Men can't be the heroes in our story if they are traumatised and hen pecked.   We could harp on about feminism and the patriarchy all day, but ultimately, if we want better menopause care, we must find ways of harmoniously working together, and that involves learning.  As women (cis and trans), understanding men and the wounds they carry, I believe, holds the key to healing a broken system, a system that currently doesn't help us through the menopause transition safely.  In this episode  I talk to one of the most dynamic people I know, Israeli born Yar'on Engler.   Yar'on communicates with brutal and brilliant honesty which, during the recording of this episode lifted me up so high, I want you to get a taste of that too.  In this episode we talk about:

Yaron Engler has been ‘coaching men to find their greatness’ since 2012. A coach and facilitator of men’s programs, he implements The CROP Method, a 4 step method to help men find their real values, gain focus, build confidence, detach from negative patterns and enjoy living again. Yaron is a professional drummer who has performed in front of over 500,000 people worldwide. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Berklee College of Music and an alumni of John Wineland's Embodiment Men's Leadership Program. Originally from Israel, Yaron currently resides in East Sussex, England.   Yaron joins me today to discuss the very timely theme of uncertainty and how he deals with the unknown when making choices in his life. He shares his journey from successful drummer in Tel Aviv to becoming a student of one of the best colleges of music in the world. He explains why he had to let go of his own idea of being a ‘horrible student’ that he had held on to since his high school days. He reveals his fear and lack of preparation to move to a new country and culture, but how the value of the opportunity outweighed all of his other concerns to produce an incredible life experience. Yaron also reveals how he copes with those overwhelming times of asking ‘where am I in my life?’ by focusing on the ‘why’ and directing his energy towards what he wants to create.   “Remove the judgment of good and bad.” - Yaron Engler   Today on Mastering Midlife:   Why you should focus your attention on what you can influence and let go of what you cannot How accepting your reality of the good and the bad can help you detach enough to deal with your current state of being How taking the judgment out of your situation will calm your approach to it How to be with ‘what is’ in a distracted society The challenges faced by successful men today Yaron’s CROP methodology to cleanse and clear out your life   Connect with Yaron Engler:   Yaron Englers Website Yaron Engler on LinkedIn Yaron Engler on Instagram Yaron Engler on Twitter   Are you a busy, overwhelmed business leader?   Through my work as an author and executive coach, I’ve discovered the 10 lies we all tell ourselves that keep us away from true productivity and creativity.    If constant firefighting is part of your daily grind, I have a free gift for you.  My “10 Uncomfortable Truths” about overwhelm, from “Only 10s, Confront Your To-Do List – Transform Your Life.”   Go to www.markjsilverman.com, click on the red banner and receive your 10 videos (one minute, one per day) as well as the first chapter of the book.    While you are there, check out some of the other ways I may be able to help you on the journey.     Mastering Midlife...Together!   Thanks for tuning into today’s episode of the Mastering Midlife Podcast: How to Thrive When the World Asks the Most of You with Mark Silverman. "Living life without regrets is what we should aim for" - that his words. This time I had Yaron Engler - a musician, mentor and speaker on my Podcast. He lives what he says. Whenever you meet Yaron, you feel this excitement, energy and never-ending eagerness to find the adventure of your life. He has been touring for many years all over the world with world-renowned choreographers Hofesh Shechter and Akram Khan. For him a deeper connection with someone was key, and he soon realised through his performances he created moments with the audience or students that discovered something deep and meaningful about themselves. Yaron chooses 9 Chapters in his Chapters Of My Life Podcast. Starting with Chapter 1 called „Simple“ where he tells us his childhood till age 10 and where he in early age find interest in using music to express himself. „Dark“ called the next Chapters 2, and yes you guessed it, it's his teenage years. Why dark? Well like with many artists in their young age, school just wasn't a place to grow their passion. Fighting through the teenage years, Yaron kept playing the drums during these times and turned at age 18 his passion into becoming a professional drummer which is all about Chapter 3. Chapter 4 called „Transition“ and it’s a more difficult part for him where he had to do mandatory military service which prevented him in the first place to regularly play the drums and follow his passion. Over time, he was able to find balance, playing music, serving military service and be closer with friends and family. After 3 years service, he played professionally in a band and won auditions. Finally a time he was able to entirely focus on his passion which he called „Doing What I Love“ in his Chapter 5. In his early 20s, he won a scholarship which brought him for the first time to U.S. Berkley where he was able to take the music study to a new level. Surrounded with well-known musicians he was finally able to do what he loves. It expanded his horizon but at the same time enabled him to discover the world. This life part is chapter 6 and it’s about “Expansion" as he names it as well. Chapter 7 „Learning“ is about moving to Spain, learning a new language and starting from scratch in a new country while keeping the one constant element in his musical career playing the drums. Travelling around the world enabled him to express himself through music in a very rare and unique way. „Exploration“ is Chapter 8 where he moved to the UK with his wife, started a family and started to make a shift in his career. He had this inner feeling to better reconnect to his heart, his passion was essential not just for himself, but also to mentor and coach others - all with the elements of music and drums. This is why he decided to focus his work on helping people reconnect to their hearts. His next Chapter in his life 9 called „Balance“ where he aims to find a way to combine family with his two kids and his career, where music and drums never will be replaced. His motto till today" LEAD WITH YOUR HEART AND LET YOUR HEAD FOLLOW, INSTEAD OF LEADING WITH THE HEAD LIVING A LIFE OF REGRET IN YOUR HEART. A truly inspiring and yes crazy but in a good sense musician and performer. Enjoy Never give up
