POPULARITY
In this exciting episode of the Wise_N_Nerdy podcast, Charles and Joe are joined by a special guest, MordantRiki of the Tortuga Twins. The episode kicks off with their popular "Question of the Week," asking, "How do you find time for yourself?" What follows is a thoughtful and inspiring discussion about self-care and the importance of carving out personal time in a busy schedule. Next, the dice roll brings us to the "Council of Dads" segment, where listener CaseyJay asks for advice on parenting with autism. The hosts delve into this sensitive topic with heartfelt insights, providing valuable and practical advice for parents navigating this journey. In the "What Are You Nerding Out About?" segment, Joe shares his enthusiasm for the anime Wind Breaker, a story about delinquents protecting their neighborhood. MordantRiki brings the excitement with his love for the book Dungeon Crawler Carl and shares his anticipation for the D&D 2024 release. Meanwhile, Charles is geeking out over The Rising of the Shield Hero, which Joe agrees is an incredible anime worth watching. Laughter fills the air as the team shares some side-splitting dad jokes, leading to another fan-favorite segment: "How Do I...?" This time, the discussion centers on overcoming stage fright. MordantRiki offers sage advice drawn from his experiences performing with the Tortuga Twins. Finally, the episode wraps up with the "Daddy Tell Me a Story" segment, where the hosts talk about their strategies for buying a car. The most critical tip? Make sure you know your budget before hitting the dealerships! As always, this episode is full of heart, humor, and advice, reminding listeners to "Find your FAMdom" and embrace both nerdy interests and fatherhood. This week, we talk with frequent guest Ronn Bauman about a recent exchange he had with a (former) fan of the Tortuga Twins. While we don’t want to get too deeply into it, the (former) fan had an issue with a portion of the show in which they supported transgender rights. We talk about what […]

I'm delighted to be joined by Ronn Bauman (Scaramouche of the Tortuga Twins) to talk about the 1964 horror film The Last Man on Earth starring Vincent Price. Based on the novel I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, this is one of several film versions and we'll actually end up talking about all of them during this episode. For what I can only assume are US copyright reasons, the entire Price movie is available in a lovely transfer streaming directly off of Wikipedia. And if you want to throw some pocket change our way, you can watch these on Amazon (or purchase the book) via affiliate links: The original novel Last Man on Earth (prime)
