LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/robinkent 2. Email: robin@rsportz.com 3. Twitter: robinkentsf SHOW NOTES: Robin didn't go to college He tried a lot of things but at the end he got into advertising. He joined and was part of one of the fastest growing advertising agencies in the world. His second agency that he worked for, made him work for Adidas! He moved to Paris to work for his 3rd agency. It was a great experience for someone in his late 20s He went on to work for the world's brightest and greatest advertising agencies that worked with intel, Coca Cola, Sony etc. He was in the twin towers buildings during 9/11!!! Robin got frustrated with the advertising business and joined the start up game His first start up experience was working with a friend on a music company allowing you to download legal music online. Kinda like an early Spotify Sometimes you can be too soon in a market. The record labels didn't want to allow Robin and company to take a piece of the pie After this flop, he started rebel digital. A consulting company for music start ups. They had meetings with Spotify in the early days. Great engineers, but uneducated on music The recession of 2009 forced them to close the business Then he started an advertising agency that is still living ‘till today. Surround yourself with great futuristic minds Recognise global opportunities Covid almost crushed their business, but they pivoted into virtual sports and had their highest growth year! There are no Black people in leadership roles at Britain’s top companies. That's according to a study by recruitment and diversity consultancy, Green Park. The research highlights the failure by some of the UK’s biggest firms to prioritise diversity. The Green Park study has found – that for the first time in six years – there are no Black CEOs, CFOs or chairpersons in companies listed on the FTSE 100. Just 10 of the nearly 300 leaders who occupy the top three roles at firms on the index are from ethnic minority backgrounds. #FTSE100 #BlackRepresentation #Diversity

The Uk's top climate crisis expert, Nigel Topping (pictured) has argued that coal is "dead in the water", but Australia's Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, and his LNP cohort are not listening and are so ideologically blind that they can't even see the writing on the wall, let alone read it. Australia's Wilderness Society at its recent 'Nature Chat' talked about the devastation of last summer's bushfires and Gemma Plesman talked about growing up in Nymbodia in New South Wales and how the fires destroyed her family home; fires easily attributable to the climate crisis. Who started the first DJ Bar in the UK? Will Flisk did. Will, together with his business partners, set up Bar Vinyl which was voted one of the UK's Top 10 Best Bars in the 90's. Located in Camden, Bar Vinyl had quite the reputation and Will openly admits to not remembering most of his time there. That said with guests like Boy George and Fat Boy Slim together with the MTV crews casually popping in to record music videos and interviews from his bar, he has quite a few funny stories to tell. Come with me as we chat about the launch of Bar Vinyl; how he hosted a tent for 2000 people in Glastonbury whilst sleeping next to Rob Da Bank; his time in Greece where he was frequently called Malakas as a term of endearment; his up and coming new Vinyl releases and how world famous artist Damien Hirst drew him to Ilfracombe in North Devon which has now resulted in him opening his very own studio called Gates Of the West Studio to help new and emerging local talent.Oh and we also cover a bit about me and how my Box of Frogs podcast got its name which is as mad as it sounds! To hear more of Will’s music find him on Soundcloud: @WillFliskWill’s North Devon Studio is at www.gatesofthewest.co.ukA bit about me …. Intu Properties, which has a R200bn portfolio that includes 9 of the UK's Top 20 shopping centres, has been an unjustified victim of London's post-Brexit market slump. Especially in South African Rands where a combination of the UK property stock sell-off and a weaker Pound saw the FTSE 100 and JSE Top 40 stock lose 17% in the past week. Biznews.com's Alec Hogg paid a visit to the Intu offices in London to quiz long-time CEO David Fischel on the actual impact on the business of the UK's historic exit from the European Union. What emerges is an opportunity for long-term investors to look past the noise. Intu is in rude health and its focus in non-London regional centres means it is likely to be unaffected or, indeed supported, in the wake of Brexit. Shares in the company founded in 1980 by Donald Gordon, the founder of Liberty Life, are listed on both the London and Johannesburg stock exchanges, with around 30% of the company still owned by South Africans.
