Tune in here to this Tuesday edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen! Breaking Brett Jensen kicks off the show by discussing the topics in Mark Garrison’s news report on WBT this morning. The report, which Jensen calls “the best he’s heard,” covered the major issues relevant to Charlotte. Jensen notes that one story stood out - a $3.4 million investment by the Charlotte City Council for an advertising campaign encouraging residents to ride the light rail. Council members chose to focus on this rather than adding more security on the rail system. Regarding the light-rail advertising campaign, Jensen says he believes the concept of “perception” is what motivated the City Council to invest in it. He says “perception,” rather than reality, has frequently guided council decisions. He also says the campaign is misleading to the public because it distracts from significant safety issues that continue to plague the light-rail system. Later, Jensen breaks down numbers released by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department from the first weekend of Operation Safe Season. The figures detail traffic citations, arrests and guns seized. Listen here for all of this and more on Breaking With Brett Jensen. Tune in here to this Tuesday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by talking about monopoly power in law enforcement and the growing sense of vulnerability felt by ordinary families. He contrasts this with everyday consumer choices, noting that while people can choose between airlines or colleges, they have no such options when it comes to public safety. Brett emphasizes that police agencies function as unavoidable monopolies—citizens cannot “shop around” for better service or accountability. While affirming his strong support for individual officers, he argues that the system itself breeds complacency, corruption, and a lack of meaningful reform. He highlights how communities are left exposed when official protection fails, pointing to high-profile local incidents and systemic delays in response. Bo Thompson from Good Morning BT is also here for this Tuesday's episode of Crossing the Streams. Brett and Bo talk about WBT’s historic move to 107.9 and the huge success of Hancock’s Bikes for Kids, which brought in more than 800 donated bicycles for families across the community. They reflect on how the expanded signal will strengthen the station’s reach and deepen its connection with listeners, highlighting the unique camaraderie of the WBT team during big events like the annual bike drive. The conversation then shifts to national politics, as Brett and Bo discuss the president’s upcoming rally in Pennsylvania and whether recent crime concerns in Charlotte—including the latest light-rail stabbing—might become part of his message. Bo also shares what he and Beth have coming up tomorrow on Good Morning BT, including cybersecurity insights from Teresa Payton, analysis of the ongoing Netflix-Paramount drama, and a check-in with Jim Zoki ahead of the Panthers’ return to the field. Tune in here to this Monday edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen! Breaking Brett Jensen discusses the most recent stabbing on Charlotte’s light rail, which occurred last Friday. The suspect, Oscar Solarzano, is an illegal alien who had been deported from the United States twice. He had also been suspended from riding the light rail, and there are indications he did not have a ticket at the time of the stabbing. Later, Jensen speaks with North Carolina Rep. Mark Harris about the incident. Harris, who calls the attack “unbelievable,” says it highlights the need for elected officials who support law enforcement and Border Patrol. He also points to what he describes as a clear problem in Charlotte - a lack of public support for officers trying to do their jobs. According to Harris, this issue has been evident since “Operation Charlotte’s Web,” which took place last month. Jensen closes the show by discussing an important change coming to WBT later this week. The station will transition to the powerful 100,000-watt 107.9 FM frequency beginning Thursday morning. Tune in here to this Tuesday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by diving into the day’s election coverage, emphasizing the importance of civic participation and encouraging listeners to get out and vote. He notes that while media outlets—including television, radio, and print—don’t yet know the results until polls close, the real story of the day is the voters themselves. Brett frames the election as a moment for reflection on leadership and accountability, blending his characteristic humor with pointed political critique. He discusses local and national races, predicting that Mondami will likely win in New York, though he makes it clear he strongly disapproves of Mondami’s policies and character. Brett portrays the race as symbolic of broader ideological divides in America, warning that electing candidates who, in his view, don’t prioritize American values could have lasting consequences. As he transitions between topics, he teases post-election coverage by Bo, Beth, and the rest of the WBT team, promising in-depth analysis of results and their implications later that evening. Beth Troutman from Good Morning BT is also here for this Tuesday’s episode of Crossing the Streams. Brett and Beth talk about the night’s big election coverage and the key races to watch both locally and nationally. Beth highlights several contests, including the governor’s races in Virginia and New Jersey, which could signal trends leading into the 2026 midterms, and the Charlotte 1-cent sales tax referendum. She also points out the competitive Concord mayoral race between two Republicans, Lori Clay and Steve Morris, noting how it reflects divisions within the party. Beth shares that she and Bo Thompson will anchor WBT’s live election coverage from 7 to 10 p.m., following their morning show duties. She gives listeners a behind-the-scenes look at her election-night setup — constantly refreshing the Board of Elections site and monitoring multiple outlets like NBC, CNN, Fox, and Reuters to track results and analysis as they come in on Good Morning BT! Tune in here to this Tuesday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by talking about the frustrating traffic on I-77 North and the reckless driving he witnessed on his commute from the South Carolina border. Venting his irritation, he criticizes truck drivers and motorists alike for speeding and causing dangerous conditions in the rain, which nearly made him late for his show. Brett humorously proposes building a 45-foot divider between northbound and southbound lanes to stop “rubbernecking” during accidents. Transitioning from local frustrations to national issues, he shifts focus to politics, calling for principled leadership, fiscal discipline, and structural reform in Washington. He condemns what he describes as radical lawmakers and emphasizes the need for Americans to reclaim power from “miniature tyrants.” Bo Thompson from Good Morning BT is also here for this Tuesday’s episode of Crossing the Streams. Brett and Bo talk about the thrilling Dodgers postseason run and the marathon Game 3 that kept fans up late across the country. The two share laughs about texting during the game, the “sports equinox” that saw all five major U.S. leagues in action, and how baseball fans are running on fumes but loving every minute of it. Gold stocks opened sharply lower but mostly held the line for the remainder of the day. No doubt gold will be watched closely from here to see if the correction continues. One item of interest today for lithium is PLS CEO Dale Henderson telling Bloomberg that power storage is helping to offset lower EV sales in the US. He said the energy is growing “leaps and bounds”. Tune in here to this Wednesday edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by discussing the influences and pressures of the modern era, where individuals in positions of power advocate for radical change, all in the name of equity. Do not allow these power-hungry hucksters to shake your beliefs or the founding principles of our great nation. We're joined by TJ Ritchie from the newly added TJ Ritchie Show from 7 to 9 right here on 99.3 WBT. Brett and TJ discuss some things they always like to cover on their respective shows, and what TJ has coming up on his show tonight. We're also joined by Breaking Brett Jensen to dive into the latest updates on all of the drama unfolding with the Charlotte City Council, from the indicted council member to hundreds of thousands paid out to Police Chief Johnny Jennings. We're joined by Coach Matt Doherty from Doherty Coaching to talk about President Trump's battle with Harvard regarding their support, or at least indifference, to groups of pro-Hamas protestors shaming Jewish students and even going so far as to assault them in some cases. It is also important to note that Harvard brings in Chinese students in large numbers, some of whom likely have ulterior motives. China isn't a free country like America; students from China can only come to America for college if they receive the go-ahead from the CCP. Listen here for all of this and more on The Brett Winterble Show! For more from Brett Winterble check out his YouTube channel. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
