Werkt je onderneming in tijden van oorlogsdreiging beter samen met de wapenindustrie of juist niet? Ik vertel hoe ik stopte met keuzes op basis van extern bewijs en begon te bouwen vanuit inner authority. Niet harder rennen. Wel helderder kiezen.Je hoort hoe ik ratio, intuïtie en impuls opnieuw rangschikte. Ratio voor analyse en structuur. Intuïtie als richting. Impuls als ruis. Zodra deze ordening stond, werd moeiteloosheid weer mogelijk omdat keuzes klopten.Ik deel de oefening die voor mij alles kantelde. Schrijf drie uitgestelde beslissingen op. Noteer per beslissing wat je ratio zegt. Wat je intuïtie zegt als je even stil wordt. Wat je impuls roept wanneer je stress voelt. Streep de ruis weg. Wat overblijft is vaak één eenvoudige zin. Dit klopt. Of dit klopt niet.Dit is waarom mijn programma geen losse modules is. Je traint je inner authority elke week. Je fundament wordt veilig. Je drijveren helder. Je routines gaan voor je werken. Je doorbreekt overtuigingen. Je zet je genius midden in de kamer. Je verkoopt met integriteit. Je verdient wat je waard bent. Je kiest het juiste team. Je borgt wat je bouwt. Klein vandaag. Groot over honderd dagen.

S&P Futures are trending higher this morning as markets await comments from Fed Chair Jerome Powell. Powell is schedule to give the keynote speech at the Jackson Hole event this morning. He is expected to cautious on comments related to a Sept rate cut and indicate that the Fed remains data dependent. Talks on a proposed end to hostilities in the Russia Ukraine conflict appear to be stalling. ROST & ZM are higher after earnings releases, INTU, WDAY & BJ are lower. Next week earnings announcements are expected from PDD, NVDA DELL and others.

