Tune in here to this Monday edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen! Breaking Brett Jensen kicks off the show from the East/West Boulevard Light Rail station to talk about the vigil to honor the life of Iryna Zarutska. Jensen emphasizes that this memorial is not a political event, instead it's a way for the community to honor Zarutska's life and the legacy she ultimately leaves behind. He goes on to paint a visual of what the scene at the East/West Boulevard station, just outside of the tracks, looks like. He emphasizes the freshly-laid flowers given by the community to honor Zarutska, including tons of daisies and sunflowers. In addition to flowers, there were pictures and paintings of Zarutska, as well as hand-written notes that accompanied them. Jensen reads some of the notes, most of which state phrases such as "angel", "you are not alone" and "you will remain in our hearts forever". Jensen then shares an interview he was able to have with North Carolina congressman Mark Harris. This conversation was important, since the House Judiciary Committee will be in Charlotte to talk about recent crime and violence that has been occurring in the city. In the interview, Harris acknowledges that the recent violent situations in Charlotte have caught the attention of The White House, and that national attention is what's bring the House Judiciary Committee to the Queen City. He believes that the Committee's purpose will be to ask questions of Charlotte leaders in order to prevent situations, like the one with Iryna Zarutska, from happening in the future. Listen here for all of this and more on Breaking With Brett Jensen. „Oskarżony odebrał naszej rodzinie piękną i mądrą kobietę. Jesteśmy zdruzgotani” – mówił jej wujek w sądzie. Burmistrz Charlotte, Vi Lyles, apelowała o szacunek i nieudostępnianie nagrania z ataku, podkreślając, że tragedia skłania do refleksji nad bezpieczeństwem w mieście.Republikanie oskarżyli władze Charlotte o łagodność wobec przestępców. Sekretarz transportu Sean Duffy pisał o „brzydkiej prawdzie” przestępczości w wielkich miastach, a kongresman Mark Harris stwierdził, że przemoc w Charlotte to „mikrokosmos ogólnokrajowej epidemii”. Today on Too Opinionated, we sit back down with author Mark Harris to get an update about his book, House of the Holy. A true story that will shock you. This is an unprecedented story of one man's survival in his struggle against the power of the Federal Government, State Government, the extreme right, the religious right, the mob, and the cult of Freemasonry. It is extremely well documented and focuses on unholy alliances and the strangle hold religion and money have on politics and law enforcement. It exposes a legacy of hate and corruption in the religious right and Freemasonry. The colorful cast of often cartoonish characters is compelling and will shock and entertain the reader. It includes a federal convict engaged in a life of crime while local state and federal authorities run around in circles cleaning up after him, George W. Bush's former attorney, the son of a mobster who was a known associate of Santo Trafficante Jr., the son of the racist doctor who chose the first astronauts, former Governor Rick Scott, the US Acting Assistant Attorney General and future Acting Attorney General, and parade of religious leaders willing to commit crimes to protect a monster, and many others.
