“You can be anything to a woman, but you can't be boring.”The hard truth? Attraction dies when a man trades his edge for comfort, his decisiveness for “whatever you want, babe,” and his self-respect for a never-ending to-do list. Women don't fall for a guy because he's nice; they fall for a guy who makes their heart race, who leads with confidence, and who—let's be honest—knows how to keep things interesting. Lose that, and you're not in a relationship—you're in a slow-moving hostage situation. Our guest breaks down why so many men go from exciting to invisible in their own relationships. He shares war stories, laugh-out-loud failures, and the hard-earned lessons that turned it all around. The secret sauce? Stop asking permission, start leading, and remember: attraction isn't a faucet you turn on when you're in the mood—it's a dynamic you maintain every single day.Paul Bauer is a men's coach, author, and podcast host who learned the rules of attraction the hard way—by breaking every single one of them. After years of trial, error, and some truly questionable dating decisions, he dedicated himself to understanding what makes relationships work. Now, he helps men reclaim their confidence, maintain their edge, and, most importantly, avoid becoming the human equivalent of background noise in their own love lives.Learn more & connect:Come on, Man podcast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@ComeOnManPodcastBooks: The Rational Male by Rollo Tomassi https://www.amazon.com/Rational-Male-Rollo-Tomassi/dp/1492777862 No More Mr. Nice Guy by Dr. Robert Glover https://www.amazon.com/No-More-Mr-Nice-Guy/dp/0762415339 The Player's Handbook by Rollo Tomassi https://www.amazon.com/Players-Handbook-Rational-Male/dp/1801440402 Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill https://www.amazon.com/Think-Grow-Rich-Landmark-Bestseller/dp/1585424331 Atomic Attraction by Christopher Canwell https://www.amazon.com/Atomic-Attraction-Psychology-Mastery-Dating/dp/1953616012 Married Man Sex Life Primer 2011 by Athol Kay https://www.amazon.com/Married-Man-Life-Primer-2011/dp/1460981731 The Essential Skills of a Masculine Presence Psychology Paradigm https://a.co/d/4D1djp0You're invited to come to a Sovereign Circle meeting to experience it for yourself. Braden Eads joins this episode of Relentlessly Resilient to discuss his “recovering” journey from pornography addiction. He highlights the role of connection, secrecy, and avoiding the “Mr. Nice Guy” syndrome of dishonestly in the continual recovery process. Along with our hosts, the conversation reframes the danger of pornography addiction into the broader implications of cultural, religious, and relationship context, as well as the power of intimate responsibility in overcoming the shame cycle.  Even though we live in challenging times, we can become ‘Relentlessly Resilient’ as we lean on and learn from one another’s experiences. Hosts Jennie Taylor and Michelle Scharf are no strangers to overcoming adversity; Michelle lost her husband to cancer, while Jennie’s husband, Major Brent Taylor, was killed in the service of our country. Their stories bond them together, and now listeners can join them weekly as they visit with others enduring challenges and who teach us how they are exercising resiliency, finding value in their grief, and purpose in moving forward.  Presented by Minky Couture, makers of the most luxurious and soft blankets with a mission to share comfort and love during the special moments of life. Dr. Robert Glover is a renowned therapist, speaker, coach and the author of the best-selling book „No More Mr. Nice Guy“ Over the last 4 decades, Dr. Glover has been shedding light on the phenomenon he describes as „Nice Guy Syndrome“ and has helped countless men across the globe in the realms of life, sex and relating. Now, you may ask yourself: „What's the problem with being a nice guy?“ Well, this is something that Dr. Glover and I explore deeply in in this conversation. We come to explore his own journey of discovering his nice guy tendencies, how nice guys are formed and why this protective strategy is a terrible foundation to initiate a relationship from. From there, we transition into a deep dive around love and relating. And for anybody who's listening in, I highly encourage you to listen to the end, where he shares his own insights around heartbreak that left a lasting impact on me. When I first envisioned this podcast, one of my dreams was to to have Dr. Glover come on my show, as he's profoundly impacted my own life through his book and work. And I did my best not to shy away from my own Anxiety and Shame that kicked in as soon as Robert agreed to come on my show, which led to a beautiful discussion on how we can move through internalized shame and soothe our anxiety. Having spent an hour and a half in conversation