"Og han gikk inn til Hagar, og hun ble med barn. Men da hun så at hun var blitt med barn, foraktet hun sin frue." (1. Mos. 16,4)Sarai følte at hun stod i veien for Guds løfte til Abram om en sønn, siden hun ikke ble gravid (v.2-3; 15,4). Og nå hastet det. Skulle løftet bli oppfylt før Abram ble for gammel, var slavekvinnen Hagar løsningen. Det kostet Sarai mye å oppgi sin rett, men i dette trekantdramaet var det ingen vinnere (v. 5-6).Hagar hadde ingen fri vilje. Det er godt mulig hun hadde hørt om løftes-sønnen og visste hvor kjærkommen han var. Men i takt med at barnet i magen vokste, vokste også forakten for Sarai. Det var menneskelige følelser som kan forstås og forklares, men likevel ingen holdbar situasjon.Bibelen forteller at det kan være vanskelig for en undertrykt å håndtere en maktposisjon på en klok måte. Og det samme for en som plutselig får stor rikdom i hendene (Ord. 30,21-23, Luk. 15,12-13). Det trengs et møte med Gud og indre legedom først. Hagar trengte det, og hun skulle få oppleve begge deler!Også vi kan ha sår og vanskelige følelser fordi noen har gjort noe vondt mot oss, tråkka på grensene våre eller ikke respektert oss. Løsningen er aldri å la det gå ut over andre. Vi trenger hjelp. Gode mennesker kan hjelpe oss gjennom rydde-prosessen, og Gud kan lege de dypeste sår! La oss søke til Ham og til den hjelpa som finns!Ja, måtte disse ordene minne oss på det, om at uansett hva vondt vi har opplevd, så er ikke løsningen å la det gå ut over andre. ORD. - ANNO A (Mt 9, 36-10,8)di Giacomo Biffi La pagina del Vangelo di Matteo, che abbiamo ascoltato, ci descrive la prima missione degli apostoli.Dal contesto della narrazione appare chiaro che Gesù la considera una missione provvisoria e sperimentale: quasi una prova generale in vista della missione definitiva di cui li incaricherà dopo la risurrezione, quando darà l'ordine di andare a tutte le genti non solo ad annunziare il Regno di Dio, ma anche a battezzare e a guidare i credenti in conformità ai suoi comandi.Alcune delle raccomandazioni qui contenute (per esempio quella di non uscire dai confini di Israele) si spiegano col carattere di preparazione e di saggio di questa prima evangelizzazione. Tuttavia nel suo insieme l'episodio è esemplare, ricco di insegnamenti, e merita tutta la nostra attenzione. Noi ci limiteremo a commentare in breve alcune frasi particolarmente rilevanti di questo brano.LA CHIESA, FRUTTO DELLA COMPASSIONE DIVINA PER L'UMANITÀ SMARRITAVedendo le folle, ne sentì compassione. Come si vede, proprio la compassione di Cristo viene indicata come il motivo sostanziale della decisione di eleggere tra i suoi discepoli dei capi responsabilizzati e di avviare così una precisa struttura ecclesiale. La ragione profonda della missione apostolica è lo stato di miseria dell'umanità: una miseria che punge il cuore del Figlio di Dio. La Chiesa dunque nasce dalla pietà del Signore e dalla sua volontà di salvezza.Qual è la natura di questa miseria?Erano stanche, sfinite, come pecore senza pastore. La stanchezza, il disorientamento, la disgregazione sono le note dolorose che l'occhio penetrante dell'Unigenito del Padre, che è diventato uno di noi, rileva nell'umanità abbandonata a sé sola.