After Manchester United became the first team in 8 months to beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, Rio is joined by Ste Howson and Joel Beya to analyse that victory along with Arsenal's draw at 10-man Chelsea. There's detailed analysis on the personnel utilised in the wing-back roles after Ruben Amorim admitted that two of those players are currently playing “far from their best”.After Bruno Fernandes overtook Paul Scholes on the list of record Premier League assists, Rio admits that nobody could be expected to replace the output of the captain - even when he's playing in a deeper role.Rio also compares the challenge for Joshua Zirkzee to the one that former team mate Diego Forlan faced and questioned whether the Dutchman has the self-belief to command a regular starting spot.Zirkzee may be given more opportunities during AFCON where Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbuemo will miss up to seven league matches during the most congested part of the season - something that worries Ste and Rio. They believe the depth of Amorim's squad is not sufficient without further reinforcements.Joel is happy with Arsenal's point at Stamford Bridge and Rio compares the mentality of the Arsenal players to that of his title-winning squads in terms of playing rivals away from home. Patrick and Neel break down a wild weekend. Spurs fall apart at Arsenal, Thomas Frank's plan makes no sense, and Ezra gives Arsenal a completely different look in attack. Then they move to Newcastle vs Man City where both teams create a ton but in totally different ways. Newcastle go brave in midfield, City lean even harder on Haaland, and the guys ask what happens if he isn't there. Liverpool's slide continues with more tactical confusion and another bad run of substitutions. They talk about what's actually wrong and whether Slot can fix it. They wrap with the Milan derby and where Milan, Inter, and the rest of Serie A really stand. Enjoy! The most dangerous thing about growing up is forgetting how to play. From childhood Lego sessions to experimenting with piano, creativity has always been about freedom, not perfection. Yet today's music creation process is so complex that most ideas die before they're born, buried under software, costs and gatekeepers. While some turn to “cheat code” AI tools that promise instant songs they sacrifice true creativity in the process. Real artistry isn't about shortcuts; it's about play, building, breaking, and rebuilding with imagination.
China is breaking the rules of development. Typically, as countries progress up the value chain, they transition from agriculture to light industry, then to heavy industry, and ultimately to high-technology and services. And as they move up the value chain, this creates opportunities for less-developed countries to advance. But China's not doing that. Chinese manufacturers are holding on to their immense productive capacity, enabling them to produce both low-tech sneakers and high-tech semiconductors at a scale and cost that are unrivaled. Now, as developing countries around the world seek to move up the value chain, they will have to compete head-on against the dreaded "China Price." James Kynge, who covered China for nearly 30 years at the Financial Times, delved into this challenge in a fascinating audiobook that came out earlier this year, "Global Tech Wars: China's Race to Dominate." James joins Eric from London to explain how China's ability to produce a $6 toaster exemplifies the country's enormous manufacturing advantage that will be very difficult, if not impossible, for other countries to match. CHAPTERS: • Introduction – The $6 toaster and the global value chain crisis • The Flying Geese Model – How automation broke development's old path • China's Dual Reality – A continent-sized economy of billionaires and low-wage labor • Industrial Clusters – The unbeatable advantage of Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta • The Global South's Dilemma – Competing against the "China price" • Automation and Inequality – Why manufacturing isn't moving offshore • The $1 Trillion Surplus – Trade backlash and global tensions • Searching for Solutions – Industrial policy and self-strengthening in the Global South • Winners and Losers – Cheap exports, consumer gains, and producer pain • Political Risk – Xi Jinping's lesson from Western deindustrialization • The Humanoid Robot Moment – From $6 toasters to $6,000 robots • China's Auto Revolution – BYD and the new wave of affordable EVs • The Double-Edged Future – Opportunity and disruption in China's rise SHOW NOTES: Financial Times: Global Tech Wars: China's Race to Dominate by James Kynge Financial Times: China's plan to reshape world trade on its own terms by James Kynge and Keith Fray JOIN THE DISCUSSION: X: @ChinaGSProject | @eric_olander | @christiangeraud Facebook: www.facebook.com/ChinaAfricaProject YouTube: www.youtube.com/@ChinaGlobalSouth Now on Bluesky! Summary Judgment: The ins, outs, and in-betweens of Personal Injury Law
In this episode, Josh and Aaron tackle the dark and often misunderstood topic of barratry — the illegal solicitation of clients that still plagues the legal world today. They unpack how this unethical practice harms victims, erodes trust in the profession, and why raising awareness is key to protecting consumers and restoring integrity in personal injury law. FVF Law is a well-credentialed, overwhelmingly 5-star reviewed personal injury law firm in Austin, TX. FVF strives to be the educational resource for the injured, available to guide those with questions about what comes next. It is FVF's mission to ensure clients are prioritized and informed throughout the injury claim process, and to secure the best possible outcome. Josh Fogelman and Aaron Von Flatern founded FVF Law to offer a different kind of injury law firm, and a dignified alternative in the marketplace. They hope to show injured Texans that consulting a lawyer after an injury is a natural, and responsible thing to do.

