The Gifts of the Holy Spirit | Learning to Flow in the Gifts of the Spirit
Because Jesus condemned sin We are Free From Condemned No condemnation of those in Christ The law of the Spirit sets us free from the law of death The flesh weakened the law Jesus came in the flesh to be a sin offering to fully meet the righteous requirement For those who do not live according to the flesh but to the Spirit Are you free? The Fleshy vs Spiritual Mindset Those who live according to the flesh have the mindset of what the flesh desires Those who live according to the Spirit have their mindset on what the Spirit desires The mind governed by flesh = death The mind governed by spirit =life and peace The mind governed by flesh is hostile to God It does not submit to God's law nor can it If your mindset is wrong then your feet are going to go in the wrong direction Which mindset do you have? Like watching TV or social media you can be on two channels or two apps simultaneously. You have to choose The Spirit vs Fleshy Realm Those who are in the realm of the flesh can not please God If the spirit of god is in you then you are in the realm of the Spirit If you don't have the spirit of God then you don't belong to Christ If Christ is in you, even tho your body is subject to death you will have life and righteousness because of the spirit If the Spirit who raised Christ lives in you he will give life to your mortal bodies Which realm are you operating in? Life According to the Flesh We have an obligation not to live according to the flesh If you do, you will de If by the spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body you will live The Spirit identifies God's Children Those who the Spirit leads are God's children The Spirit doesn't make you a slave but makes you a son by adoption Now you can call God Abba Father he is now your daddy The Spirit will testify with our spirit if we are God's children Children receive an inheritance from their father We share his suffering and his glory ( we don't just take our inheritance and life the total peaceful we will have trials and how we deal with them represents his glory Our walk represents our daddy Abba it is the proof. The word Abba has the meaning papa or daddy The Desires of the Spirit vs the Flesh Walk by the Spirit to not gratify the desires of the Flesh The flesh desires what is contrary to the spirit The spirit desires what is contrary to the flesh They conflict with each other You are not to do whatever you want If you are led by the spirit you are not under the law You are either pleasing God over self or your self over God Our walk is the conduct of our lives To walk you have to be active not passive the spirit leads we follow Two ways of life, Two outcomes The Acts of the Flesh vs The Fruit of the Spirt Acts of the flesh Sexual immorality Impurity Debauchery Idolatry Witchcraft Hatred Discord Jealousy Fits of rage Self ambition Dissensions Factins Envy Drunkenness Orgies Those who practice these things will not inherit the Kingdom of God These are obvious and observable To walk in these is slavery Believers who live in the flesh will have consequences Work is something you.. Works of the flesh or works spirit ; Fruit of the Spirit Love Joy peace Patience Kindness Goodness Faithful Gentleness Self-control Just as the works of the flesh are evident so is the fruit Against these, there is no law Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh and its passions and desires We live by the spirit so we keep in step with the spirit march with the commander leading the holy spirit must be included in every move Let us not become conceited provoking and envying each other you can't take credit for the fruit you bear that's all on the Spirit and you can't envy another person's fruit The flesh must be crucified

The gifts of the Spirit- Are the gifts of the Spirit still active in the church today? The Holy Spirit can use our different personalities and gifts to edify the body of Christ. Book recommendation- "Showing the Spirit" by D.A. Carson.