È un giudizio che è ancora pienamente attuale. Anche l'uomo di oggi spesso si sente stanco: stanco di lottare contro mille difficoltà che gli amareggiano l'esistenza; stanco di faticare senza risultato e qualche volta addirittura senza perché; stanco di non essere compreso nelle sue aspirazioni più essenziali e più vere; stanco di essere imbrogliato; stanco di essere sopraffatto da mille soprusi; stanco di essere vittima di molte ingiustizie. Magari crede di poter uscire da questa prostrazione con riforme sociali e cambiamenti politici, anche legittimi, ma che alla fine lo lasciano sempre deluso.Poi l'uomo di oggi è immerso nella confusione dei pareri, frastornato da mille messaggi e da mille proposte; e non sa più a chi credere.E trova la divisione e il conflitto perfino là dove gli sembrerebbe giusto attendersi un po' di concordia (per esempio nella propria famiglia, nel proprio ambiente di lavoro e di vita, nella propria comunità di preghiera).Perciò è smarrito: non sa più dove andare, non sa più quale sia la sua strada, non sa più quale sia il suo destino.Ebbene, appunto per venire incontro a questa disperata condizione degli uomini, Gesù sceglie i Dodici; e così dà inizio alla Chiesa.La Chiesa è dunque un dono che ci è dato per farci uscire dalla nostra stanchezza, dal nostro disorientamento, dalla nostra disgregazione; e guai a trascurare o peggio a disprezzare i doni di Dio!La Chiesa ci è data come aiuto provvidenziale a superare i nostri smarrimenti e ad approdare alle certezze vitali: stiamo attenti a non fare della nostra capacità di litigare, dei nostri problematicismi, della nostra inesauribile propensione a dubitare, quasi un titolo di merito e un segno di più consapevole ecclesialità.La Chiesa ci è data come mezzo di unificazione e di concordia: e allora non dobbiamo diventare mai all'interno della famiglia dei credenti profeti di divisione e di contestazione, magari all'insegna del diritto al pluralismo.L'INCONTRO INTIMO E PERSONALE CON CRISTOChiamò a sé i Dodici. La scelta è sua, sua la chiamata. Gli apostoli perciò non saranno tanto dei rappresentanti della "base", quanto dei "mandati" da Cristo agli uomini, i quali, in virtù della loro presenza, della loro parola, della loro azione, potranno e dovranno diventare una comunità di fratelli.Chiamò a sé. Prima di andare tra gli uomini, l'apostolo deve andare a Gesù. Prima ancora di scoprire tutte le necessità e le sofferenze del mondo che lo aspetta, deve scoprire personalmente l'amore appassionato e coinvolgente di colui che lo chiama; diversamente non è un apostolo.Prima di essere un "mandato", è un "chiamato", che deve fare della sua inalienabile intimità con Cristo la ragione della sua esistenza e l'anima della sua operosità.La preghiera è indispensabile per evangelizzareGli operai sono pochi. Pregate dunque... È una parola un po' sorprendente. Il mondo ha bisogno di apostoli, e il Signore dei cuori ritiene necessaria la nostra preghiera perché ci siano operai per la messe del Regno di Dio. Il Signore vuole che ci sia la nostra implorazione anche per le cause che stanno a cuore soprattutto a lui.Del resto, il Vangelo di Luca - narrando lo stesso episodio - ci informa che Gesù passò in preghiera l'intera notte precedente la elezione degli apostoli.Quando mancano i sacerdoti, noi siamo portati a studiare le cause del fenomeno, a organizzare inchieste, a promuovere sondaggi di opinione. Ed è giusto. Gesù però ci dà un consiglio più semplice e ci dice: Pregate...Forse questa è la più notevole diversità che c'è tra noi e il Vangelo. Noi riteniamo che i problemi del mondo si risolvano soprattutto attraverso una migliore conoscenza del mondo. Il Vangelo ci insegna che i problemi del mondo si risolvono soprattutto attraverso una più grande e intensa familiarità con Dio.