Mailchimp proved to be a drag on Intuit's (INTU) earnings, with guidance also coming in under Wall Street's estimates. Diane King Hall notes that it's still an improvement from last year when the company showed negative EPS. Zoom Communications (ZM) muscled a strong rally after showing dedication to A.I. growth and impressive guidance. In retail, Ross Stores (ROST) gained after beating earnings and bolstering strong guidance. President Trump called for the resignation of Fed Gov Lisa Cook due to questions over her personal finances. The move is seen as an attempt to stack the Fed with members who are inclined to lower short term rates. Lowering short-term interest rates in an environment of rising inflation tends to cause long-term rates to move higher, which can negatively impact the markets. The Fed's Jackson Hole event starts today; this event is expected to have significant policy implications for inflation, growth, and central bank strategy going forward.  NDSN & YMM are higher after earnings releases, WMT & CODY are lower. First Time Homebuyers Hit a Record Low With the high cost of housing and higher interest rates, people trying to get their first home dropped to a record low around 23% in 2024. The average age of the first-time homebuyer has increased 10 years over the historical average to 38 years old. The median income is now $97,000 and the first-time home buyers are coming up with an average down payment of 9% of the value of the home. Many of these young buyers are using FHA loans, which require a very small down payment and according to research roughly 30% of all FHA mortgages have a debt service ratio of over 50%. This means more than half of these buyers' incomes is going toward servicing debt. This could be a hard pill to swallow for young buyers with not much money left over for luxuries like vacations and new cars. However, if when they buy the home, they understand that if they really tighten their belts for the next three to four years, they will probably be fine. New home builders are doing what they can to try and get rid of the largest inventory of unsold homes on their lots since 2009. The median price of a new home is currently less than one percent higher than the median price of existing properties, which historically has seen a 17% premium. The home builders are using profits from their homes to buy down mortgages. Even though the 30-year mortgage was recently around 6.8%, home builders can buy these mortgages down which led buyers of new homes to a rate around 5%. Buying down these rates has cost home builders about 8% of the purchase price of the home. This reduces their profits but better than the alternative of sitting on unsold homes with a carrying cost for the builder. I don't see this situation getting better anytime soon because I'm not looking for a large decrease in mortgage rates and incomes over the next year will probably increase somewhere around 3 to 4%. We continue to believe the rapid increase in the price of homes over the last few years will not last and it will now take some time to get back to normal market. Maybe we will see a better real estate market in 2027 or 2028.   Is Bitcoin coming to your 401k? I have been concerned with bitcoin and crypto as a whole for several years for many reasons including fraud, illicit activity, and the fact that there is really no way to derive an intrinsic value for it since there is no earnings, cash flow, or anything really backing the asset class. I was disappointed to see the current Labor Department removed language that cautioned employers to exercise “extreme care” before making crypto and related investments available to their workers. They cited “serious concerns” about the prudence of exposing investors' retirement savings to crypto given “significant risks of fraud, theft, and loss.” While this isn't necessarily a full-on endorsement for placing crypto in 401k plans, it definitely seems like the administration is continuing on its path to try and normalize crypto as an established asset class. Even with this change in language I would be surprised to see a huge surge in cryptocurrencies within 401k plans. Ultimately, ERISA bestows a fiduciary duty on employers and company officials overseeing 401k investments and that means legally employers must put the best interests of 401(k) investors first and act prudently when choosing which investments to offer (or not offer). Given the extreme volatility within crypto I believe it would be a huge risk for these companies to offer it as it could open them up to lawsuits if there are major declines. We'll have to see what other changes are made as time progresses, but I don't believe crypto has any place within a 401k plan at this time.   Inflation report shows continued progress The personal consumption expenditures price index, which is also known as PCE and is the Federal Reserve's key inflation measure, showed an annual increase of just 2.1%. Core PCE, which excludes food and energy, showed a gain of 2.5%. Both results were 0.1% below their respective estimates. Overall, inflation has continued to cool and is now quite close to the Fed's 2% target. The question that remains is how will tariffs ultimately impact inflation? An economist from Pantheon Macroeconomics said that he believed core PCE would peak later this year between 3.0% and 3.5%, if the current mix of tariffs remained in place. I would say it is difficult to forecast the tariff impact since we don't know what will ultimately be passed on to the end consumer. It will definitely be interesting to see what numbers look like in the coming months, but ultimately, I believe most of the concerns around inflation are overblown and even if the rate for PCE is around 3%, I don't see that as being problematic for the economy.     Financial Planning: What it Means to be an Accredited Investor An accredited investor is someone who meets specific income or net worth thresholds—such as earning over $200,000 annually ($300,000 with a spouse) or having over $1 million in net worth excluding their home—and is allowed to invest in private securities offerings not registered with the SEC. These investments, which include private REITS, private equity, hedge funds, and startups, often promise high returns but carry significant risks such as illiquidity, limited transparency, and the potential for total loss. While many of these offerings are only available through fiduciary advisors—who are legally obligated to act in their clients' best interest—investors must still exercise caution. Fiduciary duty applies only in certain contexts (such as investment advice) and may not extend to related areas like insurance or commission-based products. Additionally, what qualifies as “acting in your best interest” is often subjective and open to interpretation. Working with a fiduciary does not guarantee protection, and investors should remain vigilant, ask questions, and independently evaluate any recommendation. Also, private investments aren't necessary better than public investments, so just because you qualify as an accredited investor doesn't mean you should be investing in private securities.   Companies Discussed: Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. S&P Futures are trading slightly lower this morning, Treasury yields have eased modestly. Markets action is expected to be limited today, however there are a number of events todays. The U.S. & Iran will be having talks over nuclear enrichment. China and the U.S. are scheduled to hold trade talks today. President Trump is expected to sign an Executive Order today aimed at revitalizing the U.S. nuclear energy sector this afternoon. On the economic front there is a report on News Home Sales due out. Fed Gov Lisa Cook will be speaking today, and Fed Chairmen Jerome Powell is scheduled to speak on Sunday. On the earning front tech earning continue to be posive with INTU and ADSK posting beats - Retailors continue to pull guidance as the tariff situation clouds its outlook. Markets are closed on Monday, PDD will release earnings on Tuesday morning.

S&P Futures are trading slightly higher this morning after Wednesday's sell-off, which was triggered by a spike in Treasury yields amid concerns about a significant expansion in U.S. fiscal debt. The House is expected to pass Trump's tax and spending bill this morning; the vote is currently underway. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s “Make America Health Again” report is expected to be released today. Health insurer stocks are under pressure this morning following the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' announcement of expanded audits of Medicare Advantage plans. AT&T has agreed to acquire substantially all of Lumen Technologies' mass markets fiber business for $5.75 billion in cash.  Reports on Jobless Claims and the flash PMI report for May will be released today. On the earning front SNOW, URBN, ZM & AAP are higher after their releases. After the bell today earnings reports from INTU, WDAY, ADSK, CPRT, ROST and DECK are set to report.