with him, I can confidently say that he didn't disappoint and I deeply admired his humility, authenticity, humor and welcoming nature. This was an incredibly insightful conversation and I highly recommend tuning into this interview with a man who, after 4 decades of working with men, is still going stronger than ever. Time alone doesn't heal all wounds; it's the work we put into ourselves that mends the broken pieces. Join me, Ken Joslin, as I strip down the illusions of healing in relationships, challenging the popular belief that a period of solitude guarantees emotional recovery. I ignite a conversation with a social media post that got everyone talking, explaining why therapy and confrontation of unresolved issues are indispensable in breaking the cycle of repetitive relationship challenges. It's about finding a partner who doesn't just stand by your side but actively joins you in the trenches of personal growth.Relationships are our mirrors, reflecting back the parts of ourselves we often overlook. In this heart-to-heart, I unravel a story close to my chest about the times when being heard is more precious than being advised, pulling insights from influential reads like "No More Mr Nice Guy" and "The Way of the Superior Man." I discuss how our intimate connections can be the catalyst for profound self-improvement, pushing us to evolve in ways we hadn't anticipated. We'll examine the balance of finding a partner who shares our values and how to cherish the journey of mutual growth, hoping to light the path for listeners toward healthier, growth-oriented relationships. Healthy Boundaries are CRITICAL to our individual happiness and authenticity—AND—to our connection as a couple. But when we're not experienced with setting and holding healthy boundaries and/or we've spent our lives "going along to get along," it can be all-too-easy to "weaponize" what could otherwise be healthy boundaries—sabotaging our own authenticity and and connection in our couple-ship.This episode is in response to a situation sent in by a PBSE listener—My husband starting reading " No More Mr Nice Guy" which was referred to him by his 12-Step sponsor. Now he says his"boundary" is going to Jiu Jitsu 2 times a week which is during bedtime with the kids. I said I am ok with one, but not two, especially on Mondays which are really challenging. He responds that his needs are important and he can no longer back down because then he is compromising his self care time. [He goes on to state] that his needs are also to receive love and me pursuing him romantically.  (Even though he continues to act out [in his addiction] every 2 months or so for the past 3 years.) How do I respond? Aren't boundaries to help a relationship thrive? This does not feel that way.In episode 173, Mark & Steve talk about boundaries—healthy vs. toxic—and HOW these boundaries can be "weaponized." They also discuss HOW to find a place of "collaboration" and "balance" between individuals in a coupleship.  Learn more about Mark and Steve's revolutionary online porn/sexual addiction recovery and betrayal trauma healing program—"Dare to Connect!" Last year, I started my podcast and welcomed my baby boy earth side." Candice is a mom, podcaster and essentialist who loves to engage in courageous conversations, especially about truth, trust and boundaries. (Check out her podcast, Create the Ripple Podcast) She has learned the power of saying no and speaks openly about subtle abuse as it occurs in relationships - personally and professionally. Knowing that peace, freedom and integrity start inside, Candice is an advocate for knowing your own truth and speaking it clearly and powerfully - at home, at work and to yourself. After a narcissistic partner cheated on her with multiple women, left her (and the country!) with over 350 thousand dollars worth of bad debt, Candice was forced to rebuild her life, her credit and, most importantly, her trust in herself. The journey was not without its impact and Candice shares powerfully about dealing with anxiety, shame and learning to let go. Now, as a self proclaimed Essentialist, she's leading a big life while living in a tiny home (324 sq ft), with her Love, 2 kids, 2 dogs and 1 cat. When grief rocked her world in 2020, Candice knew it was time to finally do the deeper healing work she had been putting off and change her negative patterns for good. Emerging from this place, Candice now embraces her wild, fierce and receptive feminine nature. The journey to be and embrace all the parts of herself has led her to the place to start her wildly successful Create the Ripple Podcast; Trust the Niggle and Tell the Truth - where she features guests who are living in their truth and integrity. To explain all of this in more detail I'm joined by Men's Coach Tim Neal. Tim has been a coach & trainer since 2012 and