Week 3 of the CFL season is upon us, and Brenden Escott is joined by 880 CHED's Morley Scott, to discuss the newly extended partnership between the Edmonton Elks and 880 CHED, and what the long-standing relationship means to football fans across Alberta. We also look at how the Elks used their bye week, the mood around practice and the key takeaways from Edmonton's season-opening win over Ottawa. Plus, we break down the loss of offensive lineman Coulter Woodmansey, the coaching staff's plans to fill the void and whether another rain-soaked forecast could actually work in Edmonton's favour after their wet-weather success in Week 1. And with the Montreal Alouettes arriving at Commonwealth Stadium unbeaten at 2-0, we examine what's fueled their hot start, the challenge of slowing down quarterback Davis Alexander and what a 2-0 start would say about the progress the Elks have made under Mark Kilam. Edmonton quarterback Cody Fajardo joins the show to discuss how he spent the team's early-season bye week, the importance of taking advantage of a brief reset and how preparation continues even when there isn't a game on the schedule. Fajardo also reflects on Edmonton's season-opening win in Ottawa, evaluating the offence's performance, his comfort level within the game plan and the areas the unit is focused on improving as it prepares for Week 2. The veteran pivot shares his thoughts on the importance of complementary football after all three phases contributed to the victory and explains the challenges of operating an offence in the rain-soaked conditions the Elks faced in the nation's capital. He also discusses the impact of having explosive running back Justin Rankin in the backfield, what makes him such a dangerous weapon and how the quarterback can help unlock even more opportunities for one of the league's most dynamic playmakers. Plus, Fajardo talks about developing chemistry with new receiving targets such as T. J. Luther and Josh Cephus, the excitement surrounding Edmonton's home opener at Commonwealth Stadium and the challenge of facing an undefeated Montreal squad as the Elks look to build on their strong start to the 2026 season. Linktree: https://linktr.ee/AnalyticIn this segment, Analytic Dreamz breaks down Morgan Wallen's highly anticipated 2025 'I'm the Problem' Tour, which aligns with his new album release. Starting from June 20 to September 13, Wallen, who first gained recognition on "The Voice" in 2014, will perform in major stadiums across the U.S. and Canada, including key cities like Houston, Miami, Santa Clara, and Toronto. Notable opening acts include country legends Miranda Lambert and Brooks & Dunn, alongside artists like Koe Wetzel and Thomas Rhett. Ticket prices vary significantly, with the lowest starting at $186 in Houston and peaking at $10,514 for premium seats in Santa Clara. The tour schedule spans from Houston's NRG Stadium to Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium, showcasing Wallen's broad appeal. However, not all fans are pleased; complaints include the exclusion of states like Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and New York from the tour route, alongside concerns over the high cost of tickets, some exceeding $600. Additionally, Wallen's tour comes on the heels of his 2024 legal issues, which involved a chair-throwing incident leading to probation and a DUI education program. On January 31, 2025, Wallen will release "I'm the Problem," both the album and its title track, likely adding more fuel to his already fiery career trajectory. Analytic Dreamz discusses these aspects, examining both the excitement around the tour and the controversies that continue to surround Wallen.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/analytic-dreamz-notorious-mass-effect/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

The boys are back with a fresh Monday edition of The Real Life Podcast as they sat down for a quick 30 minutes editon of the pod. On the heels of the Oilers first pre-season game, the group started the show off by talking about the first hockey game of the season and what stood out to them. For Jay, he got to bring his daughter to the game and shared a story of their quest to find Hunter The Lynx. They also talked about a few players that stood out to them in both good and bad ways. The bigger story though was the concession prices. Beers are going up, but it's not as bad at the crew thought it would be. They shared some fun strategies about how to maximize your enjoyment of a game in downtown Edmonton. They wrapped it up by talking about the Elks loss this weekend, which Tyler took in down at Commonwealth Stadium. The guys Grey Cup bit took a big hit, but they're not giving up. They also talked some NFL and at the very end, addressed the viral McDavid video from The Stanley Cup Final.
It's Monday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of the Real Life Podcast is back, edited, and ready to help you start your week. This week, the guys looked back at NFL Sunday, ahead at the Grey Cup, and wondered how The boys kicked off the Monday episode of Real Life with a conversation about this past weekend in the NFL after Baggedmilk rolled into the studio wearing a new Vikings jersey and hat. Despite the chirps about the outfit, BM was looking fresh, and no one could handle the sizzle. Talking about the Vikings led the guys to talk about some of the best sports line nicknames that they can remember from over the years.Changing gears, the guys talked about the Young Stars Tournament that happened in Penticton this past weekend and how the Oilers' rookies have struggled immensely against the Canucks and Flames. If you haven't been paying attention, Edmonton has fared poorly against its peers at the tournament, and some people are concerned about the future of the depth chart. Sticking with the Oilers, the guys spent some time on what they think the concession prices will be when the new NHL season starts. If beers were $16.50 during the playoffs, is it reasonable to expect the price to go up to $18 or more? As a result, Baggedmilk asked folks to send us a note about what everyone thinks is the most egregious price increase on concession items. It's the most wonderful time of the year...it's football time in the Mountains! You can smell it in the air! In our annual kickoff to football episode, Neil and Will sit down with an icon in High School Mountain Football lore - Coach John Hines. In a turn of events of the past year, Coach Hines left a storied tradition he built in one small community in Appalachia to now lead another mountain community - in hopes they to can make it to the "promise land" of Kroger Field (or Commonwealth Stadium as some would say)! He'll explain why the change of scenery and what gives him motivation to keep coaching. He'll share with the guys the significance of sport on small town communities and how it just hits a little different in Appalachia. Take a listen as he goes into his own career and how, if given the chance, he would still be playing the game he still most passionately loves. If you're a fan of football, or just small town community in general, he speaks to the heart of all Appalachians - and wears "a big hat." You might even hear Neil explain why one person may be the reason for an entire sport to be "cancelled." Also, don't forget the #AppBiz of the week: Martin's (Truck Parts/Peterbilt)! Oh yeah - don't forget to pick up the DVD!! The Oilers just keep winning hockey games, which meant there was plenty to talk about on the Monday episode of the Real Life Podcast.Kicking off the Monday episode of Real Life, the boys got started with some Oilers talk after the team won its seventh consecutive game and how it's been fun to watch the team rebound after such a disastrous start. That's not to say there's not plenty of work left to do, but the way the Oilers are playing right now is inspiring a sense of confidence that they'll be able to drag themselves back into a playoff position. Sticking with yesterday's game, Wanye took Wanye Jr. to his first NHL game and told the story of what it was like to have the little man experiencing the day. Changing gears, the guys looked at Ohtani Watch that took over the country on Friday and how it was a wild rollercoaster of emotions as everyone went from thinking he was signing in Toronto to obviously ending up with the LA Dodgers. Pivoting once more, Jay went to the FIS Big Air World Cup at Commonwealth Stadium and ended up having a blast despite the fact that it wasn't well advertised this year. Lastly, the guys wrapped up the podcast with a business chat after Wanye watched the Blackberry movie about the company's demise after the launch of the iPhone. Hosted on Acast.