Those Led by the Spirit Are the Children of God
Topics [True Mother's Anthology Book 2] - “Women will play a leading role in the ideal world I” [Living Divine Principle] - "The Human Heart as viewed through the Spiritual and Physical Minds" “Rom 8:5-14 The desires and Spirit” “Are your conscience and physical mind united into one?” [Today's Youth Ministry] - “Cultivate a personality centered on your original nature” [Living Testimony] - Glenda Lambert
-He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed- And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.- ---The Holy Ghost is promised to all believers, to all petitioners -Luk 11-13-- but many are deceived in this matter, thinking they have received the Holy Ghost when really they have not. As there are pretenders to the gifts of the Holy Ghost, so there are to his graces and comforts- we should therefore strictly examine ourselves, Have we received the Holy Ghost since we believed- The tree will be known by its fruits. Do we bring forth the fruits of the Spirit- Are we led by the Spirit- Do we walk in the Spirit- Are we under the government of the Spirit-- Matthew Henry

The Fruits of the Spirit Are a Result, Not a Command
Does Self-control only keep you from doing something wrong or can it help you decide to do something right? Most of the time we view self-control as "I had better get myself in control or I'm going to do something bad." "I has better go count to 10." Jesus' self-control allowed Him to do something right. He tells the Father, please make this cup pass from me but nevertheless, let your will be done not mine. What if self-control was about mastering our desires, both good and bad? Jesus' self-control was about doing a good thing. Could self-control be about submission to the will of God? This can be a very challenging idea. But, remember that the Fruits of the Spirit ARE fruits that come from Him not us. He is exercising His fruit in us. Let's listen in as Pastor Todd explains. We have a great honor today. Pastor Charles Carrin spoke to us at Revive church. Charles has been ministering the gospel for over 70 years. The Holy Spirit is strong in him such that if he barely touches you while passing by a supernatural anointing will come upon you. What would it be like if Jesus said "I saw you…." as he did to Nathaniel under the fig tree? Jesus pressed Nathaniel's reset button when He told him that He had seen him under that tree. Though Nathaniel was amazed at this, Jesus told him that He can tell him many more things about himself that he never even thought of. In the digital world a reset button returns an instrument to its original, intended state or position before any mistakes and readies it for a fresh start. Charles is not talking to new believers or those who are just about to make that decision. He is speaking to people who have been following Jesus for many years or decades. He is reminding us that we all need renewal. We all need God to press our reset button. Who does not need a reset in their marriage, in their business, in their education? But, remember that the Fruits of the Spirit ARE fruits that come from Him not us. He is exercising His fruit in us. Let's listen in to this powerful man of God. Our friend David joins us for part 3 and our final worship conversation! We talk about worship and how we cooperate with worship and even with the Holy Spirit. We also discussed things like our expectations (The expectations we should have a bar selves and if one another) when we worship and why we should be worshiping In our car. :) “God longs to interact with His people”Philippians 3:3 “worship by the Spirit”“Are we coming to a corporate gathering to observe what is happening or are we coming to a cooperate gathering to be part of what is happening?”“If we come to church to observe what happens we are going to become an entertainment based, consumer gathering”“My goal as a worship leader is to release the moment to the people and the Holy Spirit”“What if we all walked in to church and asked God, what do you want to do in my life today?”“God is available to comfort, heal, and deliver every person that walks in that room…I can't fathom that but, that is the truth”“There are days when the greatest offering of worship is getting in the car…and showing up”Bible…“Encourage one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” Ephesians 5:19“There is a difference when people are coming to worship and you are in a room full of people that come expectant”“What is your expectation when you walk into church?”“The Lord sees you to worship just you and Him”“Be a car worship leader” listen to the latest podcast and find out from Becky what it means to be a car worship leader (I love this!)
