Whether it was on a baseball diamond or in front of a live audience, Jon is no stranger to crowds of people cheering him on. He’s had a lot of ups and downs in his life but nothing has ever stopped him from pursing his dreams. I had the pleasure of hearing Jon’s story and his views on Hollywood, performing, film, and why he laughs in the face of fear (Yes… that’s what said). Welcome back my friends. I sit down with an old friend of mine, the OG, Kelly Hall. She shares her experiences in moving to LA for the arts and what it’s been like surviving in Hollywood as an actor. Despite living in Miami for most of her life, raised by Cubans and Americans, we also discover that she is actually a full quarter French (there’s absolutely no sign of it btw, besides maybe her love for bread.) We discus why racism is stupid (obviously), why she can’t watch scary movies unless she knows who’s going to die, and we invent an all new awards series called “The Backyard Awards.” So shut up and listen up. For those of you who haven’t been given the pleasure to meet Zane, he is a kind and gentle soul that originates from Miami, Florida. Zane and I became good friends in High School where we bonded over just being goofy and enjoying life. I sit down with Zane to discuss his big move to Los Angeles and his new experiences in the one of the most bustling cities in the world. We talk about all the benefits of living in California, why Terminator 2 is the best movie ever, his first time driving, and why he believes he’s still learning (aka he might be a crappy driver, so watch out angelenos). He tells us what it was like growing up in Japan, Hawaii, and California, and why is wasn’t always easy to fit in. As he put it “I was too American for Japan and too Japanese for America.” Using film and televison as an escape, it inspired him to work professionally as an actor and director, and he shares the visceral experiences he’s had as an artist. Also, we discuss our obsession with films from the 80’s and the peak of Nicolas Cage. We agree score music is the best music, and we talk real books (the comic-book kind of course). I never said this was an educational podcast. Here it is folks! Throw on those AirPods and enjoy the show! xoxoLove, KrisInstagram: @mucho_beaucoup @kristianlugo

Ladies and gentlemen, I had the pleasure of sitting down with a very talented individual, Gilbert Louie Ray Montoya. Gilbert has been performing as a musician for years with his band in Los Angeles performing mixes of Americana, Bluegrass, Folk and Country. But I brought him on the show to discuss his first solo album which debuted last year. He named it “My Best Friends Call Me Gil.” You can find it on iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, YouTube, or wherever else music is found. We talk about what inspired him to make the album (mostly from drinking, relationships, traveling with his band, and being one of the few locals from Los Angeles) We’ll discuss how his father, a singer and musician, was the reason he picked up music, and why his album was inspired and dedicated to his grandfather who gave him the creative space to explore his craft and passion for music which was why he decided to sport a picture of his grandfather as the cover for the album. Gilbert also gives us the first live performance on the show, playing one of his original songs “Beginning of Being,” giving a powerhouse performance on guitar and harmonica. We get into our favorite sci-fi and fantasy trilogies, the writings of Joseph Campbell, and which musicians he relates to the most. And at the end of the episode, I’ll showcase one of Gilberts songs from his solo album, “City Of Angels.” Turn on loud and enjoy my babies! Love, Kris instagram: @gilbertlouieraymusic @kristianlugo

Enoc has been making great strides since his move to Los Angeles when he was only 19, coming from, as he calls it, a “rockstar lifestyle.” We discuss his early days in Miami and the conscious decision he made to strive for a better healthier life. We even touch on an entire topic about his name, “Enoc,” and how there’s apparently 37 different ways to say it, and what it means to different people. We get into the benefits of networking, collaborating, reaching out, opening your heart, and following your true voice. We talk about Einstein’s String Theory, and why Enoc would be the perfect addition for the next “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie. I was even given the pleasure of sampling one of his new singles, “Otra Mujer,” which won’t be released until Valentines Day 2019. So make sure to check out the entire song when it comes out. Also stick around till the end of the episode to listen to one of his current hit singles “Lo Pasamos Bien.” So here it is kids, enjoy! Love, Kris Instagram: @enocianmusic @kristianlugo

Sam digs up stories about experimenting with drugs for the first time in High School and how his mom ended up finding out about it from his friends no good ratting out mother, Pam (thanks a lot Pam!) He shares the story of Claws, his childhood pet turtle that run away to his negligent neighbors house. We discuss the perks of working in production sound for film and television, and I find out why Snyder Texas was ranked USA Today’s top 50 places to live. (spoiler alert: it’s a super small town and everything is very cheap) Then we talk horror films. (What? A week before Christmas?) Well that’s because this episode was actually recorded back in October. Sorry Santa! But sit back, listen, and enjoy. Love, Kris Instagram: @sammaysound @kristianlugo

We discuss his parents early life in Mexico City and some of the struggles they had to overcome as young adults, including his mothers brave involvement at protesting the Olympics held in her home town in Mexico in the 1960’s, and why Julio is proud to call his mother a feminist. He shares a very intimate story about how he and his family were once held at gun point when he was just a child, and the decision his parents made to aim for a safer life in the United States. We find out about Julio’s embarrassing first day of school in America, and the one friend he found solace with named Kennith (shout out to Kennith!) I ask Julio about the experience working on his breakout role, Oscar ‘Spooky’ Diaz, that he portrays on the Netflix series “On My Block.” He then tries his hardest to discuss a scene from the film “Kate & Leopold,” but we realize we’ve accidentally got to drunk during this recording to make any damn sense... so that happens.