uses a combination of coaching modalities, psychology, neuroscience, NLP and embodiment & mindfulness practices to guide men to create powerful & transformational personal breakthroughs. He's also is one of the teaching staff on a Men's Wisdom Work coaching program I am mid-way through right now. So he joins me to dig into the subject and explain the world of men's work in detail. We talk about what men's work is, how it can build confidence, masculine embodiment and authentic, conscious relationships, who can benefit from it, some of the underlying philosophies behind masculine coaching and how it differs from and can be used in conjunction with therapy. For anyone who's curious and wants to explore this a bit more, Men's Wisdom Work has a weekly free community men's group, open to anyone, drop and see what it's all about or feel free to reach out to me directly for more info. Coming to you all the way from a closet in Arizona, Danny and I are here to tell you all about the work Danny is doing for himself. As you all know I've mostly done work with women's empowerment, but in the past six months or so, I've had more men come to me for help. Most people don't want to do this inner work because it's fucking hard. It's literally looking at yourself in the mirror and seeing all the things you're unhappy with and figuring out if and how you're going to change those things. Why did Danny get started with this work? For the past four weeks Danny has been in a men's group. Him doing this work was definitely not on his radar initially, but he had a huge transition in his life with leaving his job.  His new job was not in his repertoire, he's never been his own boss, where what you put in is what you get out of it. Going into that mindset was a huge change, and it opened him up mentally that he did need to make a lot of personal changes in his life and the way he did things. Danny has always worked so much, he's always had a financial cushion, and switching to this job really blew up his anxiety. It opened up a whole door that he wasn't ready for and the anxiety took over. Around February, things started to pick up, he was on his way but we both recognized that there was still work to do. I knew that having a community for support was really going to be a beneficial thing for him. People who aren't your friends or your family, people who allow you to be real and raw, and challenge you and not sugarcoat anything. He was still extremely heavy on the skepticism, because a lot of this so isn't his style, but he really needed the clarity and the rawness of hearing things he wasn't expecting. So he decided to take a shot in the dark and knew if it worked it was going to be great. How to these men's group zoom calls go?You get into the room and there's around 15 people. Danny was not expecting so many people, he was definitely expecting only 5 people, so seeing all those faces really just kind of made him go “fuuuuck”. Once they started to get into things and hearing the voices, and knowing these guys have done this work, Danny knew he had to show up and do some talking. It's really just a bunch of guys who are just trying to open up and find themselves and that's exactly what Danny was trying to accomplish.  These calls really let Danny feel like he wasn't alone, that he wasn't the only one going through these things. Not only are you trying to get through your own shit, but hearing all these other people can really provide some perspective. There is a lot of trauma that can settle in the deepest part of your brain, and you can hear someone say something that can really make you realize you've been holding onto something.  One of the main things that Danny is working on is being more assertive and not over thinking things. People pleasing, and fear of being judged is just such a common things that people are struggling with. Danny has been listening to the book No More Mr Nice Guy, and it's really opened up a lot of things and helping him find that assertiveness and realizing where you can go with it. It's about realizing the tendencies of the nice guy and how you can use that niceness to hide a lot of stuff.  Would Danny recommend this to someone else?He would, yeah. You have to get past the fear of doing it, or the skepticism. Do it when you're ready. If you're just showing up and going through the motions, if you're not actually doing the work, it will be a waste. It takes a special kind of person to step up and admit that there are things in their life that they're wanting to change and then act on those changes. Connect with Rachel!Instagram: @The_Rachel_MaineWebsite: https://linktr.ee/WellnessSexpertiseFacebook: Rachel MaineEmail: therachelmaine@gmail.com