Dette var det Han selv levde, (Joh. 5,19): Han sa jo til dem: "Sannelig, sannelig sier Jeg dere: Sønnen kan ikke gjøre noe av seg selv, men bare det Han ser Far gjøre. For det Han gjør, gjør Sønnen likedan." Jesus selv var avhengig av å være påkobla sin himmelske Far. Skulle ikke vi kristne trenge det enda mer?Vi kan legge bak oss mange travle og innholdsrike dager, men det betyr ikke at de bærer frukt nødvendigvis. Og det er det vi er kalt til. Det er en naturlig forventning Gud har til oss som frelste mennesker, akkurat slik en forventer at et vintre skal bære frukt (Jes. 5,1-2). Vi skal ikke bære hvilken som helst frukt, men frukt som varer, som er av evig verdi, står det (v. 16). Da gjelder det å være påkobla Jesus i tanke og oppmerksomhet, så Hans livgivende Ord og fellesskap kan strømme gjennom oss og virke i oss. Da bærer vi frukt, automatisk!Ja, la oss lære av Jesus selv og det eksemplet Han viste. Han var påkoblet Gud som Far, og derfor bar Han frukt. In this episode, we step into the tension of Isaiah's encounter with God in the Book of Isaiah, specifically his question in Isaiah 6:11: “How long?” This question emerges in response to a sobering revelation: Israel will not return to the Lord to be healed. Isaiah is not just asking about time—he's asking about the duration of their resistance.God's answer in Isaiah 6:11–13 reframes the entire situation. Judgment will come in the form of devastation—cities laid waste, the land made desolate, and people deported into captivity. Yet embedded within this judgment is a deeper purpose: purification. Like a forest burned down to its stump, a “holy seed” will remain in the city. We explore how this imagery of fire is not merely destructive, but transformative—burning away what is corrupt so that something renewed can emerge. Even the catastrophe of Jerusalem's fall in 586 BC becomes, in this light, a refining fire that produces a remnant—a people purified and reoriented toward God's purposes.From there, we move forward to the ministry of John the Baptist in Gospel of Matthew 3:5–12, where he announces that Jesus Christ will baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire. This is very similar to the Ord's revelation to Isaiah about the nature of his purifying fire. The fire has come, not merely as external judgment, but as an internal, transformative presence. The Spirit purifies from within, burning away everything that distorts, diminishes, or resists our participation in the life of God.We close by bringing this vision into the present: the fire of God is still at work. The question is "How will we respond?" Ari Fuld var en amerikansk-israeler som bodde i det israelske området Efrat, og ble knivstukket til døde av den 16 år gamle araberen Khalil Jabarin ved Gush Etzion-krysset i Judea/Samaria, 10 minutter fra Jerusalem, 16. september 2018.Dødelig såret jaget Ari heroisk angriperen, hoppet over en lav mur, trakk våpenet sitt og skjøt Jabarin – og stanset ham fra å knivstikke en kvinnelig kjøpesenteransatt som befant seg rett i angriperens vei. Overvåkningskameraer fanget hele hendelsesforløpet. Ari kollapset deretter og ble fraktet til sykehus, hvor han ble erklært død. Terroristen overlevde skadene sine og ble senere arrestert.Tusenvis deltok i Aris begravelse i Kfar Etzion. Temporary housing is a major issue across Maui, especially for residents trying to rebuild after the Lahaina fires.  Maui County has expanded how it handles building permits for temporary dwellings, and created a new way to calculate water usage. Starting January 1, 2026, anyone applying for a building permit or new or additional water service must use a new water-use calculation method that estimates daily demand instead of just counting plumbing fixtures, which will change how meter sizes and impact fees are determined. There's a third tool that Maui agricultural landowners can use the agricultural exemption under HRS 46-88 for qualifying non-dwelling farm buildings, with required details, to avoid a full building permit. Today's episode explains the trifecta:  temporary building permits, the new water usage form, and agriculture exemptions.

Aviation News BETA to launch first commercial passenger electric aircraft with Surf Air Mobility Vermont-based electric aerospace company BETA Technologies announced an Aircraft Purchase Agreement and strategic partnership with Surf Air Mobility Inc. for 25 electric aircraft, starting with the ALIA CTOL aircraft, and options for up to 75 more. Surf Air Mobility plans to launch commercial electric aircraft passenger service in Hawaii. Surf Air also intends to operate a new Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) service center for BETA electric aircraft in Hawaii. KC-135 Crash in Iraq Kills All Six Aboard U.S. Central Command reported that a U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker crashed in western Iraq, killing all six crew members. The KC-135 was supporting operations against Iran. Another KC-135 was involved in the incident and landed safely, reportedly in Israel. U.S. officials said the crash was not caused by hostile fire or friendly fire. Early indications suggest a possible midair collision.
