Super Excellent! Today we're revisiting The Kevin & Nikee Show Podcast Special. The Kevin & Nikee Show broadcast live, at the Philadelphia Podcast Festival, brought by the Philadelphia Podcast Society. Special thanks to our sponsors, Urban Elite Beauty and VIP Transportation, for making our live broadcast a success!
Thank You! A lot of amazing people and places made the Full Belly Laughs Podcast possible, and also just made Brian Durkin a better comedian and person. Thank You, Creators Rob Zawatski, Dena Miranda, and Steve from Bridgeset Sound really helped shape the show you heard every week. Steve helped equip Brian with his current podcast gear, to make the show sound great. Dena Miranda laid down the vocals for the opening theme, and Rob helped produce and record that theme. Rob also encouraged Brian to check out podcasting, and without that nudge, none of this stuff would have happened. Thank you to Steve, Dena, and Rob. Thank You, Guests So many guests over the years made the Full Belly Laughs Podcast something special, but a few people really made the show awesome. Thank you to Megan Goetz, Ben Farrell, Joe Messina, Max Barth, Christian Mangual, and Greg Trout for their contributions to the podcast. These reoccurring guests helped shape the tone of the show, and these people really helped out Brian when another guest would cancel. They were always excited to do the podcast, and Brian is so grateful for their talent and time. Thank you to Meg, Ben, Joe, Max, Christian, and Greg. Thank You, Entities There are two venues/events that really allowed the FBL Podcast and Brian to grow. Than you to the Philly Improv Theater and the Philadelphia Podcast Festival. Without the experience of performing live at these theaters and events, the show would not be as good; Brian also grew faster as a comedian and performer thanks to these opportunities. Thank you, PHIT and PPF. Thank You, Friends and Fam There are a few people close to Brian that really supported the podcast. Special thank you to Alex Colic and Richard Chin for being supportive friends. They helped build up engagement on social media, attended live shows, and even guested on the podcast. Special thank you to Hugh Durkin (Brian's dad). He's been a big supporter of Brian's creative endeavors, and it means a lot. Finally, the closing thank you goes to Lauren Daniels. She is the #1 fan of Full Belly Laughs, inspiring Brian to always make the show entertaining. She has also encouraged Brian on his development, and she continues to be a beacon of light for his spiritual and personal growth. Thank you Alex and Rich. Thank you, Dad. Thank you, Lauren. Thank You, Fans It means so much that you took the time to check out and listen to the Full Belly Laughs Podcast. Hopefully you will enjoy the YouTube videos and the live stream on Twitch. Brian looks forward to seeing you in the comments and live chat. Brian Durkin is on Twitter and Instagram. Full Belly Laughs is on Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. Merch available at gachiGASM.com. We were late to the Philadelphia Podcast Festival, and we had to give our spot to Ron and Brian! Luckily we made it to the venue during the show, so we were able to get at least a little bit of mic time. Check out famous Ron and Brian segments Drink of the Week, This Week in Racism, Beef of the Week, and more! www.RonAndBrianPodcast.com@RonBrianPodcast
Previously unavailable to the public, it's our live show from this year's Philadelphia Podcast Festival! Recorded at Tattooed Mom on South Street, we have the audience choose our Drink of the Week, talk about weird news, answer listener questions, and we have a special appearance by fellow podcaster, Jack Billings! We also debut our new song, Who Are We Gonna Vote For?, which (sadly) is still relevant.

This is Ben Franklin like you've never heard him, obviously. As part of the Philadelphia Podcast Festival, we sat down with Philly most famous and accomplished resident at the National Liberty Museum for our first-ever recording in front of a live audience. Don't be afraid. This isn't a boring history lesson. This is Benjamin Franklin... The post Ben Franklin – Philly's Most Famous Citizen appeared first on The Philly Blunt.

Neurotica hosts its first live episode from the National Liberty Museum and is once again joined by Erin (@ebrownie) for The Philadelphia Podcast Festival! This episode explores the difficulty of pushing through with a passion despite the demands of every day life often further derailed by depression.