(Gn.6:5-8,7:1-5,10; Ps.29:1-4,9-11; Mk.8:14-21) “The voice of the Lord is over the waters, the Lord, over vast waters.” “Mighty” indeed is the voice of God, but who can hear it? Who listens to its “majestic” ringing in their ears? In the time of Noah the Lord's “heart was grieved,” for He “saw how great was man's wickedness on earth, and how no desire that his heart conceived was ever anything but evil.” So great was the Lord's grief over man's disobedience that He uttered the saddest words we could hear: “I am sorry I made them,” and resolved to “wipe [them] out from the earth.” If we have not pleased our Father, what hope have we of life? If we have not listened to His voice, what can we hear but a sentence of condemnation? It seems Jesus' heart is grieved, too, today at His disciples' ignorance of His instruction. Here in a boat upon the waters His voice chastises their slowness to comprehend His call to wakefulness in the Spirit: “Are your minds completely blinded? Have you eyes but no sight? Ears but no hearing?” and finally, “Do you still not understand?” And though He seems eminently frustrated by the fact that their vision is still trained so stubbornly on the bread of earth rather than the Bread of heaven, though they so quickly forget the miracles He has worked and the power He has revealed, yet He shall not remove them from His sight, but continue in patience with their schooling. For just as “Noah found favor with the Lord” and thus served to salvage our race from utter destruction, so the Lord's apostles have found favor with Him. And Jesus knows that as “Noah did just as the Lord had commanded him,” putting complete faith in God's word, so these disciples will also in strength and in faith carry out His mission after His own death and resurrection, after His ascension into heaven… and with the Holy Spirit's power upon them. As in Noah's ark God keeps man's “issue alive over all the earth,” preserving them from the flood, so now in the barque of Peter “all the [Lord's] household” takes refuge from the fiery destruction that is coming upon the world in these the last days. Like the “one loaf” the disciples hold in their hands is the Church of the Lord – it is all that is needed for food in this world. And so as we sail along to the farther shore, let us listen to God's mighty voice speaking through Her. As the end approaches, be sure to heed the Lord's instruction: “Keep your eyes open!” Beware the hypocrisy and pride of the powers that be. ******* O LORD, how shall we be just in your sight and begin to understand your majesty and glory? YHWH, you are majestic, exalted far above earth and sea and every living creature. But we are deaf and blind to your ways, and so, beset by wickedness. How shall we hear your mighty voice calling to us over the waters, calling to us in your Son? How shall we heed the thunder of your glory and praise you in your Temple with full voice? How do we begin to understand what is far beyond our poor minds? Send your Spirit upon us, LORD, that we might know and eat the Bread that is your Son, that we might be saved from the destruction that is coming upon all living things. Into your Ark let us come, into your holy Church; with your apostles let us dwell, enlightened by your teaching and sharing in your food. The Bread of Heaven make our own, LORD, that we might rise above the earth to where you dwell enthroned in glory and majesty with your only Son.

Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:1-11 NLT
God calls on the spiritually strong to gently restore those who have gotten tangled in sin. It's the church's built-in restoration process! God's design is not that believers remain useless and broken, but for brothers and sisters in Christ who are walking by the spirit to correct and encourage those are struggling. When done right, it's a cycle that continues through the ages. Are we walking by the Spirit? Are we living in such a way that we can participate in the restoration process?
What does it mean to be born in The Spirit? Are you willing to be re-born? "Looking Out" Part 3 with Pastor Jon Ireland
Before Jesus ascended into heaven he told his followers to wait for the "gift" of the Holy Spirit. Before their mission to the world could commence, they needed the power of the Spirit in their community. Why, today, do so many of us try to do the same thing without the Spirit? Are we living our lives unplugged from his power?

What false ideas and pagan rituals are you succumbing to in your worship that you may be unaware of? Are you steeped in and relying on traditions and the way things have always been done? Do you believe in being "slain in the Spirit"? Are you relying on your what your emotions are telling you, instead of what the Bible says? In this episode, Beware the Sand You May be Standing On, we discuss the dangers of each of these things and more. There are a lot of false ideas and trash out there about God, Christianity and the Gospel. When it comes to understanding God, what He expects of us, and the complete Gospel Message, half-truths, lack of knowledge, vague notions and generalizations can be dangerous. What are the important Biblical truths we need to know ourselves and should we be sharing with others? Join us in our podcast series - No Half Truths Allowed, loosely based on our upcoming book, No Half Truths Allowed - Understanding the Complete Gospel Message, due out in early 2020.

Should Christians desire certain spiritual gifts more than others? Can spiritual gifts be cultivated as we train ourselves to be used by the Spirit? Are spiritual gifts given at birth or after one's baptism? These and many other questions are addressed in our latest podcast.