We've heard the saying before: "Nice guys finish last". Is it true? Not if you look at it through a victim mentality. However, there are ways to improve your relationships through assertiveness, not aggression. Through body language. Through understanding your relationship with your parents. And through understanding the idea of interest, intimacy and commitment. These are all things that we discuss on today's episode! About the Guest: Dr. Michael Pariser is a psychologist, author, and transformation agent. After training with Dr. Robert Glover, author of No More Mr. Nice Guy, he started working a lot with men who identify as compliant and people-pleasing. He’s also the author of https://www.amazon.ca/No-More-Mr-Nice-Guy-ebook/dp/B08C813MTZ (No More Mr. Nice Guy: The Hero’s Journey). It serves as a guide to the changes that Nice Guys need to make to become the men they’ve always wanted to be. Michael likes to think of it as a road map to healthy, integrated masculinity. If you would like to find out more about today’s guest, you can go to his website, drparisertherapy.com and if you go to the "For Men" section, that's where you can find out more about his workshops. At the age of 13, Jared Wiseman knew he wanted to settle for nothing less than living the ideal life. At 22, he launched his first business in the health and fitness industry and has since gone on to crush it ever since. Today Jared is a husband, father of 3, athlete, health nut, lifestyle guru, and coach to fellow business owners, helping them to live the dream life they want.Jared steps into this episode to talk about the journey to believing you can live the life you want. From watching the adults around him, he knew as a teenager in Tasmania precisely what he didn't want in his life. He and his best school mate would create business plans of how they were going to escape the rat race. And that's exactly what he did. Hear how this sports nut and athlete turned a passion for health and fitness into a thriving personal training business. One key theme of this chat is the importance of "owning your shit." Jared talks about why this matters in your life and business, plus how he's trying to instill personal responsibility into his children.Jade and Jared also dive into topics around parenthood, like the idea that there's no time for what you want. They discuss how children are reflections of yourselves. Learn why many of the philosophies that we use with children equally apply to treating employees and our businesses.Cue up this podcast to hear some philosophies about how you can achieve the life you want. Key points (00:00) Introducing Jared Wiseman to Barrels and Business!(03:43)- How his early days growing up in Tasmania helped define his priorities and showed him what he didn't want out of his life(08:02)- You can go to University, but you have to get your hands dirty to learn the business.(15:05)- The importance of owning your shit in everything you do(21:07)- When do you, as a parent, teach your kids responsibility and ownership?(24:07)- How children are a reflection of yourself and your traits(32:41)- Why you need to stop being a people pleaser(35:27)- A discussion on what masculinity means and balancing the masculine and feminine in your life(41:50)- Tough situations are opportunities for understanding what makes people tick and be happy(48:07)- Forget the how, focus on the dream and bring clarity around the end goal. It's something that I think you have to get your hands dirty."How to get results: "The key difference that I noticed with people that got results versus the people that didn't… was extreme ownership. It was just owning your shit. How many full-grown adults just don't understand that concept of just own your stuff?"Setting an example for your kids: "I think leadership and walking the talk is still the best parenting that you can ever do. It's the same monkey see monkey do."The difference between second-guessing or seeking validation: "There is nothing wrong with going and asking for the opinion, and for someone else's advice, it's understanding what your motivator was for that."Why people abandon your business: "When clients leave, a lot of times it's they don't feel loved. When staff leave, they don't feel loved. So it's understanding what actually makes them feel alive."How to achieve your goals: "The first step is knowing what you want. You don't need to know how, you got to forget the how. Know what you want, forget the how"How to prioritize your time: "Pick your three to five things that are the most important and make those your habits, prioritize those first."Be where you are: "When you live in that space where you are, you're living proactively rather than reactively. That other stuff just goes away, and the noise of it quietens down."Connect with Me and the Barrels and Business Community Website: https://www.barrelsandbusiness.