park visitors. Ron supports the deal as he advocates governmental privatization and emphasizes consumer choice over public safety. Leslie initially supports the deal as well, until Ann informs her they are filled with unhealthy corn syrup. Leslie arranges a public forum for Pawnee park visitors so they can make an informed choice about Sweetums products. Ron is unhappy with the arrangement, and gets angry with Leslie worrying about how much he is drinking during a recent outing. During the forum, Sweetums representatives screen propaganda films, highlighting consumer satisfaction, while Leslie responds by screening a 30-year-old Sweetums film which discusses how corn syrup and other snack bar ingredients make cattle unhealthy. At the end of Leslie's screening, Sweetums brings in its commercial's primary actor, the company's dashingly handsome CEO Nick Newport Jr. (Gary Weeks) and impossible cute kids, Denver and Dakota. Denver instructs the forum audience members to look under their seats for candy. The forum audience cheers with excitement and ultimately votes in favor of the sponsorship deal. Ron taunts Leslie by eating two unhealthful servings of steak ("turf and turf"), but she remains genuinely concerned for his health. Ron later apologizes to Leslie for having "been a horse's ass".For the B-plot, Tom attempts to move out of his home after his divorce from Wendy. Mark reluctantly helps Tom with his pickup truck. Dona, April, Jim, and Andy help with the move, while Tom himself works very little. At the end of the episode, Tom learns that his new home has a gas leak and that he is unable to move into his new home until Monday. Tom asks the gang to take the boxes into their own homes, but they ultimately bring his possessions and leave them in the Parks and Recreation Department office. Throughout the move, April continues to develop romantic feelings for Andy, who remains oblivious to her affections. When April's boyfriend Derek and his gay boyfriend Ben arrive at Wendy's house, they mock Andy, which prompts April to refer to their behavior as "really gay for a gay couple”. The episode ends with a DJ Rhoomba dressed as a ghost, haunting Jerry and following him down the hallway of City Hall.

It'll be determined in real time who will remain inconsequential, and who may be liberated back into the hero's category. This week they argue Sweetums from The Muppets; as well as Snuffy from Sesame Street. Which Muppet will come out of the darkness and into the light as the other falls into felty obscurity. Question is, who will remain truly inconsequential

Tucked into a small corner of Disney's Hollywood Studios, Muppet Vision 3D has been hosting guests for thirty years. While the surrounding areas of the park have seen, shall we say, drastic renovations and rethemes throughout that time, this stalwart little attraction remains nearly unchanged from its opening day version. This week, we're taking a look at the history of this classic 3D attraction, the massive land that was originally planned for the area, as well as the other iterations of Muppets in Disney parks. Over New Year's, we treated our Patreon supporters to a very important thought experiment: if 27 Smurfs entered Thunderdome to compete in battles to the death, who would be the last Smurf standing? Now, we are turning our minds to the same question...but with Muppets from The Muppet Show. Naturally, we had to bring in an expert to consider the question, which is why Adam Grosswirth of the Muppeturgy podcast is here. Will Fozzie Bear emerge alive from combat with Lew Zealand and Sam the Eagle? Does Camilla the Chicken peck her way out of battle with Sweetums and Scooter? Listen as we plumb the depths of these philosophical questions and so many more! GUESTS
