In Episode 1167, Sean Woodley goes solo to field a bunch of listener questions about the Toronto Raptors' first round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Off the top, Sean digs into whether the two off days will benefit the Raptors, or if the Sixers might stand to gain more of an advantage as it gives Joel Embiid another day to rest his injured thumb. Next, Sean discusses which player or adjustment has most altered the series, with the decision to dare James Harden to score against single coverage probably serving as the biggest move by either coach in the series so far to date. Next, Sean discusses Fred VanVleet, whether he should be rushed back in this series of if he's better preserved for a potential second round date with the Miami Heat -- a team that he figures to have much more success against than he's having in a diminished state against the 76ers. Plus, do the Raptors need to find him a true backup next season in the interest of keeping him fresh into the post-season? To close the show, Sean discusses whether Pascal Siakam is playoff-proof as a player, as well as whether Precious Achiuwa is the best defender on either team in this series.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!PrizePicksCheck out PrizePicks.com and use promo code: “NBA” or go to your app store and download the app today. I was joined by the Pound the Rock guys to preview the Sixers Raptors first round series and talk about why the Raptors are such a weird matchup for the Sixers in general. We discussed a whole ton of stuff including how the Raptors turning their season around, the unique ways they slow down Sixers superstar Joel Embiid and whether some regular season elements such as the Sixers foul drawing and the Raptors transition offense will be able to translate to playoff success. Some other things discussed included the coaching mismatch between Nick Nurse and Doc Rivers, why Thybulle's comments on his vaccination status that will make him ineligible to play in Toronto make zero sense and why sophomore rising star Tyrese Maxey could be a huge part of the Sixers offense in this series. We ended the episode by giving our series predictions and talking about whether the winner of this series will beat the Miami Heat and go on to make the conference finals. Enjoy! In Episode 984, Sean opens up with some thoughts on Toronto's hire of Trevor Gleeson to join the coaching staff as well as the latest Ben Simmons rumours out there in the ether. Then, Mike Richman of Locked On Blazers stops by to chat about a three-team trade machine concoction between the Raptors, Blazers and Sixers that is insane and definitely won't happen, but could theoretically fix what ails each of the teams involved. Can Ben Simmons fit with Portland as a small-ball center? Is Jusuf Nurkic perhaps the center the Raptors have been looking for? And do the Sixers improve with the additions of CJ McCollum and Kyle Lowry? All that and more is discussed on an extremely "it's the off-season" episode of the show.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
