What is the Christian life really about? Is it prayer, church involvement, ministry, justice, or evangelism? These are all meaningful aspects, but is there something deeper at the heart of it all? In this episode, I reflect on a question my mentor, Chuck Miller, often asked: “What is the Christian life?” His answer offers a profound simplicity—one that shifts our focus from what we do to who we are with. Together, we’ll explore how Jesus as our Good Shepherd transforms our faith from a list of tasks into an ongoing, intimate relationship. If you’ve ever felt like the Christian life is overwhelming, like a growing list of commitments, this conversation is for you. We’ll look at Jesus’ words in John 10, where he calls his sheep by name and leads them out—not just in the past, but in the present moment. You are not alone in this journey of faith. Jesus invites you into his life, guiding you, speaking to you, and walking with you every step of the way. In this episode, we discuss: How shifting our focus from “what” to “who” can transform our faith. The image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd and why it still matters today. Practical ways to listen for and recognize the voice of Jesus in daily life. The massive land grab is paying a few to control the many. It doesn't matter what state we are talking about today the movement is the same. In fact it is global.
After we get past the Bronco's tailgating discussion we get to the abuse of the TABR dollars in Colorado.
This week on The Whiskey Trip, the journey takes us to Culpepper, Virginia, home to one of America's oldest craft distilleries—Belmont Farm Distillery. Big Chief sits down with Founder and Distiller, Chuck Miller. Known from his time on Discovery Channel's Moonshiners, Chuck helped folks like Tim Smith bring their products into the legal market. But Big Chief didn't come for the moonshine—he came to sample the whiskey Chuck has been distilling since 1989, using grain from his own farm. Chuck distills with a historic 1933, 3,000-gallon kettle still, seized from an illicit site by the state of Virginia. They begin the tasting with Belmont Farm's Virginia Bonded Whiskey, aged in used oak barrels to soften the oak influence. Next, they savor the Virginia Reserve 10-year-old whiskey, a cask strength beauty at 116 proof, made from a mash bill of 50% corn, 25% wheat, and 25% malted barley. Big Chief declares this the perfect whiskey for a desert island. Wrapping up the first half, they enjoy a smooth Virginia Bourbon at 92 proof—a testament to Chuck's incredible still. The second half kicks off with an American Single Malt, aged 4 years and bottled at 86 proof. It delivers a sharp taste and a stunning nose, underscoring why these whiskies are making waves. Then comes the Rye Whiskey, crafted from 70% rye, 25% corn, and 5% malted barley, offering that root beer candy note Big Chief loves. To close out, they sample a 100% corn whiskey at 100 proof, with flavors reminiscent of buttered popcorn. This trip was a true highlight, and it was an honor to sit down with a whiskey legend. Cheers to another memorable ride on The Whiskey Trip!

Corporal Oda Charles “Chuck” Miller served as a tank loader and tank commander in World War II. He fought in the Normandy Invasion a week after D-Day, and in the Battle of the Bulge. During World War II, American tanks were inferior to German tanks in almost every way. As a result, serving as a tank crewman was incredibly dangerous. Few made it out alive. Stephen King, in conversation with Richard Wolinsky and Lawrence Davidson, while on tour for The Dead Zone, recorded September 8, 1979 at Dark Carnival Bookstore in Berkeley, and posted in honor of his 75th birthday on September 21, 2022. At the time of this recording, Stephen King had only written a handful of books — Carrie, Salem's Lot, The Shining and the Stand preceding The Dead Zone. There were also two novels under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, which was still a secret at the time. Since then, Stephen King has become a literary institution with over 300 credits for television and film adaptations at IMDb. Myself and most of the people listening to this podcast are well aware of what it's like to buy film cameras and photography gear, but less of us know what it's like to sell it. On this, the 30th episode of the Camerosity Podcast, the gang and I bring on some current and former employees of various camera stores to give us some insight into what it's like on the other side of the counter. From Gene's Camera in South Bend, Indiana, we have owner Jack St. Pierre and regular guest Jon Gilchrist. From Alpine Camera in Des Plaines, Illinois, owner Chuck Miller. From South Florida, former camera store employee of Gold Triangle Department Store is Stephen Grasso, and finally, our own host and former camera store employee and owner, Paul Rybolt share with us stories of how things used to be, and also discuss some of the biggest changes they saw in the industry during their time. Joining our camera store crew are returning callers, Hong Lee, Mark Faulkner, Andrew Smith, Jess Ibarra, and Michael Gossett, and first time callers Andrew Almendarez and Steven Lederman who bring up other interesting topics like whether buying cameras make for good investments, whether lens fungus is contagious, and where the origins are of Kodak film. In addition to all of these exciting discussions, we witnessed the first ever "IN SHOW" purchase where Stephen Grasso buys something from Paul's eBay store! Make sure you listen in and find out what camera it is! As always the topics and discussions on the Camerosity Podcast are entirely up to you. While we make an attempt to have a general idea on how to get a show started, the topics almost always veer off into wild and unexpected directions. If you'd like to ask us a question or wish to hear us discuss your favorite brand of camera or film, consider joining us on our next episode and steer us in that direction! Be sure to look for our next show announcement coming soon, and we will record Episode 31 on Monday, July 25th! [3:22-23:31] Colson's interview kicks off with a trip down memory lane to the last time he was on the podcast in April of 2020, the height of the pandemic. This sets the tone for the rest of his interview where he discusses the hurdles he faced leading his company through COVID, the launch of Ag Access, completely moving their call center to remote work and turnover challenges that ultimately lead to the lowest turnover rate the organization has ever seen! [23:32-55:00] In Dan and Chuck's interview, they discuss data quality trends in the industry covering everything from supply shifts to fraudulent behavior.
