Cathy specializes in energy medicine, the centuries-old science of using energy to heal the body, restore vitality, and restore cellular longevity. Her commitment to health care stems from her personal experiences. She was on a path to medical school when she had to be hospitalized for several months with multiple surgeries to save her life due to an autoimmune disease. During this long-term illness, Cathy turned to the ancient art of Chinese Medicine. After she received Acupuncture treatments, her health started turning around. At this point, Cathy realized that medical school was not her path. She knew that addressing the underlying health issues and treating the person as a whole was the sure way to health. She turned her focus to her career as an acupuncture physician specializing in body-mind advanced therapies and frequency healing through bio-photon energy fields, which she has coined the BioPhoton Energy Highway. She has been a leading physician in bringing cutting-edge techniques to acupuncture, chiropractic, and the traditional medical field. Why freezing your face or filling your skin may be accelerating aging—and what science actually says works at the cellular level. Learn how freezing your face may be accelerating aging, dulling emotional expression, and disrupting brain health. How can women take back control of how they age —without numbing, injecting, or cutting? What's the downside to freezing your face with Botox—emotionally and biologically? Emotions and trauma don't just affect your mood—they imprint on your facial muscles. Discover how reactivating natural expression can reverse visible aging and restore emotional vitality. True radiance isn't about erasing lines—it's about restoring energy, expression, and self-connection. Cathy shares how women can age with power, not pressure. How does stress, trauma, and tension actually show up on our faces? Hello, hello and welcome back to The Easy Feed. Today I'm diving into a topic that so many parents ask me about—protein. How much do our children really need? Where should it come from? And are protein powders ever necessary? As a paediatric dietitian and mum, I know first-hand how challenging it can be to keep lunchboxes nutritious, especially when dealing with a fussy eater or a child following a vegetarian diet. While most kids easily meet their protein requirements, the real issue is often the quality of that protein. In this episode, I unpack the difference between dairy-based proteins and those rich in fibre, iron and zinc, and why focusing on variety is key to supporting your child's long-term health. We'll also explore whether protein powders have a place in children's diets, what to look for if you choose one, and why whole, real foods should always come first. ⭐ Highlights of the Episode Protein needs made simple – How much protein children actually require each day and why most already meet these needs. Quality matters – The difference between dairy protein and plant-based proteins rich in fibre, iron and zinc. Gut health connection – Why fibre-rich protein foods support digestion, immunity, mood and learning. Protein powders in kids – When (and if) they're useful, and how to choose a safe option. Practical swaps and ideas – Easy, real food ways to boost protein for even the fussiest eaters. Supporting a picky eater or fussy eater can feel overwhelming, especially when you're trying to balance a healthy diet for fussy eaters with the reality of busy school days. As a children's nutritionist and paediatric dietitian, I know that parents often worry about protein. In this episode, I explain how to get enough nutritious foods into your child's diet without relying on supplements, and when quick, easy food swaps can make a big difference to their nutrition. You'll also find inspiration for boosting fibre, iron and protein in a way that even fussy eaters will enjoy. If you've been wondering about children's nutrition and the role of protein powders, this episode will give you clarity and practical solutions.