The broken place of hatred is one of the major crises of our times. In this divided time, Grace Church can truly be different. We can be a community where hatred has no place. And, if we search Scripture, we are going to discover a way of living that will bring healing to this broken world. There is hope. Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. Philippians 1:27 Where we go, what we do, what we say - is as a representative of God's kingdom. We don't have the privilege of acting like Christ-followers every now and then. Everything we do - whether Christ-like or not - represents our king to the world. The Path of Hate: Superiority => Discrimination => Dehumanization Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross. Philippians 2:1-8 We don't reverse the path of hate by just not being racist or not dehumanizing people. We reverse the path of hate by walking an entirely different path. The Path of Self-Giving Love: Humility => Compassion => Elevation To heal the broken place of hatred, we must walk the path of self-giving love. There is hope, because we are not a church content to let the world around us burn with hatred. We're not a church which lets our culture tell us who we should or shouldn't love. We are a church that has been called by God to help heal this broken world, and that's exactly what we're going to do.
In the wake of the recent horrific attack on Muslim worshippers in New Zealand, I talk about the importance of using the power of love to change all the relationships in our culture and our world. God's answer to hatred, division, anger, and violence was--and is--love! Philippians 2: 1-11, NLT 2 Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. 3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Living in sync with his heart and his ways, obedient to the spirit in us, releasing heaven on earth in all things. Oaks of righteousness, on display for his glory. Vessels carrying his glory into the earth / sourced from a heavenly place. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,Ephesians 2:4BUT DO WE REALLY BELIEVE THIS?! What have we believed about who we are in Christ? What thoughts do we have toward ourselves? Our abilities Our inadequacies Our lack?We need to bring our thoughts under the judgement of the word. Hebrews 4:12-13 - For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.Division of Soul & Spirit - Is this me, or is this God? Is this the mind of Jason, of is this the Mind of Christ!? How am I thinking? Am I setting my mind on the flesh ( soul ) or am I setting my mind on the Spirit? JUDGE MY THOUGHTS LORDSubmit your thoughts and attitudes to God for judgment. Lord, here’s how I’m feeling. Here’s what I’m thinking. Here’t the current attitude of my heart. Give your judgement, Lord. Is this Soul? Is this Spirit? Are we SOUL thinking or are we SPIRIT thinking? Romans 8:6-8 - For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.Is my mind set on the flesh, or is my mind set on the Spirit? We can’t sort out the flesh by acting in the flesh. We sort out the flesh by acting in the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 - For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, 4 since the weapons of our warfare† are not of the flesh, but are powerful† through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments 5 and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge† of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.Stronghold : a fortified, military stronghold; a strong-walled fortressJoshua 6:20 - So the troops shouted, and the trumpets sounded. When they heard the blast of the trumpet, the troops gave a great shout, and the wall collapsed.† The troops advanced into the city, each man straight ahead, and they captured the city. While we’ve reached the end of our Vision Series, we stand on the starting line of working it out. This past weekend we talked about Holy Spirit and how all the parts of this vision can come alive if we walk them in-step with the Spirit. This isn’t just for Church services but also – for each of us. Are we hearing from the Spirit? Are we comforted by the Spirit? Are we moving with the Spirit? What can this year look like if we do all things in partnership with the Spirit?

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,Ephesians 2:4BUT DO WE REALLY BELIeVE THIS?! What have we believed about who we are in Christ? What thoughts do we have toward ourselves? Our abilities Our inadequacies Our lack?We need to bring our thoughts under the judgement of the word. Hebrews 4:12-13For the word of God is alive and active. Romans 8:6-8For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, 4 since the weapons of our warfare† are not of the flesh, but are powerful† through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments 5 and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge† of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.Stronghold : a fortified, military stronghold; a strong-walled fortressJoshua 6:20So the troops shouted, and the trumpets sounded. When they heard the blast of the trumpet, the troops gave a great shout, and the wall collapsed.† The troops advanced into the city, each man straight ahead, and they captured the city. Seeing one another as God sees us, and meeting with Jesus in others, not just "another person". Philippians 2:1-8 (NLT) Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians%202
