The Pistons now know who they will play, when and in what cadence. Naturally, Blake and Wes are here to guide you through the twists and turns of the season to come. They discuss what we can actually take away from the schedule release, who the leading scorers on this team (not named Cade Cunningham) will be and why Paul Reed actually makes some sense on this roster. Blake also dips his toe into next year's NBA draft class, breaking down some early names to watch in the sophomore ranks. We've got you covered for all this and more in this week's episode. NBA cap/free agency expert and friend of the pod Keith Smith is back! To start the show, Bryce and Omari get Keith's thoughts on the drafting of Ron Holland and Bobbi Klintman. After the break, the trio go over Cade's contract extension. Should the team have waited an additional year before offering the deal? The guys also get Keith's thoughts on Tobias Harris, Paul Reed and the team's potentially improved floor spacing. To close out, we get Keith's analysis on the Pistons' offseason as a whole and which player he's keeping tabs on for improvements this upcoming season. Wes and Blake discuss the slew of Pistons news and how new head coach J.B. Bickerstaff will fit all the new and existing pieces into his rotations. Cade Cunningham signed his rookie maximum extension and now has more teammates who complement his playing style. The Pistons prioritized floor spacing with the additions of Malik Beasley, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Tobias Harris, then they added a defense-first big in Paul Reed. So, what will all the offseason moves eventually look like on the court? With NBA Summer League on the clock, the guys also preview what to look for in No. 5 pick Ron Holland.
Subscribe to PalaceOfPistons.com On this week's edition of the Palace of Pistons Podcast, Mike Anguilano and Jasper Apollonia talk about what it means to have Cade Cunningham sign an extension, impressions on J.B. The Sixers hung tough against the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road despite a brutal Tyrese Maxey performance, with Maxey missing a potential game-tying step-back 3 as time expired that would have sent the game overtime. Maxey finished the night with just 16 points on 7-25 shooting in one of his worst performances of the season, struggling to get comfortable inside of the arc against a tough Cleveland defense, and misfiring from the perimeter. The Sixers nearly pulled the game out thanks to Kyle Lowry, who had his best performance in a Sixers uniform with 23 points on 7-12 shooting. Tobias Harris added 21 and Paul Reed 12 off the bench. Derek Bodner, Devon Givens, and Kyle Neubeck discuss the missed opportunity on the road. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The creature had dark or black skin covered in masses of “skin or fins” that looked like algae growing all over its body. It seemed to have gills or matted hair that looked like gills on its face and head; two yellow eyes leered out from under a prominent forehead. That's the description one witness had for the thing in City Park, New Orleans. (The City Park Thing) *** Anyone who knew the little family before that July day would say that one thing was certain, Vernon Plager loved his wife and daughter more than anything. But then Paul Reed moved to the neighborhood, and it led to more than just a broken marriage… it led to murder. (Wrapped in Ivy) *** The moose is said to be a ghostly white and a giant of stature and weight, antlers bigger than any other moose ever seen. Considered a harbinger of doom, it was first reported in 1891… but has been seen as recently as 2002. Could this giant, ghostly moose at Lobster Lake, North Dakota actually have existed – or still exist? (The Specter Moose of Lobster Lake) *** For the citizens of Brabant Province, Belgium, the era of the Brabant Killers, left behind traumatic wounds that have never really healed. Making matters worse is the fact that the killers were never brought to justice. The Sixers had a moral victory in Denver, but Joel Embiid did not play. We debate the reasons why and if the Sixers messed it up. Then we talk about Paul Reed's big game, Pat Bev thriving in games like this, and Oubre's four assists. Then we play a new song from Prezz Carter, talk about Doc Rivers' ridiculous quote about coaching the Bucks, and discuss Spencer Dinwiddie as a trade target.