Think again. In this fired-up episode of Tea & Truth, we're tackling the myths, half-truths, and downright misinformation that too many women are still hearing — even from their doctors.  Here's the thing: most medical training includes less than 4 hours on menopause. That means countless women are told their symptoms are “just aging,” “all in your head,” or dismissed entirely. Today, we're pulling back the curtain on what's really going on in your hormones, your body, and your mind during this powerful life stage. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why menopause is not a single moment at age 50 — and how perimenopause can start in your late 30s or early 40s. The truth about hormones: it's not just estrogen — progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, and insulin play big roles too. Why “normal” labs don't always mean optimal health — and the tests you should be asking for. How to support your energy, mood, and body naturally so you don't just “deal with it,” you thrive.  Bonus myths busted: from hormone therapy fears to the damaging lie that menopause makes you less feminine or attractive.  Actionable Tips You Can Start Today: Track your cycle, symptoms, and energy to spot patterns early. Balance your blood sugar for steadier mood, weight, and energy.  Advocate for a full thyroid panel and optimal lab ranges.  Prioritize lifestyle foundations: sleep, nutrition, movement, and stress management.  Reframe your mindset — menopause is not an ending, it's a transformation.   Final takeaway? You are not broken. You are becoming. Midlife isn't when your light fades — it's when you shine brighter, more authentically, and more powerfully than ever.   Connect with Lynne: If you're looking for a community of like-minded women on a journey - just like you are - to improved health and wellness, overall balance, and increased confidence, check out Lynne's private community in The Energized Healthy Women's Club. About Corrine Auman, PhD:  Corinne Auman is the founder of Choice Care Navigators, a company dedicated to helping families navigate the aging process. She is dedicated to fostering personal growth, resilience, and authentic living at every age. Corinne's passion lies in reshaping how we perceive older adulthood, a vision she beautifully encapsulates in her groundbreaking book, "Keenagers." Corinne is on a mission to change the conversation around aging. In a culture where many avoid thinking about older adulthood until the last minute, she urges us to embrace aging in a positive light. Her story is not just about her successes; it's a call for all of us to care about aging, dispelling myths and embracing the beauty and potential of every stage of life.   What We Discuss In This Episode: Corrine discussed the complexities of aging and the societal perceptions surrounding it. She emphasized the importance of a positive outlook on aging, arguing that it can empower families to plan effectively for their older loved ones, contrasting this with the panic often induced by negative cultural messages. We also addressed the challenges faced by caregivers, many of whom are older adults themselves. Corinne discussed the importance of self-care for caregivers and the need for expert guidance in navigating senior health care complexities. She provided insights on when families should consider transitioning elderly parents to senior living communities, advising preliminary research to ease the decision-making process during health crises. Corinne addressed the modern perspective on retirement, noting that individuals in their 40s, 50s, and 60s are rethinking what it means to retire. Corinne pointed out that there are no longer mandatory retirement ages, allowing people to continue working while collecting social security. Many choose to transition from their first careers to new ventures, such as consulting or starting businesses. We discussed the appropriate time for families to seek senior living communities for elderly parents. Corinne Auman detailed the spectrum of senior living options, from independent living to skilled nursing, highlighting the differences in care and support provided. She stressed the importance of researching these options in advance to alleviate stress during potential health crises. Corinne highlighted the unique stressors faced by adult caregivers and recommended seeking specialized therapy services. She detailed the differences between home care, which involves assistance with daily tasks, and home health, which includes medical therapies ordered by a doctor. Auman also noted that costs for these services can vary significantly by location and often require private payment.   Resource from Corrine Auman: Link to Corinne's book "Keenagers" - https://amzn.to/3Y6bmqP   Connect With Corrine Auman: Website: https://www.CorinneAuman.com    Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61558512157337   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/keenagersbook/   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/corinneauman/     Connect with Lynne: If you're looking for a community of like-minded women on a journey - just like you are - to improved health and wellness, overall balance, and increased confidence, check out Lynne's private community in The Energized Healthy Women's Club. Lynne shared her personal experiences with alopecia and migraines, linking her health challenges to her environment in Florida, while VJ highlighted the connection between skin health and the immune system, emphasizing the impact of diet and climate. VJ recommended dietary changes, such as incorporating omega-3-rich fish and antioxidant-rich foods to reduce inflammation and stressed the importance of high-quality food sources. VJ also explained gut health's role in autoimmune conditions, and how gut bacteria imbalances can lead to inflammation and digestive issues. She advised including a variety of plant-based foods and fiber in the diet, particularly for those on restrictive diets, and encouraged manageable dietary changes.   