In today’s deep dive, the Mississippi River is running low south of Illinois. And that means shipping products like fertilizer will cost more.
In this episode of The Winston Marshall Show, I sit down with Haviv Rettig Gur, one of Israel's leading political analysts, for an in-depth breakdown of the Trump peace plan, the end of the Gaza war, and the chaotic aftermath now unfolding inside Gaza. With the hostages returned and the ceasefire in place, Haviv explains how Hamas has re-emerged from the tunnels, executing its rivals and reasserting control — while Israel withdraws under intense global scrutiny. He reveals why the Trump administration's 20-point plan to rebuild Gaza faces collapse, how Qatar and Turkey's support for Hamas is undermining regional stability, and why the international “stabilisation force” may become a new UNIFIL — protecting terrorists rather than disarming them.We discuss Trump's strategic play — leveraging Qatari fear, Turkish ambition, and American power to end the war — and whether this marks a genuine peace or simply the start of another chapter in a long regional conflict. All this — the Trump deal, Hamas's resurgence, Qatar's influence, American troops in Gaza, and the uncertain new world order emerging in the Middle East.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To see more exclusive content and interviews consider subscribing to my substack here: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Substack: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/X: https://twitter.com/mrwinmarshallInsta: https://www.instagram.com/winstonmarshallLinktree: https://linktr.ee/winstonmarshall----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapters 00:00 Introduction01:45 The End of the Gaza War: What's Next?05:22 The Trump Peace Deal Explained09:30 What Happens to Gaza Now?14:10 Why Israel Withdrew — and What It Means18:55 The Return of Hamas: Tunnel Resurgence & Executions24:40 Qatar, Turkey & Hamas's Continued Influence30:20 The Role of the U.S. in Gaza's Future34:55 Can Gaza Be Rebuilt Without Hamas?40:40 What the Trump Administration Got Right and Wrong46:10 Will an International Force Stabilise Gaza or Fail Like UNIFIL?51:05 Media Narratives, Lawfare & Global Pressure on Israel58:30 Haviv's Warning on Iran and the Next War1:04:50 The Psychological Aftermath of October 7th1:10:35 Israel's Strategic Dilemma: Peace or Perpetual Conflict?1:16:40 Final Thoughts & The Path Forward Hosted on Acast. It's Witness Wednesday! In today's episode, Todd Friel engages in meaningful conversations with several university students. First up is Cole, a pro-lifer who isn't a believer. Later, Todd speaks with agnostic Moira, discussing God's existence and Moira's personal experiences with Christianity. Todd continually points the students back to the ultimate hope that we are called to share - the gospel of grace through God's Son. Segment 1 • Cole intrigued by Christianity but skeptical of its claims. • Todd shifts focus from crusades to Cole's personal sin problem. • God's holiness vs. human sinfulness is the real crisis. Segment 2 – Cole (part 2) • Cole wrestles with the Trinity and Jesus' dual nature. • Todd explains how only God-in-flesh could be a worthy substitute. • Salvation is central—Father sends, Son saves, Spirit convicts. Segment 3 • Agnostic Moira shares what she knows about Easter. • She only believes what she can see, and doesn't personally see the importance of faith. • Moira has been put off from Christianity by bad personal experiences. Segment 4 • Todd holds Moira to account against God's commandments. • She admits guilt when confronted with God's commands. • Todd explains Easter: Jesus' death and resurrection solves our sin and shame problem. ___ Thanks for listening!