S&P Futures are positive this morning on the prospect of additional trade deal to be announced. President wraps up his Middle East tour today. He has indicated that the UAE will invest in US produced semiconductors, he also indicated that the U.S. will set tariff rates for its trading partners within the next few weeks. Housing data is in focus this morning along with the U of M Consumer Sentiment report. WMT has indicated that it will start to raise prices due to the additional cost associated with the Trump tariffs. Charter Communications and Cox Communications are set to merge. Boeing gets another plane order from Etihad Airways for 28 planes valued at $14.5B. AMAT, TTWO & CAVA are lower after earnings announcements. Next week HD, PANW, TGT, TJX, LOW, SNOW, DECK, ADSK & INTU are scheduled to report.

S&P Futures are displaying strong gains this morning as the market react to earnings reports and a lessening of geopolitical tensions. On the earnings front AXON, INTU & WDAY all delivered positive results last night. BUD & LOW are higher this morning after earnings. Geopolitical tensions are falling as the U.S. and Ukraine will soon be signing a mineral rights for security guarantees agreement. The House passed a blueprint for its reconciliation bill overnight. President Trump is scheduled to hold a cabinet meeting today; the State of the Union speech is next week. MMM is holding an analyst meeting today. After the bell today the focus will be on earnings with NVDA, CRM & SNOW all set to report.

S&P Futures are weakening this morning on cautious sentiment. President Trump indicated that he is moving forward with tariffs on Mexico & Canada. Later this morning the Conference Board will be updating the market on Consumer Sentiment. Friday U of M data indicated eroding sentiment due to trade policy. HD is falling due to forward guidance in its earnings release. TSLA is lower as EU January sales data came in weak. Tech stocks are in the red on talk of additional export restrictions to China. After the bell today, earnings are due out from INTU, WDAY, KEYS, CAVA & CART.  Progress was made for a budget deal; however the reconciliation bill remains stalled.

As the SPX losing streak extends to 4 days, Kevin Green says "getting off the lows of the session is a win" and thinks a counter-trend rally could be in the cards tomorrow. Caroline Woods joins Kevin and Oliver Renick for reaction to Workday (WDAY) earnings following a better-than-expected report and an upbeat outlook. Intuit (INTU) follows suit with an upside move after topping estimates. Meanwhile, Instacart (CART) falls as investors weigh its 4Q earnings figures. S&P Futures are moving higher in a rebound from Friday's sell-off. The weakness on Friday was due to growth concerns as policy changes in Washington created weakness in sentiment data. President Trump is meeting with the French President today at 12:20 pm and a press conference is scheduled for 2:00 pm. House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordon is demanding clarification on the enforcement of the E.U.'s Digital Services Act which appear to focus on U.S. companies. Key earnings reports due out this week include HD, INTU, NVDA, SNOW, CRM DELL & HPQ.  Berkshire Hathaway's fourth-quarter operating earnings rose 71% on strength in the company's large insurance operations. DPZ is moving lower this morning after its earnings release this morning.

S&P Futures are flat to high on limited volatility this morning. Chinese retailers are displaying strong gains on BABA eps results and AI strategy. SFM, DBX & PODD are all lower after earnings releases overnight. Next week earnings reports are due out from DPZ, HD, INTU, LOW, TJX, SNOW, CRM & NVDA. The Senate passed a budget blueprint overnight, the bill still faces a roadblock in Congress. Troubled Japanese car manufacturer Nissan is looking for a new partner, TSLA is being floated as a possibility. Flash PMI data is due out after the opening bell today. In the EU, Germany is schedule to hold elections on Sunday.

S&P Futures are flat to higher this morning as markets continue to digest the earnings report from Nivida. Despite beating lofty expectations NVDA is trading lower due to concerns about its gross margins. Major brokers remain bullish and continue to raise price their price targets. Economic data is on watch with two key reports and a host of Fed Speak. Russian tensions remain elevated as hostilities continue. After the bell today watch for earnings reports from GAP, NTAP, ROST and INTU. In Europe, stocks opened down but are turning positive. Oil prices are showing gains due to geopolitical issues.

Another round of earnings highlight the technology, finance, and retail sectors. Oliver Renick, Kevin Green and Diane King Hall break down the reports minutes after they drop.