Have you heard the groundswell women making waves in music lately? Talia Schlanger has. The public radio powerhouse joins us to talk about the art of interviewing, the importance of uncomfortable conversations, and why “women in music” isn’t a theme—it’s just what normal looks like...on her airwaves, at least. Talia is the host of World Cafe, the iconic radio show produced by WXPN in Philadelphia and distributed nationally on NPR. Before joining the show in 2016, she was a producer and host at the CBC. In this live episode from the Philadelphia Podcast Festival, we talk about scheming and scamming her way into radio, what it was like to take over World Cafe from creator David Dye, and why she’s fighting every day for way more diversity in music. We’re not doing this as some summer camp project to try and make the world better for everyone. We’re trying to remove the biases that we have, so that we can hear the best stuff that’s out there—so that we’re not missing out because we have outdated ideas or because our ears are closed or because maybe we don’t have a frame of reference for something because all the music that we listened to maybe at a different time in the music industry was male. —Talia Schlanger, host, World Cafe Links World Cafe on NPR Talia’s bio Talia on Twitter and Instagram The interview with St. Vincent that got Talia noticed at World Cafe The (awful) Jian Ghomeshi backstory (content warning: sexual violence allegations in here) Two very different interviews with Lizzo: Fresh Air and World Cafe Plus: Everyone in Canada knows Drake Sara gets her bra signed by Australian teens Katel totally loves ska, pass it on We’re all gonna BFF Alanis someday Butt masks: a bridge too far Thanks to The Philadelphia Podcast Festival for having us, Indy Hall for hosting, and all our friends and fans who made it out!
The Ghouls were ALIVE for the Philadelphia Podcast Festival. You met Gerald Ross Jr. in Episode 7: Officer Cione. He was a police officer and homicide detective in Philadelphia in the 60s and 70s -- one of the detectives who arrived at the scene of Fred Cione's murder the night Fred was shot. That part of his story is in Episode 7. But Gerald Ross has more stories to tell than just the ones that made it into the last episode. We wanted to share some of them, like the time he was shot in the line of duty. And what it was like being an African American police officer under Police Commissioner Frank Rizzo. And he even has a few things to say about his nephew, current Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross. Come see Gone Cold LIVE at the Philadelphia Podcast Festival! We're doing the show live at 2pm on Saturday, July 27, at Indy Hall in Philadelphia (399 Market St., #360). Ronin. Ronin, Ronin, Ronin… How we had such high expectations for rewatching this car chase/heist movie. This movie nowhere near achieves the sum of its parts. The parts are impressive. A lot of people who are great in a lot of things. Many we've even fawned over before, but not this time. There is zero chemistry between anyone in this movie except for Robert DeNiro and the always fun Jean Reno. There is a forced romance angle with Bobby D and Natascha McElhone who has a quiet disconnect the entire movie. Sean Bean is okay, I guess, although he isn't given a ton to work with. His character was really poorly conceptualized, or perhaps not developed enough to make his storyline make any sense at all. Stellan Skarsgård mails it in, Jonathan Pryce is woefully miscast as an IRA terrorist, although Michael Lonsdale chews some nice scenery as Jean Pierre, it's just too little too late at that point.. The whole thing just didn't work, and it's too bad. In addition to the forced romance angle, the whole Ronin story didn't even really apply to the movie itself, and even the car chase scenes ,that it's known for, fell flat. So, naturally Mike and I do what we always do when faced with a movie that we really didn't like all that much. We roast the hell out of it. Lots of laughs in this episode, so make sure you check it out. You all are the absolute best, thank you for listening! We've gotten a really nice upswing in listeners and interactions on social media (@recastingpod wherever it matters), and it's all because you are spreading the word about the show. We also have an exciting announcement, we have just been booked for the Philadelphia Podcast Festival! Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 27th at Tattooed Mom on South Street in Philly. Make sure you come see us after the show, we'd love to bullshit with you. See you then!