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/barrelsandbusiness/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/barrelsandbusiness/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jadegreenau/YouTube: https://bit.ly/jadegreenytAcast: https://shows.acast.com/barrelsandbusiness/episodes/welcome-to-the-barrels-and-business-podcastConnect with JaredWebsite: https://www.jaredwiseman.com.au/Facebook Personal: https://www.facebook.com/jared.wiseman.9847Facebook Business: https://www.facebook.com/wisejaredLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jared-wiseman-834034176/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jared_wiseman/Mentioned resourcesBooksThe Conscious Parent https://www.amazon.com/Conscious-Parent-Transforming-Ourselves-Empowering/dp/1897238452No More Mr. Nice Guy https://www.amazon.com/No-More-Mr-Nice-Guy/dp/0762415339Think and Grow Rich https://www.amazon.com/Think-Grow-Rich-Publication-Foundation-ebook/dp/B07P896HSJ/The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy https://www.amazon.com/Compound-Effect-Jumpstart-Income-Success/dp/0306924633/The Slight Edge https://www.amazon.com/Slight-Edge-Turning-Disciplines-Happiness/dp/1626340463Atomic Habits https://www.amazon.com/Atomic-Habits-Proven-Build-Break/dp/0735211299Own the Day, Own Your Life by Aubrey Marcus https://www.amazon.com/Own-Day-Your-Life-Optimized/dp/0062684078The Third Space https://www.amazon.com/The-Third-Space/dp/1742753868/ Our GDPR privacy policy was updated on August 8, 2022. Dr. Glover is a recovering nice guy. Dr. Glover was proud to say he was a nice guy about himself through much of his early adult life.   He really was a Nice Guy. He treated treat people well, and he wanted to be liked. He couldn't understand why everyone didn't have a similar personal mantra.   While in his early 30's, in spite of his unwavering faith in this philosophy, his life was in crisis. One marriage had ended. A second one wasn't going so well. His career dreams were stalled. He was frustrated, resentful, and confused. He wasn't so nice.   He decided to start working on his situation. He joined a men's group and started working with a therapist. Honestly, his initial goal was to find out why the people around him weren't responding so well to his Nice Guy philosophy, and he wanted to find out how to get them to change. Within a short amount of time, he came to see that the problem was HIMSELF. He had an agenda. He had no boundaries. He was indirect. He was passive-aggressive. He wasn't honest. He wasn't always so nice.   His life's work and passion began when Dr. Glover was making Nice Guy discoveries about himself. He noticed that men he worked with in his practice as a marriage therapist were making the same kind of statements about their partners that he had been making about his. He found that he could finish their sentences for them.   Common questions and comments he gets are; “How come I always seem to give so much more than I get? All I want is to be appreciated. Is that asking too much? I can never do it right. She's always mad. When will it be my turn? She never wants to have sex anymore.”    Dr. Glover is the creator of Dating Essentials for Men and the director of TPI University.   Dr. Glover lives in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Dr. Glover is an internationally recognized authority on the Nice Guy Syndrome. He is a frequent guest on radio talk shows and has been featured in numerous local and national publications.   Through his book, No More Mister Nice Guy, his online classes, workshops, podcasts, blogs, consultation, and therapy groups, Dr. Glover has helped change the lives of countless men and women around the world.   As a result of his work, Dr. Glover has helped thousands of Nice Guys transform from being passive, resentful victims to empowered, integrated males. Along with these personal changes have come similar transformations in these men's professional careers and intimate relationships.   Links Dr. Glover's website I https://www.drglover.com/ No More Mister Nice Guy book I https://www.drglover.com/no-more-mr-nice-guy/the-book.html Audiobook on Audible I https://www.amazon.com/No-More-Mr-Nice-Guy-audiobook/dp/B078927ZYL/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2LOVGGCSWUFSP&dchild=1&keywords=no+more+mister+nice+guy&qid=1595367281&sprefix=nor+more+mister+%2Caps%2C248&sr=8-1 Dr. Glover's coaching & meetup groups I https://www.drglover.com/coaching-groups.html

