What does Revelation mean when it says there will be “no longer any sea”? Does this mean no beaches in heaven? No oceans? In today's episode of Ask Dr. E, Dr. Michael Easley explains the biblical symbolism of the sea, the continuity between this earth and the New Heaven and New Earth, and why the glory of Christ will overshadow every earthly landscape we imagine. We look at Genesis, Revelation 20–21, millennial views, and the tension between literal and symbolic imagery. Most importantly, Dr. E reminds us that eternity will be physical, joyful, purposeful, and more beautiful than anything we cling to now.
Patriots entered the bye week in a very physical way and knocked off the Giants on Monday Night Football. How much of a statement game was last night's victory? Then, Christian Elliss' big hit on Jaxson Dart headlined that physicality which is nothing to complain about on the New York side. And, Drake Maye has firmly put himself back into the MVP conversation.
Brian Baldinger is live with the WIP Afternoon Show to discuss the Eagles and their recent struggles. While Baldy struggles to find positives on both sides of the ball, he does insist that the Eagles must begin their turn around by adding more physicality to their game.

Rabbi Michael G. Holzman joins Mark Labberton to explore the formation of his Jewish faith, the pastoral realities of congregational life, and the multi-faith initiative he helped launch for the nation's 250th anniversary, Faith 250. He reflects on his early experiences of wonder in the natural world, the mentors who opened Torah to him, and the intellectual humility that shapes Jewish approaches to truth. Their conversation moves through the unexpected depth of congregational ministry, the spiritual and emotional weight of the pandemic, the complexities of speaking about God in contemporary Jewish life, and the role of cross-faith friendships. The episode concludes with Rabbi Holzman's reflections on how the suffering in Israel and Palestine reverberates among Jews and Muslims in America. Episode Highlights "I think we are desperately in need of ways to get Americans to agree that they're in the same community… simply by naming the Declaration of Independence as a piece of shared American scripture… we are inviting people and really challenging ourselves to think about the words in those documents seriously, and prayerfully." "My formation as a child was relatively non-theological… my mother just would sit there and say, 'Do you feel that wind?' And for me, knowing that it was in a national park mattered… being in such a grand and awesome space, under the enormity of the heavens." "The pursuit of truth with epistemic humility really became the cornerstone…if Moses wasn't allowed to see God's face, I'm never gonna see God's face—and yet we are all still pursuing what the meaning of this incredible text is." "I was a little bit unprepared… until you experience it as a pastor, you don't really understand the power of those things. That rootedness in this particular congregation gave me a sense of existential meaning that I didn't anticipate." "The thing that got me through that darkness was Saturday morning Torah study… just being there with the text and with these faces and these people… that to me was my path through the darkness." "When people are sitting over the text, the most palpable experience of God is this moment of understanding another human being… it's so vulnerable and it's so fleeting and it's so beautiful." "There is an experience happening on the ground of absolute suffering and horror on both sides… and there's a parallel experience happening for Jews and Muslims in America. It's powerful, spiritually powerful, emotionally powerful, and to people's core." A rough first period for Detroit sets the tone for a loaded conversation. Sean and Mike jump between NHL chaos and high school hockey electricity, unpacking soft play, missed physicality, bad line changes, and what December usually tells us about who's a real playoff team. The guys dig into the Islanders' identity, the Wings' sustainability issues in net, and why both Montreal and Detroit may be in for a rude awakening once the postseason intensity arrives. They break down Patrick Roy's fiery response to the Rantanen hit, the modern NHL's drifting respect level, and where the line sits between “good hard hockey” and “dangerous stupidity.” From rivalries the league desperately needs back, to the effect of rule changes and league mandates on physical play, to the ever-present mystery of Kosa's usage—nothing is off-limits.Plus: Team USA and Team Canada roster debates, McKenna vs. Celebrini draft chatter, goalie dilemmas, Red Wings roster construction frustrations, and a preview of two big high school matchups coming up next week.

Frank is joined by Jamie, an Australian wrestling journalist and podcaster, to unpack Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler. They break down Mickey Rourke's career-defining turn as Randy “The Ram,” why the film treats wrestling with rare respect, how indie scenes work behind the curtain, and what the movie gets right about pain, pride, and the gig life. Expect talk on blading, deathmatches, deli counters, and the bittersweet final leap. The Wrestler - CA Timestamps & Topics 00:00 Welcome and guest intro, Jamie's magazine and The Commentary Booth 01:33 Why The Wrestler, and why it treats wrestling seriously 02:21 Indie wrestling in Australia and how regional styles differ 04:27 Two-minute plot speed run for The Wrestler 06:12 Rourke's comeback, near-miss Oscar, and how his story mirrors Randy's 07:03 Aronofsky parallels with Black Swan and the “passion vs body” theme 08:46 The physical toll: pain, injuries, and why “fake” is the wrong word 10:04 Casting what-ifs and why Rourke was the right choice 11:07 Marisa Tomei's character, boundaries, and mirrored struggles 14:18 Real wrestlers on screen: Necro Butcher, Blue Meanie, R-Truth, Nigel McGuinness 15:43 Backstage authenticity: planning matches and protecting spots 16:38 Filmmaking choices: over-the-shoulder, docu feel, sound and silence 17:11 The deli counter sequence and why it hurts so much 21:16 Blading 101, when companies allow blood, and modern policies 23:05 The indie hustle: bookings, calendars, and life on the road 25:07 Health care, rehab access, and duty of care today 26:42 Drugs, CTE, and hard lessons from wrestling's past 28:46 Favorite scenes and the ambiguous ending 31:04 Locker room rituals, “match memory,” and shared shorthand 32:50 What aged well and what hits harder in the gig economy era 34:16 Deathmatch primer and recommended watch list 43:56 Awards talk, where The Wrestler ranks, and Jamie's current projects 46:04 Outro and how to send us your challenges Key Takeaways The Wrestler is a love letter to pro wrestling that treats the craft and its workers with respect. Rourke's performance lands because his real-life arc echoes Randy's fall and claw-back. The movie nails backstage realities: match planning, protecting limbs, and protecting spots. “Fake” is a myth. Stories are scripted. Physicality is very real. Aronofsky's choices — handheld camera, long silences, ring sounds — put you in Randy's head. The deli scene is a perfect “what if” path that collapses under one bad interaction. Indie wrestling is a grind: bookings, travel, day jobs, and recovery are constant tradeoffs. Modern policies are better on rehab and blood, but the culture still battles pain and risk. Memorable Quotes “It's definitely a love letter to wrestling overall.” — Jamie “The stories are fake, but the physicality is real.” — Frank “It almost feels more like a fly on the wall documentary rather than a big budget motion picture.” — Jamie “I love the ambiguity of the ending.” — Jamie “You have to survive the bad days.” — Frank Links & Resources Our site: GeekFreaksPodcast.com GeekFreaksPodcast.com is the source of all news discussed during our podcast.