We discussed health challenges faced during midlife, particularly focusing on skin issues and autoimmune conditions.  VJ recounted her experiences with autoimmune diseases and how they motivated her to pursue a career in nutrition. She highlighted the significance of anti-inflammatory foods, particularly omega-3-rich fish, in managing symptoms and maintaining overall health during midlife. Health and Nutrition Insights - VJ explained that gut health is central to managing autoimmune conditions and overall health, as it affects nutrient absorption and immune response. She noted that an imbalance in gut bacteria can lead to inflammation and digestive issues. Stress management and dietary choices, such as incorporating short-chain fatty acids and a variety of plant-based foods, are essential for maintaining gut health. VJ also mentioned the significance of fiber for gut health and highlighted the need for conscious dietary choices, especially for those on low starch or low grain diets.  She recommended starting with small lifestyle changes that bring joy and suggested focusing on one nutritional improvement at a time, such as cooking whole food instead of relying on ready meals.   Free Resource From VJ Hamilton: The Autoimmune Recovery Plan: https://vjhamilton.kartra.com/page/TheAutoimmunityRecoveryPlan   Connect With VJ Hamilton: Website: https://theautoimmunitynutritionist.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theautoimmunitynutritionist Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theautoimmunitynutritionist LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/theautoimmunitynutritionist/ Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-autoimmune-reset/id1646389917   Connect with Lynne: If you're looking for a community of like-minded women on a journey - just like you are - to improved health and wellness, overall balance, and increased confidence, check out Lynne's private community in The Energized Healthy Women's Club. Trust me: this will make a huge difference in your mindset and in how you run your beautiful business.  In this episode I'm walking brick and mortar retail shop owners through a simple yet powerful midyear retail planning process to stay on track for profitability and growth. You'll learn what you need to look at during the review, how to adjust business goals, and how to build a profit plan to keep you flexible yet focused for the rest of the year. (Inner Circle members have access to a quarterly retail planning checklist to review your progress!) Whether you've hit your targets or need to pivot, this actionable framework will help you identify “creep” in your operations, celebrate your wins, and map out the next six months with confidence. “Don't plan for ‘fine.' Feeling stuck in a cycle of fatigue, brain fog, and hormone chaos? Wondering why no matter how “healthy” you eat, your energy stays low or your weight won't budge? You're not alone—and it may not be your fault. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Aly Cohen, a board-certified rheumatologist and environmental health expert, to talk about something that affects every single one of us but rarely gets discussed: the toxic chemical overload hiding in our everyday lives. We unpack how environmental chemicals are silently disrupting your hormone balance, gut health, and immune system—especially during perimenopause and menopause, when your body is already more sensitive to stress, inflammation, and hormonal shifts. You'll hear how toxins are linked to weight loss resistance, IBS, exhaustion, thyroid dysfunction, and even autoimmune flares. Dr. Cohen shares her signature “4 A's” method to detox your life—without obsessing or aiming for perfection. From common kitchen swaps to what's lurking in your self-care routine (yep, even your garbage bags), we get into the everyday habits that silently sabotage your metabolism and energy—and how to reclaim your vitality, one simple change at a time. Key Points (Listen for the 'how' in the full episode): • The everyday products disrupting your hormone balance and gut health—especially during perimenopause • How immune-disrupting chemicals could be triggering inflammation, fatigue, and autoimmune flares • A subtle hormone shift that might explain your energy crashes—and how to fix it without relying on coffee • The surprising link between toxins and brain fog, and the four simple steps Dr. Cohen recommends to detox smarter (not harder) If you're doing “all the right things” for your health but still dealing with bloating, mood swings, constipation, or low energy, it's time to look deeper. Toxins are the hidden variable no one talks about—but they're quietly impacting your metabolism, hormone balance, and gut health. This episode helps you understand the “why” behind your symptoms and gives you a practical place to start. Ready to clear the confusion and reclaim your health? Tune in and learn how to assess, avoid, and gently detox without the overwhelm.