I was sure this was the episode where she would reveal it at the end and then lead us into a Fitzsimmons flashback extravaganza next week, but alas, no such luck.  Still, they're pushing the idea pretty hard with her and Enoch's conversation, despite the fact that she apparently wasn't affected by the EMP in episodes 3 and 4 like Coulson was.   It's clear from the writing that they're paying attention to themselves.  They're acknowledging mostly everything that reviews and podcasts have questioned so far, including Simmons' confusion with the random timer, the Malick chronology from season 3, and of course May and Yoyo's inconsistencies in the early episodes.  That impresses me considering this has been in the can for over a year.    Finally, I'm hoping not to hear too much Mack hate this week.  In his position, I can't say I would have flooded that base with my parents inside, even if I was the director of SHIELD preventing a Hydra attack.  At least he had a semi-effective Plan B that hopefully won't have too many consequences next week (although I'm sure the consequences will lead to some fun action.)    Until next time!       Oh8four Fri, Jun 19, 12:19 PM (6 days ago)   SO GOOD!!!   Clark Gregg has been aching to narrate some noire and it shows.  The style of the episode was absolutely perfect.  Between the lack of faces shown, the title "Out of the past," and clips I've seen of Sousa in later-era clothing, I think we all saw the team's decision to take him with them a mile away, but the idea is so exciting to me that I don't care.  As always, I'm curious as to whether their machinations were simply a way to emulate what actually happened in their past without dams, or if this is just the way that it always was.  But again, it's so fun that I don't really care, and I think that's their aim for this season: look at our time travel logic any way that you want, but just have fun doing it.  And I think it's working.   Chronology notes: According to the timecard in the amazing episode Paradise Lost, Malick died in 1970.  If they decide to bring him back as an elderly man post 1973 (when No More Mr Nice Guy was released), either the Chronicoms faked his death like Souza's or it's some sloppy chronology.  I myself wouldn't mind seeing the actor who played young Gideon back because I remember he was excellent in the role.   What else did I like? -The status quo conversation with Yoyo and Deke -The menacing actor they got for Malick.  Totally selling it as the guy who would have raised Gideon. -Sousa's balance of falling for some things vs not falling for others.  He might be a SHIELD legend and a great character, but he's no Peggy Carter, and he shouldn't be written as infallible. -May's trip to the other world turning her into a super empath.  I love the idea of where we can go with that. -Bartender Enoch was everything.   Until next time!   OUTRO [49:35]   Haley, Lauren, Michelle and Stargate Pioneer love to hear back from you about how you would rate the episode we just discussed, your top 5 Marvel character lists, your science of Marvel questions, who would you pick in an all-female Avenger team, or which Marvel male you would like to see shirtless. Do you remember that kid at school who all the girls loved but was always firmly in the friend zone? Many guys just like this have grown up into men who despite doing everything right in their relationships to please their spouses, get very little in return. Dr Glover's pioneering book No More Mr Nice Guy continues to increase in sales year on year despite being nearly two decades old which speaks volumes about this phenomenon. I find out from him the inspiration behind it, why so many Men and Dads are still caught in the nice guy trap and why overcoming it with the help of a band of brothers is imperative. In 39 CE, Caligula walked into the Senate and tore them all a new one. The gloves came off. The nice guy act was over. He criticized them for enabling Sejanus' persecution of his family and for criticizing Tiberius when in fact they urged him on. Then he reinstated majestas. The Senate responded by thanking him and singing his praises. The post Caligula #13 – No More Mr Nice Guy appeared first on Life Of The Caesars.

After four years of self-discovery and coaching, he has learned that he has a pretty big heart. He always resisted this fact, because having a big heart means you can get hurt.  Instead he learned to filter everything through his brain, perform to receive love, and created a career out of doing so. Here are some other interesting facts about Adam: before coaching and law, he was a software developer and project manager; he used to teach popping and locking (and have trained with the founders of both dance styles); he has a boston terrier named Grimby that he loves more than life itself; he can’t watch cheesy movies without crying; and even after all of the work he’s done, he still struggles to let go of his constant nature to strive. Key Points From Today’s Episode: Adam tells us how he got started on his journey to coaching, marking a big turning point in his life. We talk about finding a niche in your business (Adam brakes down the way he has found his) and growing a service based business by good word of mouth (by invitation and referral only).
